This is my second year with mark bates, very easy to renew and pricing is competitive, staff are very friendly when I called, thankfully I’ve not had to make a claim but I have faith that if I had to thing would go smoothly.

You can’t assess an insurance policy when you’ve only just taken it out. Ask me again if I have to make a claim.
Title: Initial misunderstanding caused stress, but ultimately resolved by excellent customer service
I am giving 4 stars due to the fantastic support we eventually received, though the initial experience was highly stressful.
My 90-year-old father, who can get easily confused, called to see if his wheelchair repair was covered by insurance. Based on his simple explanation ("the motors stopped working"), the representative assumed it was standard wear and tear and immediately denied the claim. Unfortunately, this led my father to believe he had no coverage, causing him to spend £2,300 on a new wheelchair because he is completely dependent on it for mobility.
When I intervened and explained the actual situation—an engineer confirmed a seatbelt had wrapped around the wheel, causing an accidental motor overload—the company immediately opened a claim.
Had the service stopped at the first call, this would be a 1-star review. However, a wonderful customer service representative stepped in, coordinated across departments, and resolved the situation beautifully. I highly recommend that the initial intake team asks more clarifying questions when dealing with elderly or vulnerable clients to prevent costly misunderstandings like this.
So far so good early days
