It was pretty painless. I had to wire them the money because the limits were too high for them to take it directly out of my checking account. My bank wired the money that morning and I believe they received it and wired it to my foreign account in Canada the same day and it showed up into my account the next day. You can’t get any quicker than that!

I have used OFX for about 8 years and was happy. I did simple currency exchanges for inventory purchases. In the last year they have gone from 5 stars to less than 1 star with the changes. Nothing works as it used to, much more complicated. It seems they changed their website and business model to include many, many NEW services that I don't need, and they no longer can hadle simple currency exchanges. Turned from super smooth to super crap.

My experience with OFX has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I initiated a transfer on the 20th of May and carefully completed all of the required information. Shortly afterward, I received an email stating that my transfer booking did not have a receiver listed and that I needed to rebook the transfer. I followed their instructions and responded to confirm the rebooking. Unfortunately, this resulted in a duplicate transfer being created, and both transfers have since been held up for reasons that have never been clearly explained.
Over the course of the following week, I contacted customer service multiple times. Each representative reassured me that everything looked correct and that the transfer would be processed. Despite these assurances, the promised transfer date came and went, and the funds were never received. The status on the website now simply shows the transfer date as "TBA," with no meaningful explanation or update.
When it became clear that the transfer was not moving forward, I requested that the funds be returned to me. I was then informed that OFX required proof of the transfer from my bank. I promptly provided the requested documentation three days ago, yet I have received no follow-up calls, no updates, and no communication regarding either the transfer or the refund request.
The most frustrating part of this experience has been the lack of transparency and communication. I have spent considerable time following instructions, providing documentation, and contacting customer service, only to receive repeated assurances without any resolution. At this point, my funds remain tied up, and I still do not have a clear timeline or explanation.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend OFX. Delays can happen, but the lack of accountability, inconsistent information, and poor communication have made this an unacceptable experience.

I’ve been getting promotional emails from OFX for a while but never used their service until the company I have been using underwent a trading halt which prevented them remitting funds to the UK.
I decided to give OFX a go as they are Sydney based.
What an amazing difference.These people (OFX) are super good!!The funds were in the UK within two days with no drama.

Moving house is a very stressful time, even more so when moving overseas. All of our concerns were handled in a super efficient way by the team at OFX. It's very scary seeing your whole lives fiscal worth moving through cyberspace. All I can say is that although I didn't sleep well the night of the Bpay transaction, you should.. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend OFX to anyone looking to securely transfer funds. A big shout out and massive thanks to Lily, who handled our account with professionalism at every turn and didn't let my constant questions, and concerns, take the joy from her voice once.

Waited 10 minutes, twice on the phone. Problem with the transaction, now with the compliance team. Ok it has been with them for 7 days - when will they get back to me. I can't say I am in customer service. 24 hrs later no response - called again - still with compliance - when will they get back to me - I can't say. I have used them a few times over the last ten years to transfer large sums - won't be using them again.

The most unprofessional and worst company possibly in existence. They have held my money for over 3 weeks and refuse to return my funds. Constantly making excuses asking to provide documentation. When I provide the exact documentation they ask for they then say you need to provide another document. Four times in this cycle and still no resolve. Customer service are completely clueless and cannot answer basic questions.

I have been using OFX for international money transfers for about 10 years. I have never had a problem with their service and typically have enjoyed better exchange rates than what banks offer. My recent experience was no difference, transferring Euros to Australian dollars within 24 hours of initiating the transfer. Top service I feel confident to recommend.

The simplicity of the whole transaction, from quoting the current exchange rate right through to the funds arriving in my overseas account within hours, provided excellent service. Their communication is good, they keep you informed of exactly how far along your transaction is progressing. In the past I have used Customer Services and they have always been extremely helpful, polite and respectful.
