I found the Travel Card really excellent in Japan where cash is used a lot. I was able to withdraw what I required on a daily basis. I also preferred using this type of card to a credit card, I felt... See more

I lost my card in Italy. It took one phone call to inform the Travel Card team and my card was cancelled and a new one was on its way. Excellent, no hassle customer service.
Very good card, app is easy to use. Does all conversions for you and works without any problems when abroad
Upload the app as recommended by a friend and topped up my card but still haven’t received the £10 as yet !!!!

Easy process to get the card. Very easy top up via the APP and to add cash in the post office.

Very straightforward to use with all the safety features built in to protect you but still easily accessible for the user.

I got this card for a family member. Had issues with it in Europe and wanted to sort out getting it reactivated. That didn’t work well! Then the card was stolen/lost and I contacted Customer Services to get a new one. I have not received it, nor heard anything from them. The problem seems to be that I set it up but it was for someone else to use abroad. They can’t access the App only I can. I am now left with the problem and the Euros on the card which I won’t be using as the family member is already abroad. I wanted to send them the card but have not received it yet, after a good 2 weeks!
I wouldn’t bother in the future, there seems to be much easier to use companies out there. However I’m not sure what their customer care is like when a problem arises!
Just to add to the reply I received:
When I applied for the Post Office Travel card in one of your Post Offices your member of staff told me that I could get the card for a member of my family to use abroad. They went ahead processing it and helping me do it!
Please inform you staff what you wrote in your review, thank you.

Useless card - I preloaded it with 60 euros before travelling to Italy and then tried it in a restaurant but it didn't work. Then tried it in an atm but that didn't work either. Stick to your usual credit card (Halifax in ny case)

Very poor exchange rates compared to other cards. A 3% difference works out as a very expensive mistake. Avoid at all costs

Used card to get fuel at a petrol station in France. Company took €150 off the card but I had only taken €50 of fuel. Phoned up account support and was told this can happen and it shouldn’t be used in a petrol station but the money should go back on. Two weeks later lost €100. Emailed post office a week ago no reply. Not great customer service.

Unable to top up whilst in USA. Inconvenient and not the experience I expected. More hassle than it’s worth.

Really impressed with my Travel Money card. Once loaded on my phone I was able to use it easily everywhere throughout France during my recent trip. Great for bus tickets, easy paying on cafe or restaurant bills. The app made it easy to top up and keep track of the payments and top up when needed. Knowing it had limited money on also gave me security as far as any cloning risk went too. Highly Recommend

Over the years I have used this card reliably. However earlier in the year I had it declined in Germany and more recently declined in Denmark. First of its declined on tap and go , then i am asked to enter PIN number and it’s declined again. I have checked i am entering the correct number. On other occasions it’s been accepted. Having to have a backup card to hand , makes it less than useful.
Tried to register card with dsb (danish travel app) enter card details, then some text from post office appears about wanting to prevent fraud and do a 0 transaction, so I open up post office app, and there is no transaction to authorise. Go back to dsb app and card details have disappeared. Yet when I register my Barclaycard card added with no authorisation or issues.
