My second Portasol in 35 years!
I got my first Portasol more than 35 years ago, a Model P-1K. It served me well for most of those years and prompted me to upgrade to a new Portasol SuperPro 125. So far so good, too early to comment on reliability but build quality feels good and improved functionality is great! Fantastic to see a quality product that's still made in Ireland!

Soldering iron malfunctioning
I was having a issue with my Portasol soldering iron.Jaycar in Western Australia couldn't help, so I decided to contact the manufacturer in Ireland. A Portasol representative ( Oisin ) contacted me to discuss the issue. Long story cut short Portasol replaced my unit for about half the cost of a new one in Australia.( Including postage ) I just needed to email a couple of videos of the problem, and one of destroying the faulty unit.
