Tried to call 4 time on hold each time…

Tried to call 4 time on hold each time for some time and eventually cut off or left voice mail messages with no returned call several messages asking for 1 hours notice of delivery arrival as wa on another job driver called me waiting on site with deliver

I completely appreciate that a delivery window of 7am to 4pm is long when you might be working at another location, and I am also sorry that you were unable to get through to us on the phone. Whilst our delivery windows need to be broad due to our nationwide network of suppliers, customers should always be able to contact us when they need assistance.

As discussed, and for future reference, once an order is confirmed, the delivery notification sent the evening before includes the contact details of the supplier making the delivery. This allows customers to contact the supplier directly for a more accurate ETA and, when needed, request a call ahead before arrival. Customers can also include any specific delivery instructions or requests in the "Notes for Driver" section when placing an order.

That said, I’m pleased to hear that, despite these frustrations, you would consider using Materials Market again in the future, and we will be in contact regarding our best account pricing deals.

Would have been 5 stars as price was good and updates were timely.

Ordered 10mm golden gravel, along other products, specifically to fill ground stabilization grids. Materials Market outsourced the delivery to Travis Perkins, who arrived with 20mm gravel instead. When I rejected the incorrect size, the delivery driver informed me that Travis Perkins doesn't even stock or sell 10mm golden gravel.

Materials Market's system completely failed by matching my order with a merchant that literally cannot fulfil it. I took a day off work to complete this project, costing me £180 in lost earnings, only to be left with a half-finished work because of their logistics blunder.

When phoned, customer service offered a refund for the gravel but refused to take any responsibility for the lost time and money their mistake caused, offering only a vague promise to "raise it with management." Zero accountability for a massive screw-up. Avoid.

As discussed, Materials Market operates as a marketplace, working with a nationwide network of suppliers who fulfil orders on our behalf. On this occasion, the supplier accepted your order despite not being able to supply the specification you required, which is clearly disappointing and should not have happened.

As you rejected the materials at the time of delivery, the supplier has credited us and we have issued a full refund for the gravel that was unsuitable for your project.

That said, I fully appreciate the frustration, disruption and delays this has caused, particularly given the time you had set aside for the work. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and our Operations Manager will be in contact with you shortly with an update regarding your request for compensation.

Awful company, awful service - do not use.

Awful. Do not use. Phone your local supplier and negotiate on price.

This company consistently fails on their commitments. Slipped deliveries, poor communication, trying to get you to accept inappropriate alternatives, and then worst sin of all delivering the wrong product and then saying there is no recourse. They are seemingly indifferent to your concerns over any issue when there is one.

Avoid at all costs !!!

I ordered 51 lengths of 4.8 m 2x4 and…

I ordered 51 lengths of 4.8 m 2x4 and 15 lengths of 4.8m 8x2 and most of the timber is either bowed, twisted, split, or damaged in some way and it's supposed to be c24 treated, judging by the condition I would say I am going to struggle makianything on this build level

Cheap prices but you may be left hanging

Cheaper prices than going direct to suppliers, but boy to do you pay for it in time spent calling and chasing (11 times for one order). Orders are split and then cancelled without consulting you (and then a confused supplier arrives and attempts delivery anyway even though you have had to source elsewhere).

I liked the competitive price

I liked the competitive price. I disliked the order being delivered a day early without any notification and then receiving emails to confirm the delivery the following day as scheduled. There appears to be a communication problem between departments.
Update. Material Market contacted me by phone and email offering a sincere apology for the failure in communication from the supplier they used. It’s nice to see a company follow up on reviews.

Great products, delivery issue.

Great products, we ordered wood in various sizes to redo our bathroom flooring underlay. Prompt delivery.
Had a slight issue with the delivery driver as we hadn't been given any warning that I would need to help him carry all (very) heavy and large items into the house and I had my 1 year old at home alone. It was a case of I had to help or he will drive off as it wasn't physically possible for him alone. So had to strap my toddler in his buggy in front of the TV to help carry from down the street as not outside parking. Not ideal but made it work! Product great but please give warning if required to help carry in as I would have booked a day my partner was home to help.
