Oades Residential Surveying Reviews

Richard was brilliant throughout the whole process. The survey was thorough and clearly explained, and he took the time to speak to me afterwards to talk through his findings and answer all my questions. I came away feeling like I had a clear understanding of the property and what I needed to consider before going ahead.
He was also responsive, friendly and generous with his time. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone buying a property in Sheffield. Thank you Richard!

Thanks so much Richard for your prompt survey of our house.
Your report is comprehensive, and well presented, which is very helpful when navigating the complexity of probate!
I would have no hesitation in recommending you.
Thanks again!

Richard is both responsive and reliable. He is also very thorough and getting the report from him definitely alerted us to the steps that we needed to take pre purchase. Aside from examining and reporting on the structural and cosmetic elements of the house, there were other things that he suggested that we do. One was to get an electrical safety test. The wiring was deemed a danger and will cost thousands to rectify. We would not have known this had it not been for his report. Totally recommend

Found some significant issues with a property we were going to buy that really helped us. My friend, who is also a surveyor, helped explain a few things about Richard’s survey and she said it was the most accessible, thorough and detailed survey she’s ever seen which is a massive compliment.

We were really pleased with Rich's survey on our prospective house. We had a standard level 2 Homebuyer Survey, and Rich explained exactly what would happen in terms of process, and also offered aerial views of the roof via drone so we could be better informed about the state. Once the survey was done, Rich offered a call with us to talk us through his initial findings, before sending the report swiftly to us within the week. He also remained available for us to ask any follow up questions.

We would not hesitate to use Rich again if we need a survey in future.

Richard undertook a level 2 survey for us, which was completed to a high standard. It was incredibly detailed and included drone photography to be able to see the condition of the roof. Richard also phoned us on the day of the survey so that he could make us aware of the main points / issues. Great service, will use again and would highly recommend.

I asked Richard to produce an evaluation report, as I was pressed for time. The rapid response and professionalism were above the standard I am used to.

I am very thankful for his services.

I am happy to use him in the future and would recommend him to anyone that value speed and accuracy.

Rich was so helpful throughout the entire process. He does a call before the survey, after he has done the survey on the day, and was happy take calls after we read the report. Would highly recommend.

Professional service with an easy to understand report produced at the end. Richard took an effort to ensure I understood the contents of his report and potential impacts. I would recommend him to anyone!

I can’t recommend Richard enough for the work he did on my Level 2 survey. Richard operated quickly, professionally and maintained contact throughout the process. Giving me a call immediately after the survey to highlight key issues or concerns and produced a thorough RICS report for me to review. I was working to a tight timescale for buying the house and Richard was able to accommodate for this. I had many questions afterwards that Richard fielded promptly, leaving me with no reservations on the results of the survey. Richard’s extensive experience working on properties in Sheffield was exactly what I needed, giving me expert advice on matters I have no idea about.
Thanks Richard

Richard was fantastic and I cannot recommend him highly enough! I used his services for a level 2 survey for a house purchase.

I am a first time buyer so there was a lot of uncertainty going into the buying process, but Richard was reassuring and professional throughout the process.

The survey was arranged quickly with the estate agents, and Richard arranged a call beforehand to go over any questions I had about the survey and the property itself which was very helpful. After the survey he gave me a quick call to summarise his findings and give his opinion, which really put my mind at ease.

I received the survey report promptly, and I was very impressed with the level of detail, the included photography, and the drone roof survey. Richard was also happy to answer some additional questions I had after reading through the report, and give his advice on next-steps.

Overall, I have a had a wonderful experience, and Richard provided an excellent service at a very competitive price.

I’m really glad I chose Richard Oades as my surveyor. He arranged a pre-survey call where we discussed the upcoming survey. The comprehensive report was easy to understand and he was always available to discuss anything afterwards. This made a potentially stressful part of the process much smoother. I highly recommend Richard.

Richard is forensic and really takes the time to answer each of your questions, hugely appreciated.

Rich has been an amazing help through this process, as first time buyers we had a lot of questions and concerns about the property and what a survey would look like. Throughout the whole process Rich was patient with us and made sure we understood all the information that was being provided to us, the report he provided was very thorough and concise, the photos throughout the survey are also incredibly helpful as it allowed us to properly understand what Rich was looking at. We cannot recommend Rich enough, he has been amazing.

We cannot recommend Richard highly enough. From start to finish, he always answered all questions we had as swiftly and as detailed as possible. We had a level 2 survey on a property we were in the process of purchasing and Richard was very thorough in all his searches and extremely professional throughout.

Working in the mortgage industry, I’ve had a lot of dealings with the big surveyors & some less than ideal experiences. This was what made me want to look at a local, independent firm & I’m so glad that I did. Richard was brilliant throughout, his communication before was great & set up everything well for the appointment. As he was doing the survey, he talked me through everything so that I knew what he was looking at and the reasons behind it. I can’t recommend him highly enough, if I ever need a survey again he will be my first port of call & any friends or family that need one will be sent in his direction.

Richard responded to our request quickly and visited the property within a week. We had a call with Richard in advance of his visit to the property, which was helpful, as well as immediately after his visit. The report was comprehensive and thorough. Really grateful for Richard's communication and quick turn around. Would recommend Richard to others :)

Fantastic service from Rich, the report was thorough and easy to follow, would recommend to anyone looking for a surveyor.

I cannot recommend Richard highly enough. He replied to messages promptly and was very patient with questions throughout the process explaining his findings and addressing any concerns we had. His report was thorough and detailed, providing us with all the information we required. Thank you Richard

I have previously submitted a review however since then I have had further dealings with Richard and want to reflect that in my review.

I have had to go back to Richard for a few updates (nothing to do with his work, just technicalities from Help to buy) and he has been very helpful. Always responds quickly and nothing is any trouble for him.

Will definitely be recommending him to friends and family :)
