Always very easy dealing with Kitco. The coins were beautiful, in excellent condition and extremely well packaged

Communist Canuck's. The price is great if you have 5k or more to spend. But unbenounced to me before receiving purchase they require you to upload your I.D. for some bullshit KYC law up in maple syrup land. I wired the money. Meaning that, yes, I have already been verified in person by my bank. Horrible tidus experience, just spend the extra spread in the U.S.

kitco received my silver on January 30, 2026. It is March 24, 2026 and they still have not paid me. Kitco claims they have opened the box, verified the material and inventoried it without documenting which materials were mine when they were verifying my box. All my metals were mixed among their inventory. Although my metals have been verified as pure, they won't pay me, because they are unsure of which coins were mine, even though we already agreed to a set amount and have proof that the weight delivered matches the agreed upon sale. In short, Kitco is holding me the customer hostage for their inventory hiccup. This is asinine. I no world would a consumer be able to delay payment to Kitco because " they opened a bunch of boxes and forget which metals were kitco's." even though all material received was pure and placed into inventory with other authentic metals. I will file a fraud claim if this isn't resolved asap.

I have used Kitco for sell orders multiple times in the past without issue. However, my most recent transaction has been extremely problematic.
I initiated a sell order for 5 American Gold Eagles on February 9, 2026. Initially, I was told there would be a 5 business day delay, which later became 10, and eventually up to 30 business days. This felt like a bait and switch. After nearly a month, on March 9, I was informed that the package did not contain the five coins.
They then initiated an internal review and insurance process, stating it could take up to 90 business days from when the claim was opened, not from when I shipped the package.
I followed all shipping instructions carefully, including securely packing and double boxing the contents. Despite this, I was required to provide photos and even obtain a notarized letter explaining how I packaged the shipment, at my own expense.
According to UPS tracking, the package was reported damaged by Kitco on March 6. However, on March 10, both the investigation and insurance claim were closed by UPS because they were unable to contact the receiver, which in this case is Kitco.
On March 16, I discovered this myself through UPS tracking and confirmed it directly with a UPS representative. Kitco had no knowledge that the claim had been closed and had been operating as if everything was proceeding normally. I had to inform them of the status. This indicates they were not actively monitoring the claim.
Had I not taken the initiative to check and follow up, this may have gone unnoticed entirely.
Kitco has since said they are “following up,” but I have received no meaningful update. They continue to repeat that the process may take 90 business days, despite clear mishandling of the situation.
I find it highly concerning that processing delays increased significantly, followed by a claim that my nearly $25,000 shipment was empty, refusal to provide footage of the package being opened, and then a failure to properly manage the UPS claim.
At this point, I am still out $25,000 and have serious doubts about whether this will be resolved properly given how the case has been handled so far.

Nice that Kitco provides free shipping to them. They answer their correspondence in 24h. Takes about 28 calendar days to process sales to them right now - AI advises not to lock in price but let Kitco price items when they arrive at their facility to expedite; probably best to check this out with them.

I was charged by Kitko 1300$ on my credit card after I cancelled my shipment. How this make any sense? This is total scam! In comparison if I bought gold from ETF and sold it with some loss, the Gold ETF doesn't take all the profits! There is a buyer who benefit, no the ETF take it all! With Kitko, there is not a buyer on the other side! So they go ahead and take the difference on the top of the cancelation fee. What a profitable business! I am going to complain to BBB for this scam. Besides they were overcharging taxes, claiming the state taxes so this was the reason for my cancellation!
They also told me that I will receive a call to discuss the situation. They were lying. I didn't receive any call. Week later, in Sunday afternoon my credit card was changed with 1300$ they claimed" because of the spot price faulen. No transaction was made, no buyer on the other side to benefit. Well Kitko took it all without moving a finger.
How this can be legal?

On January 23, 2026, I entered into a sales agreement with Kitco to sell my silver bullion at an agreed-upon price. The silver was received by Kitco on January 28, 2026, as evidenced by the provided screenshot. However, I was informed that the processing, testing, and release of funds would take 3-5 days. Subsequently, the timeframe was extended to 10 days, then to 15 days, and finally to 30 days. This situation is highly unprofessional from a company like Kitco, which prominently displays your seal of approval on its website. This behavior borders on malfeasance. I have had to call Kitco daily, which is a 30-45 minute ordeal, to be informed that they have not had time to process my order. Despite my efforts to connect with a human representative, the calls frequently disconnect. While I understand that Kitco may have been overwhelmed by the sudden surge in silver prices, it is concerning that they have not increased their staff or working hours to accommodate the demand. Furthermore, the longer I am without my funds, the greater the percentage loss on the $30,000 investment. However, Kitco is profiting from the daily holding of this $30,000. This situation raises serious concerns about potential malfeasance. In my numerous attempts to speak with a human representative at Kitco regarding this issue, I was told that a note would be made and the matter would be escalated. However, I have received no further communication from Kitco beyond emails instructing me to be patient. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Kitco’s treatment of its customers, especially considering your high endorsement. As of this note, I'm going on 36 days without my funds being disbursed!

We have been waiting for payment 30 calendar days since being notified our gold was received.
No communication has been initiated by Kitco.
We have called 2 times, first being told "it may take 2 weeks", then "30 days".
I have zero confidence that we will be paid.
Follow up to Kitco reply which you will see below.
Kitco did reach out about an hour after I posted my initial review. However their statement that all was taken care of, though perhaps true on their end, is not fully accurate. We waited another 36 plus hours for the funds to actually transfer. So overall, a dismal experience.

Sell to them if you want them to hold your metals for more than a month with no payment. When you start to lose your patience with them, they will tell you they will not skip the verification process...That isn't what I want you to do, but I do expect you to keep up your end of the contract as you expected me to do. Two weeks was acceptable, more than a month is not what I agreed to.
Date of sale to Kitco: 1/28/26
They got my package: 2/2/26
Here I sit on 3/3/26 with nothing to show for it.
A Better Business Bureau review was also filed because this is all I can do at the moment: warn others.

They could not deliver the product I purchased, or give a delivery date, they would not reimburse my money. Instead they offered an exchange for an equivalent product at the old price (original purchase day), when 2 months later the market had gone down by two thousand dollar value. Nothing we could do, they had our money so we took the deal. They will not see us again. Thank you for your response Kitco, however the item we purchased showed in stock. Guess you over sold it and could not deliver or tell us when you could deliver in the futur. You should have let us cancel the order you could not fill. Why will you not return our calls ?

I sold my metal to KITCO on January 19th when the price was still going up. I received a fixed quote, but I never received my money. Now it is more than 30 days later with no resolution date, no check, and a sizeable amount of money sitting with Kitco not earning anything. They have had more than a 30 day free float paid for by me. I have called customer service 3 times with no estimated date of resolution. Their only response is "we are working on it". Bottom line: I have never, ever, had a major company do this. They are NOT reputable, they are NOT honest, they are NOT responsive and it is frustrating that I have no recourse but to wait. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Maybe they are good to buy from, but I will never sell to them again.
Update: Kitco clearly doesn't like my review and asked for my transaction information to demonstrate it is a "real" complaint. I see several other complaints that are EXACTLY the same as mine. I read all the 5-star reviews - most of them are FAKE. FAKE people, FAKE information, FAKE FAKE FAKE. Most these reviews show the person knows NOTHING about metals trading. If my issue gets fixed quickly after this, I will let you know. Otherwise, use caution and do business at your own risk.
UPDATE: As of today, March 13th, I have not received my money. I received a call from a "manager" on February 19th promising he would look into it, and offering a free ACH bank transfer of the proceeds. On February 23rd, I received an email saying my metal had been processed and a check would be issued on February 24th or 25th. Note this is not the free ACH transfer promised. I called today because "where is my money"!!!!! Well, they "think" the check was issued on March 9th and they don't know if it has been mailed yet. This is what you get from KITCO. As an aside, I made a sale last week to my usual dealer on Thursday March 5th and was paid by ACH on Tuesday March 10th. So in other words, not only does KITCO provide terrible service, terrible communication and terrible turn-around time, they are actually LIARS. The industry is NOT overwhelmed. My first and last business with KITCO. If you love them - good for you. If you are considering them, DON'T. Use SD bullion, APMEX, Miles Franklin or any of the other reputable dealers.

Extremely disappointed with my experience selling to Kitco. They outright lie!
We completed a transaction on January 21, 2026, sending silver coins to Kitco. According to UPS tracking, our package was delivered to their facility more than three weeks ago. Since then, they have had possession of our metals while withholding payment.
Communication has been very poor. We have called multiple times and were repeatedly told our wire transfer would be sent “any day.” On February 11, we spoke with a representative who assured us the funds would be wired within 24–48 hours and no later than February 13. We were also told we would receive a credit and the wire fee waived due to the delay.
None of that happened.
Instead, on February 18, we received an automated email from Kitco claiming they were still “awaiting shipment,” despite having our metals for weeks. That level of internal miscommunication is alarming for a company handling high-value transactions.
At this point, our funds have been withheld for nearly a month after delivery, with multiple broken promises and inconsistent information from customer service.
We entered this transaction in good faith and expected professionalism from a company of Kitco’s reputation. Unfortunately, this experience has been the opposite.
I hope this situation is resolved quickly, but based on our experience so far, I would advise others to proceed with caution.

I sold metals to Kitco a month ago. I have called them 4 times, every time it is the same lame excuse that they have high volumes and their processing times are extended. Your problems are your problems and not your customers, get more staff and stop penalizing your customers! I have been promised calls by managers and expedited efforts to resolve my issues but as yet I have not received any calls. Do not sell to Kitco, you will have no idea as to if or when you will get paid and all you will receive is lies and delays. Update: I called again today and was told that a manager will look at my issue, you are totally uninterested.
so now you want my details to “fix this issue” still the same old BS that you are busy with orders. I’ve contacted the BBB and will contact the FTC.

Kitco process is too long and communication is lacking. There is no communication or updates from Kitco on when I will be paid. The website and customer service said 2-10 business days and that changed to 2-15 days with no notice. High volume is not acceptable to me since I have information without spending time calling. It's a one-way process which keeps me in the dark. There is no expediting this rigid process. Hopefully I will get direct deposit on February 24th, the 15th day of this nightmare.

Things to consider. They delay shipping. They take quite a markup on silver coins. They may not buy it back unless it meets the minimum buyback amount. This may be $10,000. So look carefully at the transaction requirements and imagine if you were selling the same thing back to them. If you are buying pool amounts it is unallocated, so you can be left holding just a piece of paper. They have other things like allocated units, but it is at a premium. I am not sure that any other vendor is the same. Be cautious.
They don’t provide a link to write a review that I can find.

If I could give zero stars I would. Kitco is a scam. They deliberately hold you metal until the market falls before processing it for payment. ANY other business doing this type of nefarious BS would be out of business in no time. I am seeing many negative reviews and they echo my comments. Sell you metal anywhere but Kitco.
