Never invest your money here

Never invest your money here! Invested my money in a special DAP, allowing me to withdraw on an annual basis. Than after a year they broke up the DAP as they couldn’t sustain the withdrawal request from clients. Now I’m sitting with 1000’s of worthless shares. With them unwilling to even compensate me at cost of entry basis.

Say it again, please invest your money in an index fund or something else. Not here, thank me later

It's been over two years and my portfolio value just keeps tanking. Every time I try to actually get my money out, the app and the support team make it literally impossible. It feels so sketchy, like my funds are just gone.
I am doing perfectly okay on #G0LdBL00M #LAB0RAT0RlES. They balance brilliant tech with old-school honesty and getting paid fast is just the cherry on top.

Secondary market is a joke. Very difficult to navigate and no customer service. Big scam and I would not recommend this as an investment to anyone.

Masterworks scam investment

I've been invested in Masterworks for over 5 years now, and not a single one of my art holdings has been sold. My capital is completely locked up with no liquidity whatsoever.

The platform promotes art as an "alternative investment," but they fail to emphasize just how illiquid and risky it truly is—shares can sit unsold indefinitely at Masterworks' discretion, and the secondary market (when even accessible) has been useless for me with no buyers at reasonable prices.I'm currently sitting on significant losses: the appraised values have dropped (or stayed flat after fees eat into any potential gains), and there's no clear path to getting my money back.

Customer service has been terrible. Responses are slow, generic, or non-existent when I inquire about status updates, exit options, or why nothing has moved in years.

Emails go unanswered for weeks, and when they do reply, it's copy-paste disclaimers about "holding periods of several years" without any real help or accountability.

Avoid Masterworks at all cost unless you're okay with losing your money on their platform.

If i could give them zero i would

If i could give them zero i would - there are a bunch of reviews on the internet about how much of a scam this is but i can tell you for sure - if you want a stressful way to turn 15k into 10k over 4 years - this is it. The app is terrible, everything is crawling with charges AND they devalue your investment over time to pay their 'handling fees'. Do your research - anyone who says this is a good shout is getting kick backs. DO NOT GO NEAR.

Wouldn't do it again

Wouldn't do it again.

I invested 5k in 5 paintings and after 5 years my portfolio is worth 5k. Without clear path to liquidity, this is a joke. Failed investment.

Bad investment…

They made a recommendation of three pieces of art to invest in. Over the last two years all three have made a steady decline in value. This has been the worst investment I have ever made.

horible

horible. I thought 3 years agomit will be a great investment to purchase something I could not get my hands on. Well, 3 years later, they still have my money and there is no way to sell shares of Banksy, who is known for how long. Never ever!

Has a bit of a pyramid scheme feel

Has a bit of a pyramid scheme feel - reading about all the other art selling for profit while mine sits there year after year. But - perhaps it was just a bad/unlucky investment. I would just chalk it up to the fickle nature of an undiversified portfolio, except for the high-pressure sales approach and their refusal to stop sending me emails despite having unsubscribed multiple times.

Masterworks is a scam as far as I am…

Masterworks is a scam as far as I am concerned. If you want art to be part of your portfolio buy your own art. Do not give these jokers your money. You will never see a profit and in fact you will never get it back or make a profit. I am a perfect example since I mistakenly invested 300k with them, which after 2 years is now valued at 250K and they still have not paid out the redemption. STAY AWAY from masterworks.

This is a terrible investment

This is a terrible investment. If you want to see if an Investment is good, always looks at how it trade in the secondary market. My shares are worth less than 40c on the dollar and it seems true for most of the share I see on the secondary market.

The estimate period of sale isn't clearly communicated and I am actually worried that this is a scam and that I will lose my full investment. Fortunately, I did not invest a big portion of my portfolio in this app.

I have friend in the art world that explain to me that MasterWork is known to purchase painting above fair market value - meaning that your share appreciation will be limited.

The app and website are constantly bugging and you will need to follow up multiple times with customer support to get help.

I would advice not to get involved with this trading platform.

High pressure sales tactics and terrible returns

High pressure sales tactics, so far a 17% unrealized loss in a time period where the rest of my investments are up 63%. No liquidity, but that's to be expected.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't invest with them unless I knew someone personally who actually made money. At present, I don't.

Harassed

I requested information via email. They were able to find my cell phone number and the high pressure harassment started. I said not interested. The guy then repeated his question to me and I disconnected. Right away they continued to contact me via email. I’ve blocked everything and hoping it’s over. I would not invest anything with this company.
