I have used National Windscreens on occasion many years ago but unfortunately this experience was somewhat comical. After paying upfront (?!) in December the first attempted fit was early January, but in my dry garage so I was hopeful of a good job. However the technician had too many jobs that day and got to me too late to be able to make good the windscreen opening. We agreed he could come back another week and I would prepare it to a high standard so the fitting would be very easy. After a mess up with an assumed appointment when I was not available another was made but this time the windscreen was damaged at the depot so we had to wait some more days for another screen to be delivered. At the next appointment the windscreen was glued in too low, despite warning about this and so the top seal did not reach the top of the windscreen and the VIN was obscured. Another few weeks passed until another appointment could be secured with a third windscreen fitting attempt. I advised about certain aspects to ensure the best outcome of having it fitted properly and I believe it is watertight, so OK. However some interior trim that I suggested to be removed ended up being a bit sawn along its entire length and the technician broke off the cars phone holder! The three technicians I dealt with were all very friendly and polite but there are operational and training problems that need to be addressed to make it worthwhile to use National Windscreens. I am sure they did not make any profit on this job yet it was also not worthwhile for me. The screen and parts cost £370 and it took two months to complete. Whereas I could have bought the screen and fitted it myself for under half the price in under 1/3 of the time.

The chap I called fitted me in the same day after having my mobile appointment cancelled several times due to bad weather. The mobile repair was a nightmare to pin down so I called Chelmsford. They were brilliant - thank you!

A real shame that it wasn’t until after I checked my car the following day in daylight that I noticed debris on my dashboard, they hadn’t reaffixed the plastic shroud around my rear view mirror or indeed cleaned the windscreen after fitting. I usually use Autoglass but for some reason my insurance company has switched to National Windscreens. I would have expected a more professional job and can now see why they parked it up in the car park whilst dark so I didn’t notice the issues above until the next day.
As they were nearly an hours drive from my home location I couldn’t be bothered returning for them to sort out.

From start to finish I found the staff very Caring, Helpful and Professional in their Attitude and Manner. They were very clear and precise in their explanations of the procedure of the work that was to be carried out and even offered me an alternative date and time in case it was more convenient for me.

Very disappointing experience with National Windscreens.

I attended my original appointment after being told a genuine Tesla windscreen had been ordered. After arriving and work having already started for around an hour, I was then informed that the wrong glass had been ordered. The job was cancelled and rebooked, causing inconvenience entirely due to their error.
At the rescheduled appointment, a non-Tesla windscreen was fitted without any prior discussion or agreement regarding a change in specification. Since the replacement, the drop in quality compared to the original factory windscreen is very noticeable. The glass lacks the UV protection and acoustic insulation of the original, cabin noise has increased, and visibility is significantly worse.
In particular, there is visible optical distortion, which is especially apparent at night and in wet conditions. Lights glare and warp through the glass, making it uncomfortable and, at times, unsafe to drive.
Overall, this experience shows a lack of reasonable care and skill — from the initial ordering mistake to fitting an inferior windscreen without customer consent. I am now having to pursue a formal complaint to have the issue resolved.
I would not recommend National Windscreens based on this experience.
