Not a great experience at all
Not a great experience at all. Im really disappointed to say my order was half missing and never refunded. I ordered the birthday upgrade for a surprise for my friends birthday at £29.99, with it costing an additional £10.75 next day, delivery which included 4 slice of cake in a cake card, a birthday balloon and a pick n mix. My friend recorded 4 slices of not great quality squashed cake, the card was a piece of paper slapped on with a crease and no balloon or pick n mix. I contacted mailbakes directly but only after my friend left a review did I get an email. Anyway we tied in and discussed the issue of missing items, I was apologised to for them not sending it and offered that they’d now send out said birthday balloon and pick n mix. I felt it was too late to get a birthday balloon when her birthday was over and had it not been a close friend i would never have known it all didn’t arrive together. Mail ales asked for proof of poor quality card and cakes which I have provided. I recieved a refund for the £10.75 delivery cost but I have heard nothing else since! I certainly wont be throwing my money away using this company again, very sad as it in theory is a great idea!

Ordered for a birthday...cakes arrived late and the front "card" image i chose was not even on it so was jst a plain white box. The cake itself was SO SO dry honestly was inedible...went in the bin. Nothing like what their social media portrays! The middle filling didn't even go all the way through it was half filled which only added to the unpleasent dryness. Customer service was terrible...I was assured this isnt there usual service so I expressed how upset I was tht it had kinda ruined his birthday and requested them to re send actual edible cakes as an apology but they refused. Honestly the ones I received where tht bad they went in the bin...would NOT recommend this company unless u love Dry cakes and poor customer service

Cake a suprise
Never heard of these before but saw them online. Thought I would see what they were like and sent my Nan a two slices of cake and a card in the post. The delivery was good and came a day early I believe but that was fine. She was thrilled, it was a lovely suprise and said the cake was delicious. Really pleased I found this company and the little bit of joy you can send when you can't be there. Would definitely recommend.

The cake was squashed into plastic…
The cake was squashed into plastic wrap. It broke when you tried to remove it from the cardboard sheet. Cake was stale and pretty much tasteless

Disappointing taste, lovely artwork
The picture print out was genuinely beautiful and my mum (the recipient) loved it. However, that was the only good thing. I ordered 2 slices of cake which cost 24.97 (including delivery) and the cakes did not taste fresh at all and had a weird artificial taste. I don't know if it was a bad batch but for the price you pay, it's 100% not worth it. I definitely wouldn't order again which is a shame because the artwork on the card was so lovely and the whole mail bake concept is really good.
