Got deferred for low protein (5.7) at…

Got deferred for low protein (5.7) at Octapharma Plasma. No clear explanation was given other than “don’t keep donating,” which doesn’t make sense when you rely on donations for income.

If frequent donating causes low protein, there should be clearer guidance upfront on how to prevent repeated deferrals instead of leaving donors stuck in a cycle of failing screenings.

Overall, the process feels inconsistent and poorly communicated.

So I’ve been going to octapharma in…

So I’ve been going to octapharma in Pasadena Texas for about a year now. When I first started going there it was a great experience suddenly the machines started acting up while returning my blood. At first one of the phlebotomist would come tap the filter on the machine and I’d be happily receiving my return. Although frustrating having to wait for an attendant to come fix it I could live with that. Today when the machine of course did it again…which by the way they said is to much fat in my blood…I didn’t eat the day before or the day of this time…so anyway…I was told I would have to sit there for an hour and watch the machine do nothing before they would come and fix it…MORAL OF THE STORY…. You might wanna try somebody with better machines…my food intake has never changed in my life and I never had this happen before…unless you just like to donate all day of your life to their crappy machines!!!!

Lack of Customer Service by location & Call Center

I’m a returning donor and have always complied with every request from the center — whether it’s updating my vaccine records or providing a current list of medications. This past Monday, I visited the center and was given forms to have completed by my doctor. His medical assistant confirmed that they were sent over the following day (Tuesday).

Since then, I’ve heard absolutely nothing from the center. No updates. No confirmation about whether I can return to donate. I took the initiative to call the main number this morning and spoke to ChrisAnn. After waiting on hold for 2 minutes, she came back and said she couldn’t get in touch with the local office — and then told me to “call back in 30 minutes.”

This is absolutely absurd. The lack of communication and customer service at Octapharma is unacceptable. It's shocking that they don’t have a direct line or dedicated staff to handle communication between their own call center and donation centers.

I’m posting this review not just to vent, but because I know Octapharma does monitor their online reviews — yet, despite that, nothing seems to change. The people who take the time to donate and help save lives deserve much better than this. We are not just a number.

What is wrong with this company

What is wrong with this company? They used to hire great, friendly, caring staff member now they do what they want when they want with no regard to how you feel. Visalia CA is the worst I have been to. Everytime its something else. This time I asked her to put the needle in the same spot as last time like ive been doing for years. She agreed and then went above it which I told her specifically not to do. Her coworker said "oh well maybe she didnt feel comfortable so she doesn't have to". That was rude and if she doesnt feel comfortable get someone else or a new job.

This place is a mess

This place is a mess. I arrived at 5:30 p.m. to donate plasma and did not leave until 9:00 p.m. When I mentioned this to the phlebotomist all she had to say was that they had a lot of new donors! Well duh! Then why don't you hire more phlebotomists and more screeners! The line was out the door and there was only one screener and two phlebotomists on the floor. They make tons of money off our plasma so the least they can do is have enough people working there so you do not spend 3 1/2 to make $50.00! If you can figure out a way to make extra money doing something else, I would avoid Octapharma at all cost! The specific location I go to is the Octapharma located in North Fort Myers, FL.

Hi it's Shilo again

Hi it's Shilo again. Decatur location. I've been dealing with health issues and still yet no judgement. I appreciate Sandra and the way she just gets it when I'm try to explain something...there's no explanation needed. She did a good stick no problems. Dani in front very familiar and no matter how many times I take long breaks she always remembers me. Always ready to roll I call her Ms alpaca got her eyelashes on fleek nice appearance. Thank you guys so much ...u also help me in recovery ty...

extremely dissappointed not about the money it about saving person life im putting great deedto the world and society yes i mean yes ill go another site dang you dont threaten person i was at langley park maryland one i understand if your rude yes you can be band or barred i was rubbing my eyes i wasnt even sleep yet still the center allows patients to text and talk on phone nothing gets done i see what it is im in poor area langley park this person dont known nothing i tell him if i see you sleep im gonna ban you.do not donate women told me black american women havey set.say it to white women she wouldnt say that.i bet you not.i dont appricate be threaten espically supervisor same women constanlty on me i understand pressue builds up pump your fist not high pressure relax arm i want go langley park one im trying help and save person life i will go diffrent place i hope coperate see this iwant coperate see this message i left mesage customer service

High standards, excellent experiences.

My closest center is in N. Fort Myers, FL (#114 I think?) and they are EXCELLENT! The place is always spotless, the staff is warm and caring and fun! Proper procedures are followed, and they're always working to improve - like cross-training all employees so that they can float to different areas to respond to higher demand, thus reducing bottlenecks and wait times. It's just a fun experience. I've been donating nearly 2x weekly since November of 2023, so more than 100 donations.

Never again!

The last few times me and my grandma went we both had a reaction and the staff were very rude and told us we need to change our diet and we always eat healthy before we go we will never be back here highly unprofessional!

Great place

It is a great place to donate they are always done in a timely manner they always make sure to look out for my safety even if it is something that I don't agree like for instance from sleeping while I'm donating knowing that I shouldn't be sleeping they make sure to always remind me to wake up and that is for my benefit and my benefit only is a great place to donate.

Free to do what ever yall want

It so sad how corporations and companies get away with discrimination and treating protected ADA consumer like trash. It's been 3day from my incident and nothing not even a call or message
Sad how there are managers like marina and the whole floor could be so disrespectful and discriminating on me for being me. And how hard it is to get ahold of anyone at corporate. Now I think how some of those people who go back and take matters into there own hands feel like cause there's nothing and no one doing anything about it. I went back and spoke to the other manager and Albert tells me i can't donate there anymore. And me in other hands can't afford a lawyer so like I said nothing well be done cause it's always the same for us Hispanics cause there's never enough resources when it comes to us

Samuel R.

I have been donating for a few years. Whenever Samuel R. at the Tampa location sticks me, he never asks if I'm allergic to iodine, he never asks me my name and DOB. Then when he disconnects me, he doesn't ask me if I'm allergic to adhesives and he doesn't tell me how much I get paid or my next donation date. He is the only one who doesn't do any of that. I know the employees are required to do it, because everyone else does those things. It's as if he thinks he doesn't have to because he has been there for a long time.

Twana is 5 Stars!

Sometimes there is up to 35-40 minute wait to get hooked up, but Twana at North Fort Myers,FL location is SUPERB! w/ difficult veins and her spot on needle placement is what makes the wait worth while. Thank You! Twana
