Shocking Service

I'd just like to say a hugh big thank you to North Devon District Council. What an excellant appauling service you have provided over this festive season, NOT!!!!!

We have not had a refuse collection in three weeks, yes three weeks!!!

I called the NDDC emergency line this morning because there is noone available at the NDDC offices until 02 Jan 25 due to illness and lack of interest.

There is only one girl bless her, working sloely who has a mammoth task of of taking calls and being inundated with calls and is helpless to do anything because she has no support, so we'll Done Sue!!!

I might add that we pay upwards of £300 per month for this super fantastic service.

I dread to think how much refuse we will have post New Years Day probably double to what is in the photo.

Gerrard!

Scum bags the lot of um

Scum bags the lot of um! They can't can't their jobs properly at all. I am a student and they are making ym financial situation worse as a result! Cutting my housing benefit entitlement because my income support got stopped. Benefits calculator will not help students and asking for help is getting me nowhere. These people are the reason the suicide rates go up. How these scum bags sleep at night knowing they have co tributes tributes someone's death is beyond me. They say they are only doing their jobs... its a very rubbish job they are doing and anyone who willingly works for these people are destined for a one way ticket to hell

This part of the country are THIEVES

This part of the country are THIEVES! Do not try to use their car parks. I paid for 4 days and they still gave me a ticket in which I reluctantly paid £25. They then added an extra 50% and told me I owed them another £50. Absolute scammers. I will never be returning thanks to them!

Great Council Tax Department Staff

Well, I have to say that the staff in the Council Tax Department at North Devon Council are polite, helpful, constructive, accessible, friendly and just about the best Council staff employees I have ever known. Well done NDDC.

North Devon Council; nasty, negligent, pompous imbeciles

Wait for this, NDC does not consider it is in a radon risk area so will not act in regard to radon property issues. When you point out to them they are in an official radon affected area, they tell you that you are being unreasonable and that they will not respond to you any more! Just look up "Radon Map" on Google and you will find the official UK public health radon map, where you will see North Devon has some very high risk areas. Yet NDC says there are none and basically refuses to do anything about radon issues in property. The staff at NDC are horrible, really bad.

BTW Public Health England have confirmed to me that NDC are legally responsible for ensuring compliance and enforcement, yet they do not.

Radon is a naturally occurring carcinogenic gas given off by the Uranium rich rocks in this area that gets stuck in your lungs, gives off radiation aka alpha particles (this is why so many South Western tin miners died from lung cancer and why the SW has such a high ratio of lung cancer sufferers in comparison with other areas of the UK) and becomes polonium (remember Alexander Litvinenko?) which then decays into Mercury (not good for your organs, and especially not for pregnant women). So you would think that NDC, who paint a picture of themselves being ethical and caring for the local community would, at a minimum, comply with the law. But oh no! It seems private tenants are sub-human in their eyes, not deserving protection from radon.

I have reported the matter to the police, Devon Police crime incident reference 159 - 19/Nov/2018 as crimes citing Wilful Neglect of Duty in Public Office (common law criminal offense) and endangerment to children under 2 years old under Section 27 of the Person Act 1861. I urge you, especially if you are in private rented accommodation, to demand that your landlord / agent conduct radon testing in your rented home (this is actually meant to be done when you first move in) and consider joining / supporting the above criminal complaint.
