Trevor it was a blast having you down! Thanks so much for crushing the fish with us and battling the elements alongside our team. We look forward to welcoming you back to NNL next year.

This is an incredible fishery

This is an incredible fishery. The vast amount of baitfish make for a lot of tarpon as well as other species. The permit fishery does not seem to be well understood. Accommodations were good but basic, nearby restaurants were just ok. I signed on to use lodge rods and reels which didn’t get conveyed to the guides, but they scrambled and I had decent equipment. There seems to be a lot of area as yet unexplored. Boats were good, but the guides were outstanding.

Hey David,
Greetings from the NNL Crew.

Thank you for making the trip down with Jon Y’s group and for taking the time to leave a great review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the fishery and had positive interactions with our guides—they’re truly the heart of what we do.

Permit are among the most difficult species to pattern anywhere in the world, but after years of dedicated scouting, logging, and observing the tides and moon phases, we’re proud of the deep knowledge we’ve built of this unique fishery. While they can be elusive and lets be blunt a**holes, that's part of what draws dedicated permit anglers to Puerto Rico. We always want to give anglers the best possible shot at landing a PR permit of a lifetime.

Our apologies for any mix-up on gear. Communication around lodge gear is always handled pre-arrival, but for security and maintenance purposes, we store all equipment off-site at the guide house. Our standard loaner setup includes Hardy Marksman V rods and Hardy reels—top-quality gear we’re proud to offer at no cost to our clients.

We’re constantly refining and growing, and feedback like yours helps us get better. Thanks again for fishing with us—we’d love the chance to host you again and show you even more of what Puerto Rico has to offer. Let's go explore some unexplored waters!

Tight Lines,
The No Name Team

Wonderful Tarpon Fishing Lodge Experience

Our group of six anglers, ranging from novice to experienced, all enjoyed an excellent time at No Name Lodge. The guides were eager to make our time on their boats enjoyable, sharing their knowledge, giving helpful and patient assistance, all the while adding good humor. Truely professional. everyone in our group successfully landed tarpon throughout the week with other species mixed in (snook, snapper, and almost a permit!). The lodge was very comfortable and dinners at the various walkable restaurants in town were all excellent, economical, and provided an excellent feel to the culture of the island. No Name Lodge succeed in all aspects, and everyone in our group is ready to return. Thank you Cooper and Matt for offering such a well-run operation with attention to all the details to ensure a wonderful experience for your guests.

Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughtful review! It means the world to us that your entire group had a great experience—from the fishing action and variety of species to the vibe of the town and the hospitality at the lodge.

We’re especially happy to hear that the guides made the week memorable for anglers of all experience levels. That’s what it’s all about—good times on the water, shared stories, and a few hard-earned fish along the way (we’ll get that permit next time!).

We appreciate you choosing No Name Lodge and can’t wait to welcome you all back. Until then—tight lines and safe travels!

If you like Permit, you’ll love this place

I have stayed with NNL in both Boqueron and Salinas. I have enjoyed both regions. Multiple permit shots a day is the norm. Wading is the most common method, which I enjoy over fishing off a skiff because it gives a much better chance to “set up” on the fish.
I hooked permit on both locations, but have yet to land one! You can chalk that up to learning the game, but I’ll tell you the opportunity is REAL and the fish are generally bigger than I’ve seen elsewhere. I’ll be back for more!
The guides are competent, timely and always prepared for the day. Cooper always communicates well. A1 operation.

Donn! You are the man!

Thank you for the awesome review—and for fishing with us at both Boquerón and Salinas! It’s always a pleasure having anglers return, especially those who truly appreciate the challenge and reward of permit fishing on foot. We couldn’t agree more: the opportunity here is real, and the fish are no joke.

We’re rooting for that first landed permit on your next trip—because you’ve absolutely earned it. Thanks for trusting our guides, for recognizing the effort behind the operation, and for being part of the No Name Lodge experience.

See you back out there soon.

People are just awesome

People are just awesome. Guides are top notch and they really try for a smaller operation compared to the bigger lodges.

Tarpon all over, snook around, and permit shots can be had.

If you are lucky to get a lodge dinner, it’s ridiculously well cooked.

Tarpon Fishing in PR with No Name Lodge

This fly fishing trip to PR for Tarpon was incredible. No Name Lodge has got it nailed down! The trip started with being picked up from the airport in new Toyota Tacomas by the friendly guides. Then taken to the lodge that was clean and spacious. It comfortably slept six people. One of the owners Matt was there with us. He lives in PR and has the fishing locations nailed down. He set everyone up with gear who needed it. The rods and reels were new. Every day was a short drive to the boat launch and a quick ride to a different beautiful location with Tarpon swimming near the boat. The boats were clean and well maintained. The guides were knowledgable, put us on fish and gave instruction as needed. This trip exceeded expectations in every way! We also booked Travel Creel who provided meals that put it over the top! I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to catch large Tarpon in a beautiful location!

The fishing is top notch. The quality of the tarpon fishery is really something to experience and the guides (Matt Jeff, Diego, Jake) are all very knowledgeable and easy to fish with.

GREAT TIMES AT NO NAME LODGE, BOQUERON, PUERTO RICO

No Name Lodge gave me an experience of a lifetime. The guides are so personable and bend over backwards to make sure you have all you need. The fishing was amazing! The location of the lodge is so close to the downtown and the accommodations allowed for good rest and peaceful moments. Our guide Melanie was fantastic. I would go again next week if I could. Everyone should take the time to experience Boqueron and No Name Lodge. Food was also excellent
