Drivers great. Hotel appalling. Door to door service a rip off.

Let's start with the positives: Our drivers, Rob and Simon from Ridley's coach company (on behalf of Leger) were excellent. They deserve a 10 out of 10. The excursions and guided tours were good, however, due to the location of the hotel, so far from the places to be visited, travelling to the destinations took (too) many hours each day. Now the negatives: the hotel Verdi in Fiuggi was awful. It is no joke to say that it was modelled on Fawlty Towers and run for the convenience of the proprietor rather than the guests. It was tired and poorly maintained. Breakfast was basic, consisting of a lot of pre-wrapped sweet cakes and biscuits. The only savoury choice was processed cheese and salami. Not a single egg, fried, boiled, scrambled or poached offered. Evening meal could be ordered at breakfast but had to be paid for in cash at 20 Euros per person. Not a lot you may say, but the meal was very, very, basic and not worth the money. The atmosphere in the dining room was like school dinners, with the staff trying to get the guests out as quickly as possible. We and most of the other guests went into town to eat after the first night. We usually like to end the evening with a coffee and a drink before bed whilst on holiday, but no coffee was available in the evening. One morning, we had to have cold showers as the hot water seemed to be turned off after breakfast. In summary, we will be very reluctant to book with Leger again due to the very poor standard of hotel we experienced. Fiuggi is full of decent hotels, but Hotel Verdi must be the worst, and probably the cheapest. One final criticism - we booked the door to door service. The taxi arrived on time for my wife and I. It then went to the designated pick up point for those in the area that did not book the door to door service and picked up a further two passengers. There was hardly any room for 4 peoples' luggage and we were squeezed in a small taxi for the trip to Maidstone services. So we paid £140! to squeeze into a small taxi which diverted to pick up people who hadn't paid for the door to door service. So perhaps make enquiries before you shell out for this "service".

One I’ll never forget

I’ve done a few of these battle field trips and they never fail to teach me something new. Couldn’t recommend this one enough, loved it, best one yet. The drivers were amazing and Dave the tour guide was very knowledgeable. You must try it for yourself

Recently enjoyed mountains of Mourne tour thanks to Dan & Matt. They really did put 110% into making the tour and excursions very enjoyable. They were very informative and fun wherever we travelled each day. The service they provide serving drinks etc on the coach was outstanding.
They really did make our holiday and would definitely recommend joining Matt and Dan on their travels.

Consideration of the customer is the last thing on the itinerary

If you want to go on a school history trip to Ireland for 6 days with no fun except long hours on a coach.
If you like late travel information you only get 2weeks before your holiday starts, that you will have no control over, of possible coach journeys of up to 18 hours plus through the night with continuous interruptions as you pick up others.
If your idea of a holiday is early mornings 5 or 6am and not back until 6/6.30 with barely enough time to freshen up before dinner 7/7.30 and only short stops for lunch or even shorter stops for comfort breaks or pictures.
If you like Grumpy Staff who I would ask should treat and respect the customer as they would expect to be treated. Perhaps lead by example.
Then this is your holiday!!
Faulty Towers on a coach!! Don’t ask questions only when spoken to. Dont mention the water!!

If you want to see Ireland

If you want to see Ireland, this is the trip, especially with chris and Damian our two drivers. Helpful, happy, courteous and knowledgable.A couple of tweaks over length of stay at some stops would have given it a 5 star

Amazing sites seen and places visited.

Amazing sites seen and places visited.
Tom and Paris really made the trip. They were so friendly and accommodating and always professional. They had the passengers enjoyment and safety first.
More time needs factoring into Dublin at the end. Not enough time to see everything. Also suggest remove Portrush as really nothing there, or swap for Portstewart. issues in the Ballilyfin hotel. Not very prepared staff wise. The main issue was that we all had a lesser meal than other guests staying. Eg cooked breakfast was small by any standards. The beans were actually served in an egg cup! Other guests had black pudding, mushrooms, etc, that we didn't get. A main meal we had, chicken curry, other guests had poppadom, but we didn't. Really think this needs tackling with them.
Dunadry hotel was faultless and the plaza too. The first night hotel basic but adequate.
Overall I would love to book more trips. Need to know Tom and Paris allocation first before booking though.

We've recently returned from a tour of…

We've recently returned from a tour of the Paradors and Posadas of Spain and Portugal. It was one of the best holidays we've had. Travel in the Luxuria coach is very comfortable and the miles just seemed to slip by. The accommodation was interesting and of a very high standard. The food was excellent with the odd exception, but what pleases some doesn't please others. Our excursions took us to some picturesque and interesting places. The crew made the holiday fun for one and all, so a big shout out to Richard and Marcus. Booking is easy and the staff in the booking office are always friendly.

Two down a third booked and anticipated

Our second Leger tour which was exceptional. Accommodating drivers and a first class tour guide who was very knowledgeable and who understood the needs and capabilities of his party; unlike the two guides on our first tour in 2024! The whole itinerary was completed with many extras. Hotel was very comfortable with lovely food. We have already booked a third tour for July 2027. Well done.

Wonderful trip to Normandy

Wonderful trip to Normandy. The coach was luxurious. Our crew Rachael and Shaun were superb, Ian our guide was exemplary. I would certainly give five stars but the hotel let Leger down initially but improved after the crew and Head Office intervened.
