Wonderful.
My wife and I spent four nights Friday 13th to Tuesday 17th in Llangollen staying at the Riversdale House B&B, Olivia and Georgina were wonderful hosts, we were made to feel welcome as soon as the front door was opened, our room and bathroom were marvellous, comfy and spacious with terrific views across the railway, river and up to the mountains beyond and the continental style breakfast basket will keep you going all day. The town had a two day food festival on Saturday and Sunday, so many stalls with foods to try and buy plus entertainment, in the town and at the bandstand which is a lovely little walk up the beautiful river Dee, It was nice to see the food stalls spread around the town and at the railway so that all the areas of the town benefitted from all the visitors that it attracted. Our evening meals for four nights were eaten at The Cornmill which is situated beside the river Dee, with a bar and a large decking area for those days when it's warm enough to sit outside plus a great restaurant spread over three floors serving a marvellous selection of fresh cooked food most of which don't include "chips", the staff there were all lovely and friendly which is always a bonus. We also had a trip on the Llangollen Railway, sadly they weren't running steam over the weekend even though the food festival was on and there seemed to be a lot of visitors in town but we still had a trip behind a heritage diesel loco down the Dee valley to the brand new Corwen station, well done to all involved in getting this station built and we would thoroughly recommend a trip. Role on October 2024.
