Bill Gates gets lots of praise and…

Bill Gates gets lots of praise and awards for his charity work especially in Africa. But we must ask who actually is paying for him to have such a "sacred" profile. The answer is ordinary people such as me and millions of others who feel trapped by Microsoft expensive ANNUAL FEES. I have a basic P.C. that now has jumped in price to £84.99 for annual protection. I don't use my P.C. very often but I adopt a very prudent approach to web security. So when Bill Gates gets all the praise from what I would call a "protection racket" it's due to human feelings of insecurity. So Mr Gates can simply pass on his multi billion divorce settlement to his customers. I fear that we will similarly be paying for Mr Gates friendship with Jeffrey Epstein

I paid for Microsoft 365 Business and…

I paid for Microsoft 365 Business and was completely locked out of my own account because of MFA.
There is NO way to reach support without logging in, and every phone number redirects to an automated system that tells you to “go online” — even when you literally can’t log in.

There is no human support, no email, no callback, no form, no escalation path.
Microsoft has removed every method of contacting them unless you can already sign in, which makes their entire support system useless for anyone who gets locked out.

I’ve spent hours trying every official route and all of them lead to the same dead end.
I can’t access my account, I can’t cancel my subscription, and I can’t get help.
This is the worst support experience I’ve ever had with any company.

If you’re a small business or solo founder, avoid Microsoft 365 at all costs.
If you get locked out, you’re on your own.

Microsoft took money from my card which…

Microsoft took money from my card which I had not authorised. They were unable/unwilling to tell me when I actually gave them the card details. They were also unable to confirm they had removed my payment details as I couldn't do it myself.
The subscription has increased from £59.99 to £89.99, their excuse that they have now incorporated AI. I don't want AI, I never authorised payment and it took me 2 hours to actually find a way of speaking to anyone and only then I got to chat with someone who had no idea what was happening. Dreadful and should be illegal.
Why do these big companies think they can do what they want and answer to no one?

Microsoft used to be...

Microsoft Windows used to be the go to, the reliable, the familiar, the absolute.

I've worked in IT for decades, with many Microsoft products, but no longer. Whomever you've got at the top, thinking they're cleaning up the trash with their magic broom, they are deluded, they have broken Microsoft. They may make you a shed load of money for a comparatively short period of time, but again, they have broken Microsoft, and Microsoft will crash, believe me.

I am moving to Linux, as are many millions more, personal users and businesses, away from Microsoft, away Microsoft Windows, away from all of your Copilot infused Applications, away from Office, OneDrive, all of them; I am cancelling all of my Microsoft subscriptions. We want a good user experience, good tools, and Microsoft no longer provides that, where Linux, in its various guises, does. Who would have thought...?!!!

Stop trying to force on your users what they do not want, such as a Microsoft Windows that no longer works as expected, that now renders millions, maybe even billions of computers useless. Such as Copilot, in its plethora of guises, some obvious, some hidden. AI is good, it has its place, I use AI daily, as a tool, when I want to use that tool, but not as an all encompassing pain in the backside, spying on everything, reporting on everything, invading everything, controlling everything, breaking everything...!

It's been a long relationship, it's had its ups & downs, it's had its Windows 8, which you recovered from, but now, now its broken...

Goodbye Microsoft.

Paul.

Daylight robbery

Daylight robbery,
Order Number: 5801462141
they took my money for an app that doesn’t work. All reviews are 1 star and also state it doesn’t work. Fobbed of to support chat robots so they can avoid giving a refund at all costs. Be very careful and read the reviews before purchasing any of their apps. Left with no choice but to initiate a chargeback via the bank.

Where to start!?

Where to start!? Locked out of my Outlook which I have years worth of MY work, projects and pictures stored under the promise of it being safe. I had bought the Microsoft 365 for more storage (which i could barely afford) then here you go locked out of your account merry xmas.

I am a carer for my sibling and have lost all contacts, legal, advocacy, care plans etc everything is on there, even my counselling and therapy contacts are there!!! Absolute meltdown inducing circles of link clicking to go and read an essay about how to solve the impossible task of getting back in TO MY OWN account!

I have completed that silly form and received nothing in my alternate email, whats even more annoying is that I set up my phone number to help ease sign in issues- doesn't work, set up 2 step authentication- doesn't work, I wish I never set up a passkey because it has messed everything up.

After about two weeks of trying (baring in mind I have ADHD and their accessibility processes seem to be still in the 70's) to recover following the bizarre steps that make no sense- no luck, I succumbed and created a new Microsoft account as weirdly I have to sign in to get support :O (defeats the object doesn't it really Microsoft!?) and now my computer seems to have completely confused both email addresses. I would just like to talk to a human on the phone to guide me back to accessing my documents. I am in utter shock at how disabling and distressing this process is.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Self-employed and small businesses - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My experience with Microsoft has been horrendous throughout. It has been 32 days since I raised a case with Microsoft because I was unable to access my business email account. Since logging the problem it remains unresolved. It took them over 3 weeks to even respond and several days later I have still been unable to get this sorted. I have just been left on hold trying to get to speak to an 'engineer' for 1 hour 42 minutes. I have just given up waiting.

As a small business this is costing me clients and revenue. It also seems to be the standard for Microsoft - any kind of problem is a nightmare to get resolved. If you are a small business owner / self-employed DO NOT use Microsoft - they will destroy your business.

Don't buy MS Office use LibreOffice, ITS FREE !!!

Awful Company who just want your money and do not care about delivering a service. I think they flaunt contract law and are not interested in individuals or their circumstance. They just state 'read the T&C's'. I made an error paying money into my MS account accidentally and they absolutely refuse to refund any of it. Once it there it is theirs and they keep it. Don't buy their products LibreOffice is just as good and FREE.

Microsoft dont care about CUSTOMERS

Customers are like dirt on their shoe. Ever since they retired Skype I’ve been trying to access my remaining Skype Credit (which they confirm I have but cant use). They couldn't give a Sh1t. Punt you from pillar to post, no resolution. They are just stealing my money effectively. Dont use Microsoft their products are as bad as they are.

Intransigent Microsoft

I put £80 into my Microsoft Account thinking I could use it to pay my Office 365 renewal. Unfortunately I did not realise the account was only for Xbox so it cannot be used for Office subscriptions. I requested a refund as I don’t have, or need, Xbox. Microsoft flatly refused to refund the money so I am stuck. I am cancelling my subscription and will have nothing more to do with this awful company.
