I find this platform’s evaluation process extremely frustrating and difficult to take seriously.
I have worked as a professional photographer for nearly 20 years, primarily in advertising, with an extensively trained visual eye and experience working for major international brands. I make a living from evaluating light, composition, consistency, movement, detail, image quality, and visual execution. Yet on this platform, where contributors are paid only cents per task, I am repeatedly being rejected by an evaluation system whose criteria, reviewers, and methodology are completely unclear.
The most concerning part is the inconsistency. In some assessments, I choose one video because it clearly has better visual quality or follows the prompt more accurately, and I am told the correct answer was a tie. In very similar cases, I choose a tie because both options are poor, and I am told that one of them should have been selected. At that point, this no longer feels like a transparent professional evaluation process. It feels like trying to guess an answer that changes depending on an invisible grading system.
There is also little or no meaningful feedback explaining what was supposedly wrong, who is reviewing these assessments, what qualifications those reviewers have, or how the final decision is reached. That is especially troubling when people are spending significant time completing repeated assessments and effectively performing detailed evaluation work during the process.
I have now read many other negative reviews describing similar experiences, which makes this even more concerning. I would like the company to clearly explain how these assessments are graded, how consistency between reviewers is ensured, and how work completed during qualification tests is used.
If there is no transparent answer to these questions, I believe this evaluation process deserves much greater public scrutiny. I have no problem discussing my experience publicly and documenting it through the appropriate professional and consumer channels if necessary. A platform asking professionals to contribute their expertise should be able to explain, clearly and transparently, how those professionals are being evaluated.

you need to work many hours for the nothing, tasks are ridiculous and test questions makes no sense...correct answers are against the task they asked. piece of shit, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

I have been on Mindrift since 2023, and unfortunately, my experience with the platform has become increasingly disappointing.
The biggest issue is the amount of time spent on training and exams only for projects to disappear afterward, sometimes without any clear explanation or useful feedback. I have contacted support about this and, on multiple occasions, received generic instructions to check the help page rather than an explanation of what happened.
Pay is another major concern. Some projects require significant time, effort, and even personal resources while offering compensation that does not seem reasonable for the work involved. I have also encountered projects where the amount of preparation required was substantial, yet there were no tasks available afterward.
I understand that not every project will be available to every worker, and I understand that exams may not always be paid. My frustration is with the lack of transparency and the amount of time workers can invest without knowing whether there will actually be an opportunity to work afterward.
I am leaving this 1-star review mainly to warn other workers: carefully consider the time you invest in training and exams, the compensation offered, and the level of support you can realistically expect before committing significant time to the platform.
My experience in 2023 was considerably better. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about my experience with Mindrift today.

I came across Mindrift in a job board, offering $70-$100/hour jobs for experienced Software Engineers. The work described as training AI models on dev tasks.
There was a screening process with technical tasks which took a few hours, then I was "approved" for the platform.
For the past month there were no dev-related tasks whatsoever. Only projects like "take 10 selfies and upload 6 images of your self from different years in the past". The reward on these is $0.35/task. That's fine, I guess, for some folks, but if I'm solving coding interview problems for hours and going through onboarding, I'd expect an actual developer work.
There are discord servers with hundreds of other participants waiting for something to come up too.
I'm writing this if you're expecting something like me, so you don't waste your time with the interview process.

Having started my collaboration with Mindrift more than two years ago, I have worked on a variety of AI annotation, evaluation, and QA projects. I have had several good experiences with individual teams and team leads, and I find it very appealing to participate in AI projects.
On the other hand, the overall experience with Mindrift has become rather frustrating lately. The platform does not always offer enough project availability, projects are often closed suddenly, and the platform experience on the whole has become quite unstable. All these things hinder working with Mindrift in a consistent manner.
One more problem that bothers me greatly is the lack of feedback and follow-up on the concerns voiced in monthly surveys and in feedback forms provided by the company. I keep repeating the same issues again and again, and I never receive any reasonable answers or actions in response to those concerns.
Moreover, I am disappointed with the fact that experienced contributors do not have opportunities to advance their careers. Having worked for Mindrift for more than two years and having completed dozens of projects, including AI evaluation and QA projects, I expect from the company to create the environment allowing experienced contributors to become QA, reviewers, or even senior contributors.
Unfortunately, experienced contributors sometimes feel like mere numbers, while their experience and skills are overlooked.
The issue with compensation policy needs to be addressed as well. Sometimes, I see job offers for Mindrift with quite high rates for new contributors or higher levels of contribution, while experienced contributors who proved their performance and skills have rates that are much lower. There must be a relation between the level of contribution, experience, responsibility and pay.
I still think that Mindrift has many good prospects, and I really liked collaborating with some of its teams. In order to retain its experienced contributors, the company needs to improve communication, offer stable project availability, allow career advancement, recognize contributions, and compensate them accordingly.

I qualified for a task after spending about an hour on training and qualification. When I clicked on START to begin the real work, the project disappeared.
I tried another training and qualification for another project, and during the training I already spotted several errors in the "ground truth" that they base their assessments on.
I tried to contact support; there is only a useless bot with no knowledge base, that tells you to read a useless page.
I simply deleted my account, so it's only fair that no one else loses their time with this website.

It's a unique platform that allows you to make an income in the comfort of your home or depending on the environment. I would definitely recommend mindrift.ai to my close group of friends and family.

I had a project that was fantastic but after it ended I'm seeing introductions to various projects that seem promising but dissappear after completion, to top it off there are no channels for these projects where we can get updates and it's a guessing game where I have to open the app and hope the disappeared tasks reappear again, I sent a ticket on the matter about 4 days ago that has not been addressed

The platform is really good, and they actually pay. I had a couple of experiences I wish I hadn't had—for example, I had money from tasks that were still pending review. I notified the person in charge to review them, but they never did. After a month (or more), they simply rejected all my tasks, and as a result, the pending payment wasn't “approved.” The tasks were fine (the LLM that reviews them marked them as good); it was just a matter of accepting the task. I also feel like there are few projects, or they don’t fully explain how to earn other qualifications and gain access to more projects. Overall, the platform is very good, but I’d understand if people feel overwhelmed if they can’t find tasks at first.

Some projects are genuinely worth it and well paid. But the number of ghost projects and projects that pay incredibly low are high making it harder to know which ones to put in the effort for. Payments arrive in reasonable time and a lot of times you don’t need to have some special qualification

My experience with Mindrift has been excellent. The platform provides interesting and meaningful projects, especially for professionals with expertise in STEM, mathematics, and technical subjects. The instructions are well organized, the application process is straightforward, and the project guidelines help contributors understand what is expected.
I especially appreciate the flexibility to work remotely and manage my own schedule. The team is professional, supportive, and focused on maintaining high-quality standards. Working on different projects has also helped me strengthen my skills, learn new approaches, and gain valuable experience in AI-related work.
Payments are handled professionally, and the overall working environment is positive and rewarding. I highly recommend Mindrift to skilled professionals who are looking for flexible, challenging, and valuable remote-work opportunities.

Very disappointing experience. I spent hours taking qualification exams but never received any clear feedback or work opportunities. The tests seem endless, and it feels like a lot of time is wasted with no transparency about the results. I cannot recommend this platform based on my experience.

SCAM! The recruited me on upwork for a special skills project. They extended an Upwork contract with a ridiculous hourly pay. I sent an email and asked why. They said that the contract's correct hourly rate would appear once I signed up on their platform (Mindrift). I asked for the hourly pay to be updated on the Upwork contract. They stopped responding. They only responded to one email repeating that the hourly rate will appear on THEIR PLATFORM. Also after accepting their offer and signing up on their platform no contract appeared and of course no job. They asked to verify my id through PERSONA. They are a big scam! The only jobs that appear on my view are extremely low paying jobs who are also quite difficult to get right and therefore get paid for. I don't know if they are collecting people's personal data or if they do mass recruitment in order to get people on the platform where they tell them that "they might as well do the low paying tasks to keep earning until they get matched with a task reflecting their skills" ... when it comes up. Complete scam. TO ANSWER THE BELOW COMMENT. I WAS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH YOUR RECRUITER ON UPWORK WHO DID NOT RESPOND DESPITE MY SEVERAL MESSAGES. WHY SHOULD I ADDRESS MYSELF TO SUPPORT! THIS IS JUST SCAM ON YOUR SIDE TO GET PEOPLE TO THINK THAT THIS IS SOME MISTAKE. RANA BARAKLI WAS THE RECRUITER WHO CONTACTED ME.
