I am completely rewriting this review. The original review was written 11/03/25, but my order got “fixed” in January of the new year, so buckle up.

I purchased a Revin branded shifter for my B5.5 VW Passat off of Revin's website based in Lithuania. This was NOT a custom/requested shifter and instead a product already listed on their website. It arrived 7 days after purchase which I'd say is good b/c of US Customs.

Upon arrival multiple things were missing out of the box. Most unserious was there was no branding on the box itself, unlike all of their social media posts. The shifter box mounting plate was missing, and the shifter mating plate (mates the Revin shifter to the shifter box) was manufactured incorrectly. So I couldn't even install the shifter until the box bracket arrived a week later after I contacted Revin, which seemed packaged carelessly in a plastic FedEx bag with bubble wrap.

During install, I was communicating with a Revin employee via Instagram with questions on how the shifter is designed to go into the car. I was left on read multiple times and gave up communicating because from my perspective they did not care about my input. I ended up figuring it out on my own but, as mentioned previously, there were problems with the hardware they provided.

My car is a 5 speed and all of the lower gears (2nd, 4th, reverse) had problems engaging due to how the shifter was lined up. Sometimes they felt crunchy. I was terrified the entire time I had this in my vehicle that I was gonna shred my gears. I physically could not move the shifter into the correct spot without cutting the brackets; there was not enough adjustability, so I left it as it was until I “got” the correct mating plate.

Following this experience I wrote my first review, to which the next day I woke up to an email straight from Revin's company director, and she was the only one who provided any genuine care and support for my entire experience. She apologized on behalf of the employee that failed to answer my questions and offered a free shift knob as compensation. I was very happy with her response and this is when I informed her/Revin's email address of my shifter's alignment issues. This was on November 13 2025. After some back and forth, I was told December 3 "[the new mating bracket] would ship out in the next 10 days".

Later, I got hit with a lot of FedEx clearance/import fees. I informed them over email and they provided a partial refund to pay for it. Not sure who was responsible but I was grateful.

So despite this, you might be wondering why I am leaving such a bad rated review. This is because of their damage control tendencies while I was waiting (VERY patiently!) for the correct mating bracket, which mind you, was never delivered.

So I informed them in early November, and on December 18th, I was told the "plate had shipped". Then the following day, they told me "[we] have tested the plate and a bit more needs cut out, [we] will refund you some money, just give us a few days, I am stopping the package, don't want to send you something that won't work". So this makes no sense because if they had already shipped the plate out they would've known beforehand that it would work. They also promised an ADDITIONAL refund to compensate but I believe this was damage control because that was never provided.

Then, 11 days later on December 29th, they provided a picture of the new mating bracket and promised to send it out after painting. It was finally shipped out on January 8th. However, due to their own negligence, the package got stuck in clearance in my country on January 15th, so I messaged Revin asking why (this never happened with anything else they sent). They said word for word, "Well we have nothing to do with this, just need to wait till Fedex clears that". So I called FedEx and they said the material of the item was not disclosed and the shipper (Revin) would have to provide that info, but I knew it's steel so I told customer service over the phone quite literally doing a job that was never supposed to be mine. I was really disappointed when they immediately assumed it was not their issue and I had to resolve it myself. At the time of writing this (2/6), the package has still not moved out of clearance.

All in all this was an absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable wait time I endured for such an expensive piece of hardware. This one goes for about $420USD, but their others are way more. I appreciate the refund and shift knob, but that is not what I cared the most about in the end. I cared about not damaging my transmission. I would absolutely not recommend Revin to anyone and I will be going with something else for future projects.

Great looking piece of equipment! Exceeded my expectations even! Great customer service, as they shipped fast and there were no tariffs to deal with! This shifter just gave new life to my 2000 Audi TT! Woohoo!

Well made high quality product

The shifter came very quickly and was a simple install and it made a night and day difference to the feeling of shifting id buy again from this company

Quality seems very good. I did not install the shifter but the buildquality seems very good.
Also the customerservice is excellent, I had a few questions and they were answered very fast.

I ordered a short shifter with the new style grip knob (red) and specifically noted that in the order form comments, but I received the original smooth knob. I didn’t feel like going through the hassle of getting it exchanged so I’m just going to use the original one that came with the short shifter.
Everything else is good.
