awful earrings

awful earrings. bought a pair of stud earrings for my lobes i’ve had since i was 6 years old and never had any issues with earrings in them. a few days later my ears started going very itchy and scabbing, i took the earrings out to find about 3cm thick of my skin had fallen off and embedded in the back of the jewellery. ears are scared and in awful condition. do not buy!!

Friendly staff

I had my second piercings done by Shashini at the Staines branch of Lovisa on Sunday. It was particularly busy for piercings and I noticed that both ladies were friendly and reassuring.

AVOID - caused permanent injury to me ear

Awful, jewellery caused damage to my ears! I paid for their premium piercing hypoallergenic earring and was left with agony and thick scar tissue - I wrote to them and they offered a refund but after regular emails chasing up, 2 months later no refund in site and a scarred for life ear. AVOID

Avoid

I went to get 2 additional piercings on my right ear and everything seems to go fine, but I returned to the store in Cork 4 months later as I could not remove the backs and I wanted to be able to swap earrings. They removed it with a tool they have, but then when I wanted to put the earrings back in it was extremely hard, the person that pierced ears there tried to put the earring back in but it would not work and my ear started bleeding. She then said that it must have been pierced not straight and offered a new piercing on the house, which I gladly accepted. This is when the horror started, as she pierced the ear in another spot she kept getting my other piercing stuck and retried a few times, it started to hurt, then when I looked the piercing looked complety unaligned with my existing piercings and she agreed with me in this. Then she tried to remove it it the tool they have, but she kept missing and it was hurting more and more until I could no longer hold my tears, people passing the store were watching. As she could not get piercing removed she asked me to try pull with my hands, I succeeded, thankfully. Ear was bleeding from another spot now. Then she offered to re-pierce, but I could not trust them anymore. I was all in tears and after so much distress, I told her that I am too upset even to make any decision at the time and she apologised and offered to come in another time and get a free piercing. I am, off course, never coming back. I left after loosing a piercing that was already healed but now was bleeding, and a new butchered hole in my ear that was completely off. I am sure to say I am never getting their piercing service again. Avoid getting piercings there!

i visited bluewater lovisa and was met with rude and unwelcoming behaviour. There was one girl sitting behind the till uninterested to serve and another girl chatting away sitting on the side where all the jewellery is and was unwilling to move when i was trying to look. They are rude with no manners and seem like they don’t want to work there.

A Pretty Woman store experience

Visited the Milton Keynes Lovisa store on Saturday, 11 January 2025, and experienced some of the poorest and most offensive customer service I’ve ever encountered.

My daughter had bought me a pair of earrings as a Christmas gift, but due to a known allergy I couldn’t wear them. The earrings were unused, in perfect condition, and she returned with the receipt hoping for a refund, an exchange or store credit.

I understand Lovisa’s hygiene policy for earrings and hair products. However, this does not explain the inconsistent treatment we received, especially when other customers have been offered refunds, exchanges or store credit in similar situations.

What followed was simply unacceptable. The young Asian staff member who had been serving customers before us was suddenly replaced by a white woman as soon as we approached — before we had even spoken. I was later told her name is Jasmine. The abrupt switch in who was allowed to interact with us felt targeted and completely unnecessary.

During the interaction, Jasmine would point at the receipt and read sections out very slowly and deliberately, in a tone that was patronising, dismissive, and frankly offensive. She didn’t need to use explicit slurs — the behaviour spoke for itself. The whole situation felt like a strange mix of Pretty Woman and Oprah Winfrey’s Paris experience, but for returns. We left feeling singled out, uncomfortable, and unfairly treated.

Subtle discriminatory behaviour is unacceptable; overtly racist behaviour is criminal, and I would report it accordingly. If someone does not want to interact, engage or serve a certain type of customer, then they should not be involved in a customer‑facing role.

As for the items my daughter could not return, I have told her to gift them to someone else or simply dispose of them — and to never buy from Lovisa again.

I got my helix pierced at their…

I got my helix pierced at their Markville store a few months ago. I recently went back to purchase a flat-back earring and requested that they replace the original jewelry. Two staff members confirmed it could be done, but just as I was about to pay, a third associate said they were “not allowed” and had “no license to do so”

This makes no sense considering they were the ones who pierced my ear in the first place. This was confusing and disappointing, especially since changing jewelry is usually part of aftercare services. I wish this had been clearly explained at the time of piercing.

With that from what I found out to one of the associate, I would not come back in this store and do another piercing as what she said they are not “allowed” and “no license to do so”

I took my daughter to the shop in…

I took my daughter to the shop in Stirling and the experience was very concerning. I filled in the consent form and then the store decided to let someone train on her who had clearly never pierced an ear before in her life, without even mentioning to us that the person piercing her ears was a trainee. We called the store and asked to speak to the manager who was off called us back and stated the person was trained which she clearly wasn’t and then starting shouting at us that it was her day off and she was doing us a favour by calling us back before hanging up. I strongly suggest you avoid this place at all costs.

Poor experience - don’t recommend

Misleading pricing on website and in store. Advised earrings selected were £32 but were actually £39 and then without even asking me added premium aftercare solution to the bill for a further £12 to charge £51 for piercings. Daughter got her ‘seconds done’ and wanted them pierced at the same time . Second assistant was just ‘learning’ and missed the agreed mark for the piercing resulting in asymmetrical position.not happy

Rude staff members

Horrible experience!

So I went to the store like two days ago and I put on the necklace and the charm fell off and I called and they said there’s nothing they can do about it which I totally understand but their jewelry is not good quality at all if it just broke so if I could put negative starts I would. Horrible experience and won’t be going back. Don’t waste your money!

Bought as a present for my grandaughter for Xmas.
Within a week the belly bar snapped, leaving part of it embedded in the piercing which now has to be professionally removed!

Absolutely devastated, Lovisa need to quality check their products and not sell such items

Update: 3 emails later still no response from Lovisa!! No reply from their mobile customer services number!

Joondalup store supposed to open at 9am (Tuesday 30/12). Two staff were visible & were aware I was waiting outside. They were standing talking at the counter & didn't bother to open the door until 9.06. I was about to walk away!

I bought here for the first time a couple of years ago when i bought more than 20 piercing which turned green not even after two weeks. After that i thought maybe it was my mistake by buying the wrong material. not long after i bought another batch not only same problem occorre but it gave my ears infection as soon as I put them in ( piercings which have been geweld for years now) they write on their piercing packages stainless waterproof titanium and so in but it cannot be true as every one of the materials i tried turned green not even after two weeks and gave me infections. I spent so much money here every time hoping it will be different. If you buy cheap stuff at least dont pretend the are good materials since it could give your customers problems!!!! Never buying here again and honestly if u could i would demand all my money back.
