Worst Smart LG Tv
Worst Smart LG Tv. Since installation, I have had numerous problems. Customer service is not helpful. The TV keeps updating programs daily, denying TV viewing. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE KEEP AWAY FROM LG
Great picture/sound but poor remote control and bugs
Bought a new LG OLED55C44LA in January 2025. Having had it for a full year I thought it was time to give it a review. In short:
- Set up easy
- Great picture
- Great sound (although I purchased a sound bar with it which does make a positive difference)
- Poor remote control where some of the buttons have started to fade. I've had to paint them with clear nail varnish to stop further deterioration. This is just poor design LG. Also, like many people, I don't find the remote's wheel easy to use.
- Like many other people, I can't use the "Test Signal" option as all I get is the spinning wheel of doom. LG's response seems to be that if you can receive all channels (which I can), it's not a problem. But it is a problem to me. I'm one of your customers LG who has paid a lot of money for your TV. Don't be so dismissive. A simple software update should be sufficient in the same way that Apple do to fix bugs and the like.
So, LG, if you want repeat customers and recommendations you need to improve on some aspects of your service.
Disappearing Free Movie Vouchers
LG banner stated 5 X £5.49 movie vouchers. But when I signed in and verified they mysteriously disappeared along with the banner.
LG Smart TVs and HDMI ARC CEC
LG Smart TV's run WebOS.
WebOS is much like Windows is to your PC - if it's buggy, your TV will not work properly.
For 10 years LG and other high-end TV and home cinema companies have failed to get HDMI -CEC, SIMPLINK, ARC or eARC working together without problems - YES 10 YEARS!!!
If you are really unlucky, and you chose PIONEER kit for your home cinema/surround sound audio system - you have descended into the seventh circle of hell Your very expensive multi-speaker setup and AV receiver will never work with your even more expensive LG OLED all-singing, AI-assisted, all-dancing huge TV - you won't get decent sound without endless pillocking about unplugging this, restarting that, resetting the other, re-initialising something else, power recycling every thing you own down to the kitchen kettle, replacing all your cables...
JUST TO GET SOUND OUT OF YOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD???
Instead, you'll have to settle for tinny, quacky TV speaker sound (NETFLIX on a baby alarm anyone?) while your intelligent, AI-configured, supremely powerful 8-speaker 400 watt Dolby ATMOS audio system does Silent Night - all night - every night.
Surely a problem which affects thousands of (now ex) customers must be very quickly solved overnight with a new WebOS release/firmware update yes?
Well, LG used to be a laughing stock for the sheer number of software updates it used to pump out every year. You'd spend more time watching your TV updating itself, than actually viewing anything.
So they've put an end to that too - the latest release of WebOS 25 turned out to be so buggy, it made things very much worse, with many hundreds more people now suddenly unable to get sound via HDMI ARC CEC - so the roll-out of WebOS is now suspended for the foreseeable.
May I respectfully suggest that, until LG finally and completely fixes this problem, anyone thinking of buying LG needs to suspend opening their wallets for the foreseeable future too?
Imagine Microsoft telling its millions of customers - we're sorry your mouse or your keyboard or your screen has stopped working. But we're looking into it again (as we have been for 10 years now), and with luck we'll have an answer in a month or two....
TV do whatever it likes
TV do whatever it likes! Option auto turn off after 4 hours is switched off but it turns off anyway! First and last time bought LG tv crap ....
Worse tv I’ve ever bought
Worse tv I’ve ever bought, tv guide takes over a minute to load(it should be instant ffs it’s internet) every time the tv switch’s on it turns to a pc screen of options, I thought I bought a TV not a master computer. The sound and picture are absolutely standard, I’ve had better from Argos. The most annoying thing which has happened about 30 times is the tv switched to automatic audio description mode, which is essentially TV description for the blind but annoying as folk for people with eyes watching the TV. Never again LG TVs are too much hassle to work for no improvements on quality, don’t bother wasting your money!!
Terrible television wish I had never…
Terrible television wish I had never seen bought it. Keeps turning off to update had to buy another remote the one provided was rubbish. Customer service no help even congratulated me on buying a new remote as older !! people have difficulty sometimes (nice)controls so complicated so slow to load/react I could go on
the worst tv appliance I ever…
the worst tv appliance I ever purchased-user data interface nearly impossible to negotiate-telephone support representative conversation equally bad due to heavy foreign accent-two way discussion near impossible as if she was reading from a computer terminal like a robot. Utterly stressful experience all around-life is definitely NOT good with LG. The company is breaking the trades description act with its name.
Oled TV doesn't work
Oled TV doesn't work, waiting for collection of broken TV, I paid £1414.00. they say they will refund me 14 working days after they collect TV. Customer service is based in Philippines. I don't know when they will collect TV. Avoid.
The worst tv I have ever had so…
The worst tv I have ever had so difficult to use the remote has no exit so unable to go back no source button so very difficult to use other devices certainly not user friendly especially if older person
Absolutely the worst!
Absolutely the worst!
Caters to the Subpar Canadian programs and news stations.
Plays the same commercials repetitively and I mean REPETITIVELY….to the point that I must mute the commercials when they come on!!!
I wish I could give them zero stars!
I wish I could give them zero stars!! Tv turns on and off by itself! To book a repair you have to jump through sooo many hoops including taking a video if the tv doing that by itself! How one is supposed to do that, or even so why!! Is baffling! Still the repair is not booked, no refund or replacement before they try 3 times!! What a waste!
Avoid avoid Avoid!!!
Awful
Awful, terrible, dreadful, appalling, atrocious television!!!!!! The WORST TV we’ve ever owned. Turns itself off mid program to update apps with no warning or options, guide regularly fails leaving you not knowing what programs are on, sound booms on adverts although quiet through programs. So, so, so frustrating. Hate it. For the sake of your sanity do not buy LG, it will just drive you NUTS!!!!
Worst TV I’ve ever owned
Purchased LG OLED Ai TV for £2k from Curry’s within ten minutes of using I had buyers remorse, the operating system is so bad that even my kids who are young said this TV Sucks, its unresponsive, slow, clunky and various apps intermittently work, often have a black screen after using you tube, programmes stall and start and the AI is useless, absolutely useless, fortunately Curry’s are taking it back and refunding me.
Poor interface
I recently bought a LG oled TV. While the picture is good, the interface is infuriatingly unintuitive. The remote has a pointer which mostly has to be used to control the TV, and each app appears to work completely differently and sometimes not at all - navigation through Prime TV is especially poor. I only give 3 stars because the picture is good - without oled it's a one star TV.
LG43QNED87A6D
LG43QNED87A6D
I wanted a tv, but seem to have bought a computer.
The latest operating system webos25, does not have the ability to control screen aspect of its internal apps such as Netflix/ prime etc.
This means 25% of the screen is lost to cropped areas. So you buy a big telly to get 75% of the area.
Best buy a cheaper telly and a firestick, roku etc.
I wish I could give them zero stars
I wish I could give them zero stars. The customer service was completely unprofessional — they clearly don’t care about their customers or the inconvenience they cause. I would never recommend them, and I certainly won’t be purchasing any products from them again.
Amazing TV - LG TV 65QNED86
I’ve wanted a bigger TV for absolutely ages and I know LG products are good but I didn’t realise just how good this TV would be. I was shocked just how big a 65inch TV was… especially next to a 55inch TV. Be prepared to be in for a shock. But putting this TV on it’s like having a cinema in your lounge. The picture is crystal clear, sound amazing even without a soundbar and I’ve loved watching all sorts on it. Highly recommended to anyone. I’ve been raving about it to all my friends since the moment it was delivered.
The worse most rubbish tv i have ever…
The worse most rubbish tv i have ever purchased. It is very very very slow to do anything and the sound quality is terrible.
Poor customer service
Bought a tv but unhappy with the picture quality so I requested an upgrade.
Very unhelfu customer service.
Spoke very poor English
