I found the whole process from ordering…

I found the whole process from ordering to delivery was excellent. I made arrangements to have items delivered to suit me. I was given a time slot for delivery and it came within that time. The driver was very amenable, moving the lorry to behind the house, to be offloaded in the requested place. The driver was very polite and extremely helpful. Thank you for a great service.

Delivery slot of 7am-4pm given

Delivery slot of 7am-4pm given. Arrived at 1pm. Driver wanted to place bag in middle of shared driveway which I thought was entirety Inappropriate. Was then left on edge of public path. Another delivery arrived with driver offering to take this bag down my driver but your driver was not keen to oblige

Delivered on time ,value for money…

Delivered on time ,value for money ,delivery driver was very helpful,friendly and polite.
Extremely competent, despite awkward delivery, lamppost, telegraph pole and wires managed to Deliver in the right spot .highly recommended

Materials as expected, but really poor delivery sevice

Materials as expected, but for the delivery fee I expected some flexibility. Out of the whole day I had only 10-15 mins which were inconvenient due to a work meeting. The driver chose exactly that slot to show up. Then, he chose the one place where not to drop off the bag of sand, as I could not oversee that and only quickly signed for the delivery and went back in the house. The delivery service was just poor.

Useless - No updates, don't waste your time!

No answer on the phone. Couldn't even be bothered to let me know that they had to cancel my order due to not being able to fulfill it. I only found out when I decided to cancel the order as it was the day before "delivery"and I had no updates. Then they came back to say they can't do the order. If you knew you couldn't do the order why not update me? Complete waste of time and cost me money as now the project will be delayed as had to source elsewhere. AVOID.

As a marketplace, Materials Market works with a nationwide network of suppliers who choose which orders they are able to fulfil. Whilst there can occasionally be situations where an order takes longer than expected to allocate or a supplier is unable to proceed, customers should always be kept fully informed of any issues or delays, and given the opportunity to decide whether they wish to wait or make alternative arrangements.

I am also sorry to hear that you were unable to reach us by phone when you needed assistance. I appreciate how frustrating this must have been, particularly when your project was dependent on the materials arriving as expected.

Do Not Use Materials Market if you want Materials

If you’re looking for a company to mess you around and cost you time and money then Materials Market is the company for you. They pride themselves on ensuring they give you zero customer service or satisfaction and ensure that you don’t get the service and products they have promised. They’ll make sure that you don’t get the same delivery date you confirmed with them on their website, you don’t get the materials you ordered and then seal the deal with not following up when they make a mistake!!! I had a very simple order, one that you can’t really get wrong. 10 X 3 metre posts to build a pergola. These posts need to go in the ground in the middle of a patio that is being laid so the patio can’t move forward until the posts are in the ground. They delivered one instead of 10. I still got charged for 10 though!! The delivery date we were given was the 22nd. That date was changed by Materials Market to the following day without consultation and or giving me the option to cancel and get materials from somewhere that could deliver on the day requested and I’m now 3 days and counting without a single phone call to let me know what’s going on. I get they’re busy but I chose that date on their website based on the statement they make on their website that ‘Named day delivery chosen by you’!!! So when only one post turns up and that follows 3 days of basically radio silence and none of the remaining 9 posts turning up I’m now sitting waiting and annoyed that nobody has got a grip of this in order to get the order fulfilled so I can carry on with the job. I have done everything I can to contact Materials Market. I have been on the chat which I think is a bot and basically is about as helpful as a chocolate Tea-pot!!! I rang the phone number on the email and spoke to a lady who said she would keep me informed of what is going on and I haven’t heard back from her. I emailed the team email and still no-one has replied after 3 days?!?!
This is not the way for a company to conduct itself in this day and age. Builders need materials straight away and when the company delivering them gets it wrong they should rectify it immediately so work can carry on. I’ve used a lot of online building services and Materials Market is the worst. I would never use them again and I strongly urge you to consider just going to your local building merchant. Don’t let an online company like Materials Market ruin your schedule and cost you money and time. To sum up Materials Market do not deliver the materials you want and they don’t do it on the day that they said they would, they don’t have a customer service team and they don’t operate in order to help you get your job or project done in a timely manner. So if that’s the way you like to get treated then go ahead and use them!!!!!!!

Not only was your delivery date changed after your order had been placed, but when the delivery arrived the supplier delivered just one post instead of the ten that had been ordered. I appreciate the impact this had on your project, particularly when the posts were required before other work could continue.

Whilst the supplier did offer to deliver the remaining posts, I fully understand why a delivery the following week was not an acceptable solution given the delays you had already experienced. I am also very sorry for the lack of communication from us and the time it took to provide you with clear answers and a resolution.

As a marketplace, Materials Market works with a nationwide network of suppliers who fulfil orders on our behalf. On this occasion the supplier made an error in fulfilling your order, but we should have responded more quickly and kept you fully updated throughout.

I understand that the outstanding part of the order has now been cancelled and refunded, and that we have also refunded the delivery charge. Whilst I appreciate this does not undo the inconvenience and disruption caused, I hope it demonstrates that we have recognised the shortcomings in how this was handled.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delays, poor communication and frustration caused.
