Mars Hydro Warranty Experience – Perspective From a New Grower

I’m a newer grower and wanted to document my experience with Mars Hydro support after a product failure.

I purchased a Mars Hydro grow kit that included their 6-inch oscillating clip fan. After roughly one year of ownership, the fan stopped working. The failure happened very close to the end of the stated warranty period.

When I contacted support, I provided everything requested — proof of purchase, serial number, photos, and video showing the issue. Communication with customer service was polite and responsive, and they did escalate the case for review.

However, Mars Hydro calculates the warranty period based on the order date rather than delivery date or actual time in use. Because of this, my fan was considered slightly outside the warranty window and they declined to provide a free replacement.

After escalation, the final offer was a replacement fan for $20 shipped as a goodwill discount instead of honoring the warranty.

As a new grower, I chose Mars Hydro expecting dependable equipment and support from a well-known brand. Having a component fail so close to the warranty cutoff — and then being asked to pay again for a replacement — was honestly frustrating and not what I expected from the experience.

​I am writing to you as a dedicated customer who has recently fully upgraded to your latest 2025 ecosystem, including the newest smart dehumidifier, humidifier, and the iHub system. While I am very impressed with the build quality and performance of the hardware itself, I am currently quite frustrated with the limitations of the MarsPro app and the overall software automation.
​I would like to share a few critical points where the software is currently failing to meet the standards of a "Smart 2025" system:
​VPD-Based Automation: Although the app displays VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) values, it is impossible to use VPD as a primary trigger for automation. I expect the system to automatically adjust the intensity of my devices to maintain a specific VPD target, rather than just basic ON/OFF cycles based on temperature or humidity.
​Lack of Dynamic Dimming/Scaling: Currently, the devices seem to act in a "binary" way (mostly ON/OFF or fixed levels). For a 2025 system connected via RJ12, I expect smooth, incremental adjustments. For example, the exhaust fan should increase its speed gradually as the temperature rises, not just jump to a preset value.
​"Dumb" Environmental Scenes: The current scenes are too simplistic. They don't allow for sophisticated "if-this-then-that" logic that combines VPD, light stages, and fan speeds into a cohesive environment.
​Synchronization Issues: Using multiple apps or sections within the app to control different parts of the same tent feels outdated. The ecosystem should feel like a single, unified "brain."
​I invested in the 2025 line because I believed in your "Roadmap" toward a truly smart, automated growing experience similar to your competitors. Right now, the hardware is ready, but the software is holding my garden back.
​Are there any imminent updates planned for the MarsPro app that will address VPD-target automation and dynamic device scaling?
​I look forward to your response and hope to see Mars Hydro become the true leader in smart grow technology.

The lack of instructions as to how to…

The lack of instructions as to how to set up the controller and the humidifier is unbelievable. It leads to much googling and YouTube searching. The products are OK but sometimes the controller over humidifies for no apparent reason. Switching it off and on usually fixes the issue. The advertising is also unclear. I purchased the humidifier believing that it could be controlled online, but the truth is that you also need to purchase the new controller. Up your game on instructions guys.

Grow tent 32x32x63 review

After 40+ hrs of researching different grow tent companies and reading 100s of reviews from customers, it was clear Mars Hydro was my choice. They had everything I was looking for, at a comparable price. 32x32x63 tent fit perfectly in my area. I ended up buying the IController system including all sensors. If you’re going to grow do it right, any edge you can get to make your grow better do it. I don’t worry now on how my grow is doing, I just bring up the Mars Hydro app and see the status of what’s happening inside my tent.
Setup: Easy, follow directions. First grow didn’t have Icontoller system; just tent, inline/oscillating fan, and humidifier worked excellent. The upgraded Icontroller system is 100% recommended, way way less worrying.

Really good company. The products and pricing are great and my order showed up a lot faster than I expected. I love how you can just get a full ready made kit to go, such a good idea and as I said for the pricing for what you get you legit can’t beat it. Customer service is pretty fast. I didn’t quite understand something with there shipping so I emailed them about it and they got back to me within a couple of hours and sorted everything out perfectly. So 10/10 for me and will definitely order from them again.

Wasted Money!

They just wont post my comment on their Website which shows me what kind of business Mars Hydro is... I bought 2 Mars Hydro Clip Fans on Nov 28 2025. Today Jan 20 they are already broken... on one of them the fan is just not spinning anymore no matter what I do and the second one wont even start when the power setting is above 3... So wasted money.... I have two Clip Fans from SpiderFarmer and they are working for two years now with no problems at all.... will never buy from Mars Hydro again!

3 of 9 light broke within 1 year, no warranty

I have purchased 9 lights from Mars hydro, 2 of them show damaged LEDs after a couple of months. 1 of them completely stopped working. The support will show passive resistance, asking the same questions and demanding the same pictures etc. multiple times. I have over 27 massages in the conversation with no resolution yet. If I am lucky, I might get one replacement, but I will have to pay Import fees and wait for delivery from China. At this point, the passive resistance of the support and fake warranty caused more damage than just buying a replacement from a serious and trustworthy brand.
