Ultra high prices. Price beyond reasonable. I feel terrible about it. I will not use these folks again.

They told me in the chat box one spring…

They told me in the chat box one spring would be about $145, when the techs arrived they gave me three quotes, the lowest $880 for two cables and two springs. I know I agreed to the price buy but if I did not I would have to pay a $69 service charge. I found out later I could have another company do it for $495. They have rave reviews on their webpage but there is no place to post my review? Seniors be careful.

Ben was here today to reset our keypad

Ben was here today to reset our keypad. He is always kind and considerate to start with and we are always happy to see him. He was on time. He let us know he was headed our way. He explained how to reset the keypad as well as resetting it with us. We had a good laugh about the YouTube version that just didn’t quite help.
We are confident in Precision Door services when Ben is at the helm and representing the company. We are very happy customers. Thank you all again.

Disappointing

Disappointing! Called and set up an appointment and asked scheduler maximum charge to replace one garage door spring. She answered with a range going up to a maximum of $360, no other charges. Tech showed up and quote at least double that within five minutes. Normal 16-foot residential door, nothing special about it. How could they get it so wrong?
AND, Look at their website for reviews they get 5 Stars, "On their website" what nonsense! On this site and other third party reviews they get a 3 star at best. No just bad service...

Precision Garage is very expensive

Had Precision Garage door come out and give me a price for a broken spring. I wanted both replaced even though only one was broke. It was like taking my car to get the tires rotated and they tell you everything you need that you did not take it in for. The tech inspected the door and gave me 3 different scenerios from $800 - $1200. I said I just wanted the springs fixed and it was $762. I declined the service and called Cornwell Door Service in Lebanon. Cornwell replaced the springs, cables and a few rollers and it was only $505. That was a $257 savings and that included the rollers and cables. The Cornwell Technician that worked there 40 years, said some of the things Precision told me I needed replaced was not necessary.

I wish I had known a few things before working with Precision Garage Doors.

I wish I had known a few things before working with Precision Garage Doors.

Ridiculously Overpriced
They quoted me $870 for what turned out to be a simple garage door repair. After checking with several other local companies, I went with one that charged just $150—and they got it done in under an hour. That’s almost six times less than Precision’s quote for the same job!

Misleading Ratings
Their high Google ratings can be deceptive. Precision has multiple branches across Wisconsin, and their service quality varies depending on the local rep. You might get someone decent—or someone who overcharges and underdelivers.

Unethical & Unprofessional
When I called about my bent garage door panel, I was worried about potential damage to the tracks and cables. But instead of sending a technician, they sent a salesperson who barely gave any advice and left me thinking I could keep using the door.

Big mistake. The damage got worse, just like I originally feared. When I confronted Precision about it, they refused to take responsibility—then had the audacity to quote me that outrageous $870 repair cost.

Better Alternatives Exist
Avoid Precision Garage Doors. There are plenty of local, trustworthy businesses that won’t overcharge you. If you need more proof, check Reddit—there are plenty of similar experiences shared there.

Disappointed This Time

I have used Precision Garage Door twice in the past, but I have an old door with springs; so the spring on one side came out. I called to get the springs repaired and the technician came out and gave me a shocking estimate of 776.00 for the replacement and repair of ALL the springs and cords of the door- stating preventing problems later. I was in shock because this is the 3rd time coming out and I am just wanting the one side repaired, thinking I will replace the door later. No matter what I said he insist that all this work needed to be done. I declined the work and signed as such and he shut the door and left. Immediately after I could not open the door, I could not get it to budge not even move a little bit. I called the office and they say he would come back and I never heard from him or the office and I can no longer open my garage door.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

Actually, this company deserves NO stars. Total scam. So tech quoted me $275 labor only to repair garage door tract; no parts needed. Then I had him replace two photo cells which totaled $150.00. That totals $425.00. Well, the invoice totaled $1,105.30. Why the difference? He charged me for a piece of tin that was not needed. So I had him take it off and put the old one back on. Door worked just fine without it. Then he charged me for another item that was way out of line. I refuse to be scammed. He settled for $575.00 after I had a screaming banchi rant. I have learned my lesson. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS believe people when they write a bad review. Many 1 stars on this company. Believe them!!!

These Clowns Charged me for Work Never Done and Ruined My Credit!

I was going to get a garage door from these people in Brunswick. I decided not to because of some ridiculous down payment they wanted me to pay. I figured that was it. Come to find out they took the check their lender gave them for the job and have yet to return it. I'm now getting my credit destroyed for Late payments on a garage door I never got installed. They refuse to pick up the phone or respond to emails. What a Joke!!!!

Employee problem

I've had Precision Garge door out once before, about 2 years ago and the service couldn't have been better. The technician was friendly, respectful, polite and knowledgeable. Last week I had both cables come unwound on one door. The technician, Anthony, showed up at around 2:30. I've never encountered a more rude, disrespectful technician in my 72 years. From the get go, he proceeded to, what I can only say, tried to tell me that rewinding would not do any good. That actually i needed to replace the whole entire lift mechanism at a cost of around $750. When I declined, he then proceeded to tell me that my other door cable and spool mechanism would not last long either. I mentioned that I was retired, on a fixed income and he then made some derogatory remark about that. I then told him to just do the work that I asked him to do. He became angry and belligerent and said that he was done, said a few more derogatory remarks and left. I.will not alow Anthony to be on my property again, but I will keep Precision in mind again, when I need service. The last time Precision was here, I left a great review on my Subdivision Facebook page. Thanks for listening.

Crooks - preying on elderly

The Palm Springs location was called to fix/replace a remote for my mother’s garage door. At best the remote needed reprogramming and at worse needed to be replaced. The garage door worked fine with the wired controller in the garage. The technician told my elderly mother that the opener and springs needed to be replaced. He charged her over $2100. Such a scam and disgracefully preying on elderly.

$$$$$$

If you have any other choice, do not use this company. On December 20th, after pulling into my garage, I tried to close the door only to hear a buzzing sound. The manual release was unusable because the rope was trapped between the garage door and opener. At 10:15 a.m., I called Precision and spoke with Madison, who assured me someone would arrive within four hours. True to her word, a technician arrived at 12:15 p.m.

I explained that I would be happy just to get the door closed since snow was expected that night. He told me this was not possible and that I would need a new opener, reusing all the existing hardware, springs, and rails. Imagine my shock when he quoted me a price of $1,293.15. When I questioned him, he said this was the least expensive option. He installed the opener and left by 2:20 p.m.

Since then, I've done some research and found that I could have bought the Genie 2128 for $345.35. By my calculations, this means the labor cost was $475 per hour. I feel like a fool, and I feel sure Precision sees me the same way. They were quick to show up, for which I was appreciative, but after that, it was all downhill.

I have no issue with the tech's knowledge and skill set, but the price is exorbitant. Two springs and two cables which cost less than $200, made my out of pocket cost for the job $810.00 for less than an hr's work.

Had a new garage door motor and parts…

Had a new garage door motor and parts replaced yesterday. My old system was 16 years old. The motor wasn’t powerful enough for the weight of the door.
Rob showed up in a timely manner. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He did an amazing job with instillation and paid such close attention to details.
I had a hard time programming the unit to my phone and made a mess of the system. I called the company this morning and Rob was here in an hour!! He patiently reprogrammed the unit and went over the details with us , agin!
However, the cost of the unit was a little eye popping. But I needed the issue resolved quickly. If the company continues to be as attentive I think it will all be worth it. Welcome to 2024. The cost of doing business is through the roof.
Thank you Rob and Precision Garage door for taking good care of us!!

EXPENSIVE!

$1600 to replace a few parts and grease the hinges. I think the parts may have been over rated for my door… a hollow aluminum double door. Do homework before choosing these guys if money is important. Work preformed seems to be good so far.
