Ian Burns was so helpful from start to finish. He’s the reason I’m in my home now. It was the last one on the plot and he kept me updated throughout the day when the houses were available to reserve.
He would send timely updates of my plot, including progress pictures. Updated me if there were any issues (delays that can be expected when buying a new build).
Ian is professional, efficient, reliable and really conscientious about his service to customers. Can’t thank him enough.

I made contact regarding a letter I needed from Plumlife and the task was designated to Liam Jones.
He couldn’t have been more helpful and got back to me really quickly with the letter.
He also highlighted that my account was in credit and gave me details of what I’d need to do to reclaim it. He also confirmed it was a true credit after I’d got back to him querying it.
I can’t fault his actions and commend him for his service. If I ever need anything more from Plumlife I hope it’s Liam or someone equally conscientious who deals with it.

Jim our building manager at Park Hill here in Sheffield continues to do an outstanding job. Often coming in to sort emergencies in his own time, going out of his way to help residents whenever he can, etc etc. Other parts of the estate are managed by RMG and have tons of issues, not so here in Phase 1 where Mr Martin is in charge, long may he continue.

I live in a shared ownership property that is ran through Plumlife/Great Places. I just want to share my genuine experience of this company, as a customer/resident. Firstly, the communication is absolutely appalling. My handbook stated to email the directory, to log repairs and issues. From the get go soon as I lived here, a lot of emails get ignored. To describe the experience as stressful, doesn't do it justice. The house had so many issues, and required constant chasing up due to the lack of email replies. The project manager assigned to the site, is really bad at getting back to you. I raised a stage one complaint about this, and unfortunately it seems not much has changed. Communication is and continues to be a problem, people should not be ignoring emails and no other company would get away with this. I had to create clearly documented cases as evidence, to take this issue further due to no one taking responsibility within the organisation. Whilst compensation is nice, it shouldn't be necessary.
Now let's move onto finances. When you first move in, your mortgage and unowned share rent seem quite appealing. Yet as time goes on silly charges come out to play, which you are contracted to pay. How can buildings insurance go from £10 a month to nearly £30? Who signs these contracts which allow these ridiculous rises which are passed on to us. Next is the big increase to service charges, I see absolutely no benefit to the estate paying these. It seems it only benefits someone financially, and we get nothing from it. This week in fact I was advised there is no contract via Plumlife for service charges, and it's still the housing developer until Plumlife finds one. How is that the case for houses built circa Dec 2022?
Not a great experience at all, and the lack of care for residents is disturbing. I'd be more than happy to speak to someone in person regarding my experience. There needs to be much better communication on logging issues, the project manager themselves, and management. Ignoring emails is avoiding the issue in the hope it goes away.

I’ve lived in a Plumlife property for almost 2 years. On the plus side the house is lovely and sales staff were very attentive up until completion.
The negatives would be as follows - constant chasing of Plumlife, Great Places and Contractors to complete the snag list, most of which I had highlighted before taking ownership of the property, and finally finished just after the 1 year deadline.
There has been little contact from them since the 1 year deadline, though I had several letters and emails increasing the rent portion of my property (this has been increased 2 years running).
I queried what the properties directly opposite me were going to be before moving in, sales staff weren’t sure but said probably flats. The flats are actually housing association which wasn’t disclosed, (there was no mention of Great Places until I moved in), the rest of the development is shared ownership. Housing association tenants benefit from discounted gardening services which aren’t available to shared ownership tenants.
My most recent experience, was a query I sent via email 3 weeks ago regarding the future prospective financial growth of the property, (I was updating my life insurance). I haven’t as yet received a reply. I have noticed they seem capable of following up reviews left on here, if being read by Plumlife please feel free to reply to my email sent 18/06/24!
Whilst the idea of shared ownership is a good one, i don’t think it is being executed well by Plumlife/ Great Places.

They keep sending threatenning letters to pay them around £200 for a service i never used, didn't even know about them! I have never signed any contract or anything with them!!
I called for more info twice and both operators didn't actually know what services they offer, then asked for my email to send me a guide, never recieved it!
Emailed them a few times an all the email addresses i have found, no answer back for weeks!
Zero customer service, disgusting attitude in their letters threatenning to sue you and "lose your house", in their words.
Never agreed to share my data with them but somehow they got it and use it to blackmail me for money.
Will seek legal procedures and sue them.

I recently completed on a property & my sales advisor Ian Burns has been absolutely fantastic!
Ian kept me informed every step of the way. I didn’t have to chase for an update at all.
Ian was happy to answer any questions I had & nothing was too much trouble to answer. He was always very prompt & very efficient.
Excellent professional service, thorough and efficient. I would highly recommend Ian.
Ian also made the acquisition of the property as smooth and as hassle free as it could possibly be from the initial phone call to completion of the property and dealt with everything in a friendly & professional manner.
Keep up the good & excellent work Ian. You are a star & most importantly you are a credit to plumlife!!!
