Wisdom tooth surgery

Checking with Medibank prior to my procedure was straightforward. Claiming for the hospital component was carried out by the surgeon's admin team, so nothing for me to do.

Overall very happy, despite frustrating experience interacting with your Chat process.

I was very happy with the deal I got from the company and the ease with which claims and payments are managed through the Hospitals and Surgeons.
I found the initial contact through Chat system very tedious and not entirely fit for purpose.

The best health insurance by a huge margin

I couldn't be happier With Medibank Private. I ceased my very long-term membership with my previous health fund due to the fact that they didn't support a hospital that was offering to do a major surgical procedure with NO out of pocket costs to me! This is something every person wants. We pay so much for health insurance that we should be protected from the costs we are forced to incur by other private hospitals. Medibank Private pays all cost if the surgery occurs at Cotham Private Hospital in Melbourne. Had it not been for this health fund I would have had to pay at least $5,000 in extra, unsupported costs. The service was high quality too - I know, I'm a Pre-admission nurse!

Hard to make a claim…

Its extremely hard to make a claim online, the messenger service was a waste of time, rang and waited 5 minutes to be told I will need to wait at least 20 minutes.
Very disappointed with medibank.

recent hospital visit

Was very stressed as needed to go to Hospital for surgery. spoke to one of your very helpful staff on the 12.5.2026 Shane and found him very helpful and supportive. He checked the surgery item codes I provided to him and he confirmed that I was covered. so thanks . just made the up coming surgery a bit more easy to deal with

Exceptional service by by both Medibank and Epworth Hospital

Care at the Epworth was exceptional The hospital staff explained the procedure and post procedure steps that I needed to follow. I was contacted at home the following day to ensure that I was not experiencing any difficulties. I had no need to contact Medibank myself with all Medibank claims handled by hospital staff without experiencing any difficulties.

Good coverage - Quick and Easy Claim Process

Good coverage of costs. Quick and easy claim process. Amplar Health post surgery Rehab is ok but needs some improvements: appointment mixups, calls that are not returned, inconsistent physiotherapy personnel and advice.

Easy as ABC and Automatically

I do NOT need to do anything while Medibank Private settled all claims submitted by my doctors, day surgery and pathology. It takes my worry away and allows me to concentrate for recovery.
