My wife and I recently used OFX to transfer a large amount of USD. Moving that kind of money is incredibly nerve-wracking to say the least!
The bank rate to transfer was terrible in comparison to OFX but we were very very nervous about using a third party.
Thankfully, we had Richard looking after us. He made the whole process entirely stress-free. He was incredibly patient, kept us in the loop every step of the way, and made sure everything went perfectly smoothly. When you're dealing with retirement savings, having someone on the other end who actually communicates and knows what they are doing makes all the difference.

This is a poorly thought out app. First, my credit union told me to use it however NOT ONE person there had actually made a transfer. I tried to get it set up. Was insanely hard, and then when i tried to link in my account, the credit union was not even listed! No one at OFX or the credit union could figure it out. That was one year ago.
NOW, i wanted to wire money again, Canada to USA. Went to Credit Union. THEIR tech person wa able to set it up. BUT, now they emailed at 1:40AM wanting more info. Called them at 04:00 and spoke with them. Thought it was done. NOW I get an email saying they need an INVOICE! Dont have one, not needed by me. Compliance insists they said. So waiting for a call to tellme EXACTLY why because if i want to tranfer money to a friend, i should be allowed to do it. NOT GOING TO USE THIS APP EVER AGAIN. WILL GO TO THE CREDIT UNION AND LIKELY MOVE OUT MY MONEY TO AN INSTITUTION THAT FUNCTIONS BETTER.

It got even worse. I supplied an invoice. Then you wanted a tenancy agreement. Then. Beyond that you insisted on a pdf of my bank statement! That is full over reach by ofx. Not required! Never going to give that to you!
I spoke with a compliance manager. She insisted they had the right to adk. I agree. I have the right to refuse. Ofx had my money, but they refunded quickly. I have closed the account and removed this app. I have sent a full overview to the credit union. I recommend they discontinue with ofx.
This level of interpretation of compliance in the name of anti money laundering and fraud protection is a blatant invasion of privacy. Disgusting!

I was having no issues with them until they just locked my account after trying to make a couple of card payments that weren't strange or dodgy.
Zero communication from them or their partner bank.
Absolutely terrible way to treat customers.

They held my money for weeks, refusing to return my money while dragging me through a never ending cycle of document requests. Every time I provided exactly what they ask for, they just invent another excuse and demand something else.
I'have never submitted this much documents to access my money on Monetian . I don't know why these outfit can't maintain the same consistency.

The smoothest and fastest transaction. And great telephone support too. Money transferred to OFX USA on Thursday and into my account in Sydney by Saturday morning. Very happy with my FX rate too. Plus every step you get a text so kept fully informed. Have used OFX half-dozen times and always been spot-on.

I have been using them for 20 years. Since they were McQarrie. Never had any significant problem’s. A few very minor ones & support was immediate. Their transfer speed depended on the recipients country & bank. From a couple of hours to immediate. I highly reccomend them. Much better than any bank I have used.

So disappointing. Was sold the dream story of fast transfers, a premium rate and no fees. Unfortunately it takes days for money to cross the Tasman and I had to negotiate a better rate.

Very poor customer service . Slow transfers and bad working practices.
Insisted that I produce invoices to send a couple of hundred euros abroad but didn’t ask me once when I sold a property for any paperwork because they were making money. It’s now been 12 days I’ve been waiting for a refund but unlike the immediate transfer into their account it takes days to transfer it back . A transfer company that can’t transfer is not worth using
