Service client terrible !!!
Obscure and bureaucratic
1.- They make it very easy and convenient to start a contract but their cancellation policy is stone-age primitive.
2.- Their pricing is very obscure and unclear, they will charge you for everything they can find a hole in.
3.- When things go wrong it is nearly impossible to request help by any means other than phone calls and they only speak French, and a very hard to understand one.
4.- Do not dare take a look at their offers or look into an ad, they will track you and call you non-stop all day to get you to hire their service.
5.- Most importantly they do not inspire trust, they show you how easy everything can be when convenient for them but do not reciprocate.
As with most French companies they have very poor customer service.
AWFUL!
AWFUL!
They speak NO English, Spanish, italian, German, nothing. If you don't speak french they are unpolite and will do the possible not to let you do anything! I need to stop my abonnement but it is the f... annoyng and they are the most unpolite service I have ever used. Still paying them since months because they are stu*** as hell. Worst service ever.
Not transparent operator at all. Do not recommend
Automatically upgraded my plan from 9 eur to 20 eur without notification. Now there are only 2 subscription plans possible:
2 eur - 50 mb, 2h
20 eur - 210 gb
To change tariff you need to pay 10 eur.
You cannot change your tariff within 3 months after the previous tariff plan change.
So, if you missed the date of automatic tariff change in total you need to pay 3 month * 20 eur + 20 eur (prepayment) + 10 eur (tariff change). In total 90 eur. Even if you don't need it at all. Scammers
Terrible
Terrible
Claimed I hadn’t paid when I had
Must send a letter to cancel -ridiculous
SCAMMERS - Took 3 months to cancel membership
It took me 3 months to cancel my membership. They make it extremely difficult to unsubscribe (impossible to do it via website).
I ended up paying an extra 3 months AFTER letting them know I wanted to stop their services. During those 3 months I was billed, my phone number was NOT in service. Not sure why I was being charged.
I was chased and harassed by their debt collector who must be on payroll - this is OBVIOUSLY a scam and they do this with every customer who wants to end their contract with them.
My card was charged after service…
My card was charged after service cancellation. Truly dishonest company.
Store and charge CC without knowledge for prepaid
Purchased a prepaid sim card from a kiosk in-store for 20Euros. Then a month later get a bill for another 50Euros. After leaving France and the EU I had left the sim card in my phone. Between getting from the airport to home the phone used 3mb of data and was charged another 50Euros for it. I had no idea they were storing my credit card, and that they would then charge me for overseas data, and at such a high rate!! You can't even remove your credit card details from your account without putting another credit card details in. Purpose of a prepaid sim is that's the maximum you can pay!
Pay 10€+month in advance. Posting a letter(+10 days) only way to cancel,if at all
I had to use FreeMobile "sans engagement", meaning with "no restrictions on time to leave; or end contract anytime". I did with no formalities, In front of an automatic machine i inserted my bank card with some informations about address and email, with no other verifications. I payed 10€ for sim and 10€ for first month, and the machine spit out my Simard.
All started when I got over charged. Due to some weird games charges, that I am not aware of.
So I tried to restrict undesirables services using FreeMobile platform. Some services for restricting overpayments was available, and some required more expansive monthly plan to function. To reduce costs I tried to change to a cheaper monthly plan, but that was not possible to do for new customers(who used service for less than 3 months), even though changing to more expensive expansive is possible . Then the signal got weaker in a remote area, but not for other phone operators.
I decided to end my contract, even if I had to lose the number, so I contacted customer service. They told me, that there is a number to call to finish my contract. I called that number but it did not work in my case. So I got stuck. Customer services recognized the issues, and promised to get back to me when a worker gives a response to the question why the phone number(that supposed to end my contract) did not work in my case. By that time I already am using another operator prepaid number. One month past, and answer shows up. There is a bill for that month. The customer service told me that "unfortunately we did not yet got an answer". And they added, that the service is for technical issues, and that ending the contract would require calling or sending a letter by post, and it should work 8 days after receiving it by post. So I opted for calling the number that did not work, and suddenly it worked. Surprisingly the calling that number was not for ending a contract, but rather for getting a promotion on another, perhaps long term, contract. Upon calling,The employer showed little to none interest on my problem, and kept asking to let her talk about the promotion she is providing to me..
Later on she felt sorry about my situation, after I told her that I won't use the service even for free.. and told me that the only option to end the contract (and the ongoing bills) is only by sending a letter.
I could not send a letter because the poste office is very far away. Two months gone and finally the line was closed after a lot of warning of unpayed due payments. But still, automatic charges kept going on. But I never left available funds in my debit card long enough to let them succeed in that. So these payments always failed. These will go forever, because I cannot change my payments in their platform, but I can change debut card, which is what I did.
If you want to use this service, use non personal information and a disposable virtual debit card, so that you don't get owned. I don't think this service is working legally(not sure..), and I am stunned to the scale this is happening. I am sure though that this is absolutely unethical and an ineffective way to do business.
I spoke in french and there was never a misunderstanding..
They are horrible
They are horrible! Impossible to cancel your contract and very very bad customer service. Plus jamais!
Contact free abroad: helpful assistance
Very patient and helpful assistance for a problem with sending/receiving sms abroad.
The worst Mobile Phone ever.
The worst Mobile Phone ever.
I payed one extra year for nothing just because they have a north korean policy of canceling the abonament: you have to send a letter!!! in the 21st century you have to send letters so they make more money on our backs until we have time to send their letters.
And by the way... I had free canceling benefit in my abonament (for nothing!) but still had to send a letter to stop my abonament.
Shame on you, Free!
File dispute with the EU to get your money back
Had to cancel my subscription because I moved out of France. Sent 2 letters of resignation, which were received but never acted upon. The only way I made them stop charging my bank account was to file a consumer dispute with the EU (search for Online Dispute Resolution EU) - luckily, they took my side, and my bank blocked all charges from Free, even refunded me for the months the subscription should have been canceled.
Archaic policies
Really troublesome to cancel.
It's quite archaic to expect the client to send a letter in order to terminate the contract.
Free mobile hasn't sent the sim card
Free mobile hasn't sent the sim card. But transfered my number anyway.
The solution is to wait 5 days without phone for a new sim shipping for free... Or to pay 10euros and to get a sim at the store...
Wait, why should i pay because you've failed and blame it on the postal service ? It happens all the time according to the online review.
I want a refund.
After I sent them a resiliation letter
After I sent them a resiliation letter, they are continuing to send me bills every month. The assistance does not exist, you are stuck with a bot that just pisses you off. Just stay away from Free.
prepaid card is a scam
bought a $30 prepaid sim card, then was hit with $200 in overage fees at the end of that month.
how is that even possible? I thought the whole point was that it's prepaid to a certain amount and it's not possible to go over that? how did they even get my credit card details from the POS machine to retroactively charge me?!
absolute scam. Avoid!
Entrenched dishonesty
In France for three months and assured that cancellation will be just an easy call when we leave. This is simply a corporate lie as others have said. A very complicated call requiring excellent French, a visit to the store - lengthy (deliberate) stalling eventually gets you an address in Paris to cancel by letter only - no email. Deliberately obstructive. Dont touch this company - it will be a great cost if you do! Whether my registered cancellation letter will be actioned, remains to be seen.
If i can give them a a minus rating i…
If i can give them a a minus rating i would do it. Such a terrible service. Never seen anything worse than this service. Basically it's like i have almost no service, just sometimes
Refused to cancel subscription
Stay away, refused to cancel subscription. Have to send new letters for three contracts and pay one additional month of costs. Total extra costs: 3 x 10 + 3 x 12,55. Will seek legal and media advice.
