Carpet right need to change their courier provider

Our experience with Network4 and Carpetright is similar to many reviews we've read below. We ordered a 6' bed from Carpetright and were advised it was to be delivered by Netowrk4. The driver rang about an hour before the delivery to say he had a 5' and 4' base on the vehicle and what did we want to do!! Obviously a 4 and 5' base doesn't marry up to A 6' bed. I suggested he go back to their depot and get the right bed! It's clear from the way the conversation goes that they want you to cancel the delivery as they can then mark the 'non delivery' down as against the customer and not their fault. Many days on the phone with Carpetright and their finance providers Hitachi got Network4 to redeliver, albeit a week later by then and we had to sleep on an inflatable bed for a week! Bed arrives with correct bases etc but the mattress is damaged, so I guess it will be another slog and more weeks before it's changed.

I get the impression that the store staff are fed up with Network4 and it's a battle for them to get anything moving. Initially Network4 offered a delivery slot that would have had us waiting 2 weeks. They admitted they load their vans and the error with the base was theirs but you feel they just don't care about customer service. To be fair the Network4 delivery drivers were good chaps but there is clearly something wrong with this company at its core.

It would be my recommendation that you shouldn't buy a bed from Carpetright if it's being delivered by Network4. Vote with your feet and go elsewhere until they change their courier service; else be prepared for a potential long hard slog - reminding all parties of their duties under the Sale Goods Act, Consumer Protection Act etc.

Carpet right have thus far offered us £100 in compensation which is derisory to say the least.

Awful

They lost one of my boxes. Promised to deliver next week. Then canceled that appointment 1 hour before planned delivery. After many days and calls (their number is paid) they delivered product but it was damaged. They hide a hole on the box with address label.

Only gave one star because none wasnt …

Only gave one star because none wasnt an option. Ordered bed through carpetright who use this dreadfull company. Aranged delivery date recieved time slot the day before delivery via text. Then on the morn around 9 was left a voicemail saying i would not recieve del due to missing item, rang straight back told matress was missing but bbase and headboard on van , when i said this was not gud enough as my bed had been removed and had nothing to sleep on she then informed me nothing had been loaded onto van and basically it wasnt there problem surely when items go missing from there premises it should be there problem!! Staff need training in customer service . Then took issue up with carpetright who bent over backwards to try and resolve issue only to get the same respone and be told to reorder items. I am now sleeping on a poor quality roll up matress on the floor which carpetright supplied until matter is resolved. Network 4 need to understand that without customers like us ordering products they would be out of a job so they need to clean act up as reading other reviews customers see to be of the same opinion .

Still undelivered

I've bought a matress for my new flat but have been sleeping on my sofa 3 weeks and lost 2 days earnings and I still haven't got the mattress. From sending it to wrong depots or it magically not being put in the van they have not got anything right. Also you pay a premium phone number and there's no managers available.

Incompetent idiots and cowards

Was given a time slot of 0730-1030 for a delivery. 0945 get a phone call saying the van had broken down and they cannot deliver today. Not acceptable. As a delivery company with vans, they have no contingency plan for a broken down vehicle. They said they would call me with updates which never happened. I had to dial an 0845 that ended up costing me £29 because they have no alternative number. The planner said she would call with updates but she was avoiding the phone calls. They could have gone to enterprise and rented a van to complete deliveries but they decided not to do anything

Rough and not even ready

Dreadful. Long-awaited and expensive mattress delivered. 'White glove service' had been promised by the manufacturers. A tired Luton van arrived, with the men complaining about weight of the mattress and they then dragged it rather than carried it up the driveway, muttering that 'it anyway was double-bagged'. Despite me having cleared the route through the house they managed to crash into furniture and other items en route to the bedroom. One chap stayed with me in the bedroom while the other went downstairs, and I was asked to sign an electronic form. When I questioned what the white glove service was, he said I'd paid for a bronze service, which is just leave the item at the address, nothing more. When I then unpacked the mattress it had several holes and a rip in it. I don't know where these were caused, whether by Network 4 or before they picked it up. I contacted the manufacturers who were horrified at the service I had received. Checked out Google reviews which are equally bad.

Awful company

Two deliveries cancelled on the day - very poor communication. Not at all helpful on the phone- when you eventually get through! As a customer I had to fit with their schedule. Item lost - then found. Eventually delivered at a time to suit them. Tracking doesn't work - I watched on screen as it confirmed my item had been successfully delivered - an hour before they turned up! The company is awful, but the two delivery men couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

Failure to deliver

1st delivery cancelled by Network 4. 2nd delivery van turns up but mattress not on the van. 3rd delivery not notified by text by date or time. Could not guarantee morning delivery. Person I spoke to was unhelpful with a poor attitude.

Terrible company

Terrible company , delivery didn't turn up and they didn't bother to let me know or tell me anything. It was only when I phoned them that they said "there is a vehicle problem" and that the delivery will arrive tomorrow which it did not.
