Melissa is a Stellar Sales Progressor
We were impressed with Melissa Scarsbrook's assistance from the start of the sales progression service at M&B.
She made first contact and provided regular updates without the need to chase her - a rarity these days in our long experience of buying and selling houses.
Melissa also acted as an effective channel of communication with the other side which really helped us plan our move.
Every estate agency needs a Melissa! 👏
An excellent service all round
From the first meeting with Harvey we were constantly updated with how our everything was going.
Unfortunately the market changed and after it being explained to us it was necessary to reduce the sale price.
Once this was done the interest was immediately there.
We decided to go with the solicitors who Miles and Barr recommended and can’t fault Boys and Maughan
Once sale agreed we had a dedicated contact in Melissa who was the go between for all parties and kept us updated. This made a huge difference to know that things were progressing behind the scenes.
They may not be the cheapest estate agents but you get what you pay for and this was a very smooth service which we would recommend.
Stressful Solicitors
I decided to use Miles & Barr to sell my property after such a great experience in the past. However, this time wasn't the same from start to exchange. Incompetent solicitors, predominantly on the buyer's side. Frustration and unbearable stress due to nearly losing my next property twice. I would like to give great praise to Denise Lumpkin, the Sales Progressor, who worked tirelessly to get this sale over the line. Her professionalism was outstanding, and kept me going when it felt like all hope was lost. Full gratitude to Denise, as it shouldn't take 10 months to sell an apartment, when before, I sold my house with Miles & Barr in 6 months from start to finish.
Great job
Becky provided a great service and was easy to communicate with 😁

The support and sales progression by Louise Daly following the sale of the property has been faultless. She has updated me on a weekly basis and chased buyer and solicitors to ensure the sale concludes swiftly and problem free. Would highly recommend .

Professional Estate Agent in Birchington, Margate
I received excellent support and advice throughout the selling process. The staff were all helpful, courteous and professional. It is difficult to pick out individuals in a great team but Scott Roberts, the branch director, and Debbie Mead were both really excellent and like all the staff ,highly motivated. Unfortunately the first sale fell through but M&B pulled out all the stops to rapidly find another buyer and complete the deal extremely fast.

First class service
Louise was excellent at keeping me up to date with any developments she was also proactive in keeping the sale on track requesting information from buyers on state of play .if it hadn’t been for Louise and her negotiations with buyers I do believe the sale would have fallen through .

Exceptional Sales Progression
So grateful to the team but especially Rebecca Gravener, who was outstanding throughout the sales progression. She continuously chased up solicitors and agents, sending us regular updates and always available on email or WhatsApp to answer questions. Her support was invaluable particularly in our difficult and drawn out case, with multiple hurdles that had to be overcome before getting to the point of exchange. She kept me sane and was a voice of reason, always with the most up to date and accurate info! Huge thank you to her and would highly recommend.

Moving with Miles and Barr.
Sold our house through Miles And Barr Birchington. They were outstanding in every way from start to completion. We had a progressor Debbie Mead and she could of not been any more helpful. Keeping us in the loop every week, answering every question i bombarded her with, nothing was an issue with Debbie. She is an asset to the company. As a company I would highly recommend Miles and Barr. We actually ended up completing 6 weeks earlier than estimated. Now another chapter in our life, new home and new start. Again 5 star rating and Debbie Mead, awesome service, keep up the good work.

Debbie (Mead) is friendly and efficient but, most importantly, in what can be a stressful experience, just gets things done.
I thoroughly recommend her and the Miles and Barr team if you’re moving in the Thanet area.
Thanks Debbie 🌟

Passed referencing, then ghosted — a 'fully furnished' flat that kept losing furniture
My experience was quite different. I passed referencing for a gorgeous "fully furnished" flat with sea views in Birchington — and then came the silence. No replies to my emails, and getting anyone to pick up the phone was a saga of its own. When I finally got through, I was told the agent handling it was away on holiday. I'd asked whether the landlady would replace the missing bedframe. The agent was visibly reluctant — which, looking back, felt like someone who already knew the answer. And sure enough: no, she wouldn't.
My second viewing was booked for the very day the holding deposit was due to expire, with the inventory meant to be done the day before. When I arrived: no inventory done — and now the mattress and the sofa had vanished too. No explanation. Despite there being no inventory and no tenancy agreement, I was pushed to pay the rental deposit, plus the move-in date was postponed. The holding deposit only came back after I asked for it.
A day later, the same ad was live again — a "fully furnished" flat with sea views (the views, at least, are real) in Birchington.
The bitter part: I'd turned down another flat I would have loved, for this one. So here I am — still without a place, still hopping to and fro between temporary roofs over my head.
A fantastic property manager
Miles and Barr managed the property we let for 14 years. We had numerous property managers in that time and it has only been in the last 6 months since Rachel Hodson took over we have been totally happy.
Rachel was an excellent communicator, keeping us up to date, answering questions in a timely manner and finding out if she didn't know. If she had been our property manager for the whole time,j I would have given 5 stars.
Once again
Once again, thanks to Miles and Barr, Folkestone, I have had a successful house sale. The team were professional and attentive throughout the process. I would like to thank Emily for her tireless efforts to keep everything on track, and for keeping me up to date at all tîmes.

Louise Daly
Louise Daly, firstly I have to say that Louise is a super star and without her support I would have lost the plot on a number of occasions. Louise is calm, diligent, reliable & caring, she has the ability to spin many plates very successfully and with ease. Louise is the main lynch pin between buyers, sellers, solicitors on both sides, management companies and even councils should the need arise. All of which she manages with expertise, charm and professionalism. Louise is a wonderful human being, she is passionate, she makes sense and talks in plain English, she keeps you in the loop at all times, she works extremely hard and is a huge asset to Miles & Barr. I have nothing but praise for Louise, like I said at the start of this review she is a super star and speaking to some of her colleagues at Miles & Barr they all have the same praise for her. So thank you Louise you are a life saver in the midst of Solicitor jargon, I truly believe you worked harder, was more reliable and made more sense than the solicitors so you should be paid their fees.

Great service start to finish
Communication was excellent throughout the process. Sales team and in particular the Senior Sales Negotiator were really good as were the office management team in general. All were very effective.
