This was our 2nd time touring with Magical Spain. They created another wonderful trip for us covering Valencia, Barcelona, San Sebastián, Guernica, Bilbao, La Rioja, Zaragoza & Madrid. Just like our trip through Andalucía last year, this was well-organized & professional with great lodging, guides, tours, transportation & 24-hr assistance if needed. We felt well taken care of & the whole experience was trouble-free with excellent recommendations for things to do & see (and eat!).

El Prado and Toledo via Magical Spain
Our Magical Spain trip included an enlightening visit to El Prado including an art expert guide who really brought the context of the artworks to life. We also had a delightful day in Toledo with a local expert guide who shared interesting history with us and showed us a few hidden gems. Highly recommended!

The UNESCO-listed old Toledo is a the former Roman outpost on the Tagus river and was medieval capital of Spain when Madrid was a village! Subsequently as Spain grew wealthy Madrid's world class art collection grew and makes El Prado a must see for culturally minded travelers. We kissed many frogs in both Spain & Portugal to find the best of the best, guide that are not only very knowledgeable but also caring, empathetic and adaptable to different styles, from PhD to novice levels. A truly “Magical” experience
I was, at first, hesitant to commit with Magical Tours, as they are pricey. That said, Dan and his crew exceeded our expectations.
Each day we were picked up at one of our our beautiful and well located hotels by competent drivers in comfortable high-end vehicle’s and delivered to prearranged tours with knowledgeable, English-speaking guides who, upon arrival at our destinations, whisked us ahead of the many, many, very large tour groups waiting for admission. Lunches and dinners were arranged for us at the finest Michelin rated restaurants. And Dan even threw in some extraordinary surprises.
We were, in every way, treated like royalty.
Thanks to their knowledge and experience, we were able to see and learn much more of Spain than we would ever have been able to accomplish on our own.
Magical tours made every effort to accommodate our wants, needs and wishes, and succeeded at every turn.

Frankly, getting all the private tour arrangements with highly ranked guides was challenging as Spain has been so heavily booked since the spring and there was not much lead time. But we have a great team & network here after 20 years. After "kissing many frogs" to find the top licensed guides, who are both experts and caring, being able to skip the lines and avoid wasting time is certainly an added benefit we are proud to provide. So we are delighted but not surprised it all came together to your satisfaction!
Personally, I'm often behind 3 computer screens and a few phones and so not always able to meet our customers. As such, it was a real pleasure to meet up with you, Steve and your very nice friends for tapas. I am also delighted that the private hiking excursions from Granada that you requested went well.
As for the daily 24-7 support, we feel this is very important therefore we limit ourselves to 5 trips on the ground at a time, so we can keep our support real & personalized. That's why we say, less is more!
If we may ever be of service again for Northern Spain, the Spanish Mediterranean or Canary Islands or Portugal please let me know!

I usually plan our trips myself, but when we started planning a lengthy trip to Spain just 2 months before departure, I turned to Magical Spain for help. I'm so glad we did, it was a fantastic trip!
We had a rough idea of where we wanted to go; after a video conference Dan and his team put together a detailed itinerary complete with hotels and (private) guided tours. We made just a few tweaks and it was done! The hotels were great, and we particularly enjoyed Caceres, which was not even on our radar. Dan and his team were also helpful answering various random questions as we prepared for the trip, and it was comforting having a 24-hour hotline that we knew we could call if we needed anything during our travels.
We tend not to do a lot of organized tours, but the ones we booked were all well worth doing and gave just enough structure to our trip. They were all private, not group tours, and we felt like we got VIP treatment! I would do all of them again, especially the olive oil mill tour/lunch, the pinxtos tour, and the all-day wine tour.

Som I give her all the credit. She also suggested skipping Zaragoza but with the right guide it can really be charming.

This is my second time traveling with Magical Spain
The first time I used Magical Spain I was traveling solo in the Andalusia region of Spain and now most recently with friends in southern Portugal. Each time I've been impressed with the quality of the drivers and guides and the selection of hotels. But what I have most appreciated is Dan's commitment to ensuring his clients see the best of the region they are exploring based on their unique interests. For instance I had never heard of Monsaraz before Dan recommended it, but our stay there was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The hotel was amazing, we had a great e-bike guided tour up to the castle, and a dark sky viewing with an astronomer and two telescopes. I also appreciated the daily check-ins over WhatsApp and his willingness to try to meet on-the-fly requests (we favored a certain driver and requested that he be our go-to, and we added an additional excursion). If I travel to Spain or Portugal again, I will definitely have Magical Spain plan the trip.

As such, it was a real pleasure to escape the office, and meet up with you and your nice friends and our guide for the fun private hiking excursions overlooking the azure waters of the Algarve coast in southern Portugal.
As for Monsaraz, we are delighted enjoyed the e-bike tour visit, it is a real hidden gem, so let's not tell everybody LOL :-). Actually Nuria & I have dozens more hidden gems in Iberia like that!

Birthday Celebration in Spain
Having Magical Spain make our plans and provide our guides made our whole trip to Spain a dream. Having a private driver take us and tour guide join us in Toledo was the highlight of our trip to Madrid. The whole city is a museum! Having a personal guide, knowledgeable about art, lead us through the Prado was the best! We walked pass the long lines and straight in. Our guide knew where to take us and explained everything. Memorable trip
Thank you Dan and team for your personal interest in helping us to plan this family adventure to the land of our ancestors. The private tour to Soria and the Pantano de La Muedra for our family group of 20 people, went very well and certainly beyond our expectations. Jesus, the driver, was very professional and accommodating to our needs and interests. Ismael, our tour guide in Soria, very knowledgable and open to questions and comments in English and Spanish.
Lunch at the Bar Vinuesa, in Vinuesa near the Pantano, also excellent. Good food and great people.

High marks to MagicalSpain. Their communication and accommodating abilities were challenged by weather, our changing schedules and two young children. It all worked out! Our tour guide spoke very good English and appealed to all ages!

Custom trip = experience of a lifetime!
Everything was fabulous: hotels, drivers, and especially the guides! Sagrada Familia was amazing. The restaurant in Evora was a wonderful surprise, a lovely lunch. We also appreciated the side trips to Toledo and Sintra. Rachel did a super job customizing our experience and ensuring we had the best trip. Highly recommend!
