We are a small business in Cornwall
We are a small business in Cornwall. We have been waiting without electricity and for Morrisons to fit a meter on behalf of Eon for two weeks now. Staff sent home, customers waiting and loss of income now impacting on many people. They can’t even give us an estimated date of appointment to book. We will be going to the local press about this totally unacceptable and broke service.

Idiot
A man walks onto my property with no appointment and opens my meter. This is not right. The lady opposite was concerned he was a robber!
Keep bothering me for meter readings…
Keep bothering me for meter readings even though already submitted them myself to the electric company via website we are with, bang on the door at ridiculous times in the evening & then have the cheek to come and move all off my bins to get to a meter and leave stuff resting against a car only the driveway which has now marked all the car and bumper very unprofessional
Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting. Just saw a man park is van and walked across my property, bending down just under my kitchen window. When we opened the door he didn’t even bother to stand up to address us, when we asked him what he was doing his response said i work for Morrison data and just here to check your meter. We hadn’t received any letters regarding this and his response was that they don’t have to. We also asked why didn’t he knock the door & announce himself and again he said he didn’t have to because the meters are not own by us but by the energy company. When we responded the property he was standing on and as well as the meters are on our property that we own, he got quite rude & stormed off, got back in his van and drove off.
I had just noticed a morison data van…
I had just noticed a morison data van parked out side my house. He had his window wound down and was looking directly into my living room as I watched TV. When I looked over at him he looked directly at me and pointed at me. I thought at first he was a taxi and asked my daughter if she had called one. She hasn't. I looked again at him several times. He gave the same response. Then he got out of his car wondered around the opposite side of the road, got back in his car and drove away.
Scenario
Scenario: North Lincolnshire, new build house, external wall based meters installed by British Gas, one smart meter sending, one not. Original energy supplier refused to fix as they didn't fit them. Moved to BG and they set up a visit by Morrisons to sort the issue.
With so many poor reviews on here about them, we weren't filled with confidence about the process.
We needn't have been.
Telephone call from Morrisons set up a visit between 8-12 am today.
The engineer arrived at 9am...polite, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the fault, explained it to me in laymans terms and proceeded to work on the meter.
Ten minutes later, a polite tap on the door to tell me the work was done, and another brief explanation of how things would go forward.
I know this goes against the flow of reviews on here, but our experience was first class, and what I would have expected from a knowledgeable, professional engineer.
It seems experiences with this company vary with where people live. Lincolnshire, based on this interaction, seems well served.
Better communication and decency from workers and customer please
There is no excuse for rude or aggressive Morrison Data Service workers though the same applies to energy company customers.
I wish more energy companies would send out a generic message to all customers. MDS have been around for almost 30 years so most people are aware of their role in the energy sector.
I would recommend everyone speaks to their energy provider to help prevent awkward conversations, minimise any fear and provide greater awareness and better communication. With so many scams it is not surprising people are very wary of anyone knocking on their door even if it is a legitimate reason.
There is information out there on energy company websites, but an email or text message is more prudent in this case.
Morrisons Data called to read our meter…
Morrisons Data called to read our meter on behalf of Octopus - he misread the meter submitting our export reading instead of the import reading, leading to a huge bill from Octopus who seem unable to correct the situation even though the correct reading has now been submitted. This is infuriating and totally unacceptable - if Morrisons are sending people to read meters at least send someone who knows what they are doing.

Unsure what this is about but have seen them on my road multiple times over the past year or two. Today they knocked on my door and asked to read my electricity meter for OVO, I said no because we already provide meter readings monthly and there’s no way I’m letting somebody into my home when they’re unexpected.
He took my answer, wished me a merry Christmas and left. No desire to explain why he had attended in the first place?
Very strange behaviour.
Horrible company the man is aggressive…
Horrible company the man is aggressive no I’d shown police contacted if any one has this company at the door report to the police . This is no way to approach a house Expeshally a disabled house hold with a psychopath of a mother - good look to that man all I can say hope you lost your job to mate

Turning up unnecessarily and unannounced and going straight into my electric box doing god knows what, not saying why he is there or where he is from I’ve rang my electric and gas company up and they have said they haven’t sent anybody round as I have a smart meter

Sunday
Sunday. Christmas holidaya. And these @%%holes think its acceptable to shut off a whole street and start digging before 8am

Some random guy at my door hoping to get in( not a chance) ! No British Gas ID, no uniform but wants to read my meter. Hands me a card from MORRISON Data service’s. If major supply companies are using third parties at least let us know a phone call/letter email. Arrange a appointment!!!
Failed twice to show up.
OVO booked MDS to fix my smart meter. I waited in from 8-2pm on the day, They didn't show. No communications.
I rebooked with OVO - taking ages to work through their on-line chat system - and MDS were due to arrive between 10-2 today.
At 1130 MDS called to say that they wouldn't be attending as "the van has broken down".
It sounded like a very familiar excuse. I asked if they had other units that could help but was told no. I couldn't rebook through them so now have to go back through the OVO to reschedule.
All this taking huge amounts of time with no outcome.
Very poor service.

Had an appointment for them to come and fix our smart meter today. They didn’t show up. I called the customer service line number they gave me to query but no answer, was on hold for 30 mins before I gave up. What a waste of time.
I was in my bathroom when I heard a…
I was in my bathroom when I heard a rapid knocking, then my doorbell. I knew at 9.20am that nobody should be at my door. No appointments and no couriers. Time I got out of my bathroom and looked out my window there was no one in sight. I went into my kitchen quite stressed and upset about being disturbed. After a couple of minutes I saw a middle aged man, wearing an orange visablity vest come through my back gate. Alarm bells rang like mad on seeing Morrisons Data on that vest.(As I have read they also work for TVL, and use meter reading as an excuse to see if you are watching live tv. And no I have no interest in any live tv). I opened my door, and the man said he had come to read my meters. I said coldly they are outside and quickly locked my door. I went into another room and had no further contact. I had only read online a few week ago, that Morrison's Data meter reader, was bragging and arguing on Martin Lewis website, that they do 2 jobs, and the second job is TV Licensing. He said most people who say they don't need a TV licence, are found on visiting them to need one. I have since phoned Ovo who state they did not send Morrisons Data and would have contacted me first, and a genuine meter reader would know where the meters are and not knock when the meters are located outdoors. I phoned the police who have taken a description, and I must phone them if I see the same man in my area. Please be warned that meter reading may not be what they have come round for.
Taking photos of my property
Morrison data services guy knocked on my door, not expecting an appointment from anybody. Proceeded to take flash photos of my property and then leave..
Morrisons Data Services sent a guy to…
Morrisons Data Services sent a guy to read my metre. This was totally unexpected and I did not know in advance.
They guy banged on my door was aggressive and arrogant.
He said eo next had sent him.
I live alone so did not let him in.
I have complained to eon next and have been going back and forth for weeks, they say thay did not send the metre reader. But then they say thay have to send a metre reader on a yearly basis to check the metre. It does not make any sence.
It's all very unnerving.
