Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 165 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the products to be of very low quality, with items easily breaking, tarnishing, or causing allergic reactions and infections. Reviewers frequently reported that jewelry broke quickly, sometimes even before being worn or within a few days or weeks of purchase. The pricing was also a common point of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that items were overpriced given their poor quality. Some people were dissatisfied with the staff, describing them as rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful, particularly during piercing services or when addressing product issues. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the staff were lovely, helpful, and provided great service, especially during piercing procedures. A few other people also felt that the jewelry was cute, stylish, and affordable, lasting well if properly cared for.

Earring pack

I had bought an earring pack and I used the studs for 2 days straight and showered with them. They are already tarnished, they smell bad, and they left black residue on my right ear. I do not recommend buying their earrings!

Poor quality and rude staff

My friend bought me some bracelets for my birthday and the quality is absolutely appalling! Once i'd put the bracelets on they all broke. Terrible quality.
Also, the many times i have been to Lovisa, the staff have seemed as if they would rather be anywhere else and are very dismissive of you and most of the time wont even speak loud enough or at all. Not even a "how are you?" Rude staff.

Dangerous false advertising - NOT hypoallergenic!

WARNING: “hypoallergenic” “sterling silver” earrings are NOT what they claim to be! I was excited to try these as they seemingly had a cute range and I am very allergic to other metals, but after a day of wearing I had a horrible allergic reaction that led to an infection needing antibiotics. What is worse is that when I contacted the company about this, they kept challenging me (also starting all their emails with a condescending “Oh no!”), first asking for photos of my “infected ear”, then trying to make me return those used gross earrings to the store. I pushed back and said that I shouldn’t have to travel back to return earrings they will (hopefully) just throw away, and they instead offered me a gift voucher for the same jewelry I am clearly allergic to. All of this hassle is over 18£, which they are clearly too cheap to refund me normally. AVOID!!!

Poor Practice

Lovisa (chinook location) should really check with parents before piercing teens ears. Just because they “can” doesn’t mean they should.

London Lovisa

London Lovisa
I had my third lobe and low helix pierced two weeks ago at Lovisa. The low helix has healed well and I’ve had no issues with it. However, the third lobe piercing has been nothing but trouble.

The earring they pierced my lobe with was far too small. One night while I was asleep, the earring sank into the hole and the piercing started to close over it. When I woke up and realised what had happened, I had to push it back through, which caused my ear to bleed, swell, throb & pain.

I went back to Lovisa and explained that the earring they used was too small and asked them to remove it and replace it with a more suitable one. I was told they couldn’t change it as she is not allowed to change the earring, they don’t have the license to do so or have the correct tools. I find it very frustrating that they are able to pierce ears but are unable to remove or replace the jewellery they used.

In the end, I had to visit a professional piercing and tattoo studio, where they thankfully helped me by removing the original earring and inserting a longer bar & bigger stud.

I really wish Lovisa had informed me from the beginning about their policy and ensured the jewellery used was appropriate in size. This experience has been disappointing.

The lady asks you for an email to get a receipt which is total BS. A consumer is under no obligation to provide an email to get PROOF of purchase! She even said NO RETURN! Very unprofessional. I don’t know what they are hiding they do not want to provide a receipt! They need your email to send you marketing BS!

I repeat DO NOT BUY from this store!!!

Worst experience ever. They pierce without a license or any knowledge! They blame the customers when something goes wrong on their behalf. They just advise you their cleanser to gain more profit.

Visited this Glasgow store located in Buchanan Galleries. Poor customer service! The worker on the shop floor had a really sore negative attitude towards my grandmother and spoke rudely to me when I confronted her about it. Safe to say I won't be back again.
I would suggest they find a new team member who treats customers with patience and respect.

Rude, deceptive, and discriminatory behaviour of store manager on Oxford Street, London

I had a very upsetting experience at Lovisa Oxford Street, London on Sunday 31 January 2026, around 12:30pm due to the rude, deceptive, and discriminatory behaviour of the store manager (curly-haired woman).

I returned to exchange a pair of faulty earrings bought at the same store. After initially denying there was a fault, the manager reluctantly agreed to an exchange. However, when I selected a replacement pair, she refused to proceed with the exchange and insisted that I must buy a different pair of earrings, citing “hygiene reasons” because I had briefly tried one on. There was no signage or prior warning about this policy, which felt deceptive and unfair.

When I questioned this and asked for help in store, I was repeatedly told to call Customer Service instead. No one answered. The manager prevented her staff from addressing my concern or serving me, repeatedly insisting that I contact Customer Service, despite the issue occurring in store. She then accused me of harassment, called security to escort me out, threw my original earrings onto the counter, and said she would not serve me.

Throughout the interaction I was treated with no respect or dignity, and I cannot ignore the feeling that I was treated this way because I am Asian and do not look or sound British.

In the end, she reluctantly instructed her staff to complete the exchange, yet continued blaming me, saying that I did not deserve her service.

Unprofessional, misleading, and discriminatory. I will not return to this store.
