Corrupt company
What sort of company thinks it's acceptable to violate the Nuremberg code as well as human rights and fire an employee for not wanting to take an experimental gene altering vaccine??? Shame on you!
Almost impossible to get an appointment…
Almost impossible to get an appointment with my PCP Their service standards (and the State DMHC requirements) say must be within 10 business days but no appointments available in the next two months.
Multiple attempts throughout 2023, even changed my PCP,same result. Only way to see a physician is at the ER for $100 copay.
We need legislation to prohibit healthcare providers from taking on new customers untill they comply with State requirements. The legislation should also prohibit charging a copay for ER visits if the provider is not in compliance with DMHC regulations.
1 week wait for a simple Strep Test.
I started feeling bad yesterday and continued to get worse today. I called today for an appointment to get a Strep Test and I was told the earliest I could get the test was next week Wednesday. (The lady on the phone checked 3 different facilities.) Then she transfer me to talk to a Nurse. The Nurse on the phone said that I did not need a Strep Test, and if I did have Strep that it will eventually will clear up on it own and that I do not need any medication. I will be looking into other health care options next year!! If you are considering changing your health plan to Kaiser, you may want to rethink that discussion. Don't get me wrong the Doctors and staff are great to work with, but if you can not get an appointment in a timely fashion what good does it do? Earlier this year the Kaiser employees went on strike to get more help in its facility, it has not happened. So if you do not mind waiting a week or longer for an appointment, Kaiser will be a good choice for Health Care. All I know is that premium is over $260.00 a paycheck, for what? I have to wait to a week for a simple Strep Test. What would Kaiser do if I was late on paying my premium? Would it be ok if I told them that "eventually" I will pay you? If Kaiser can not see their members in a timely manner, they should reimburse their members their premium. I pay my premiums on time, I should get the same, to be seen on a timely manner.
A For-Profit Business; NOT A "Health Care" Co.
Subpar insurance with substandard care. Very disappointed/unsatisfied with KP, especially since we pay over $1,000 per month for insurance. Most of the administrators, caregivers, and medical personnel are either unqualified, inept, or just stretched so thin that they don't really even care. Many, many things fall thru the cracks at KP and most of the time the right hand does not even know what the left hand is doing. The majority of the caregivers we have seen (be it at TownPark, GlenLake, Sandy Springs, Cumberland, or Holly Springs locations) are simply going thru the motions and are not genuinely concerned about quality patient care in the least. Sadly, our entire Healthcare system in this country has gone to the dogs. Yesterday, I
waited over 1 hour in a waiting area before I was called back for appt. I arrived in building at 3:20 pm for my 3:30 appt. I had to wait in a short line with 1-2 people in front of me to check in. I checked it at 3:28pm according to my check-in receipt. I paid a co-pay and proceeded to go & sit down. Sat in waiting room for 45 mins before I got up and asked the check-in attendent, had the dermatology dept had an emergency or why were they running so late? She said "no, they were not running behind." I proceeded to tell her I'd been waiting 45 mins and still have not been called. She phoned back to dermatology.. aparently, they had canceled my appt and considered me a "no show." She apologized and instructed me to sit back down in waiting room and they would eventually see me. I was the only person left in the waiting room at this point. Personnel was closing and locking up doors, etc. Nonetheless, someone finally called me back about 15-18 mins later. I was seen, even tho it appeared as tho the office was closed, no one was around, etc. For over a year now, we've been very disappointed in the service, lack of quality care, the exorbitant costs, the inept caregivers with KP, and this incident was pretty much my last straw. I plan to be dropping KP very soon, during the open enrollment period next month.
Above and Beyond Thank You!
Kaisers ER & 3rd floor Doctors, nursing and staff went above and beyond for my husband Thank you from the bottom of my heart ! Patient Rm 309 10/9-10/13 Fresno Ca
My Doctor is a very nice man, his workmanship is second to none.
My Doctor is a very nice, hardworking gentleman who works with his patiences with kindness and love.
He has great attitude towards his patients and his relationship towards us are second to none.
Thanks Dr. Mohamed for your kind ear, listening with likeness and kindness as well as great working relationship.
My whole family is with Kaiser
My whole family is with Kaiser. We were, or are, public employees, they are one of two choices we have for subsidized health insurance.
I must say, most of the doctors and technicians are very attentive. But for me, most, just isn’t good enough, when it costs me 1/3 of my pension for health insurance.
Two years ago, my mom took my father to the emergency room at the Rock Creek facility with severe abdominal and chest pain. As we waited, and my dad groaned in pain, I had to go to the nurse desk, and interrupt the security person flirting with the nurse to ask if my dad could get meds to make him more comfortable. The doctor came in a little while later to tell us after his tests “ your dad’s heart is strong, no problems with his heart “. A couple weeks later, after follow up ekg, and eeg, we were told that he required bypass heart surgery. ?????
Just one example. As I said, I think most of the doctors are competent, but for the money, and my health, they should all be. I could go on and on. Appointment locations not accurate, times not accurate!
Very Sad! The greatest country in the world. Health care, not so great! I’m not religious, but I talk to god when I go to Kaiser!
A complete failure
Every month since March they consistently failed to process autopayments from a perfectly valid credit card, so I had to manually call each month to pay the premium. In June it was switched directly to a bank account to avoid this issue, but again I had to pay manually over the phone. In July not only did the payment fail to process, but they also did not notify me about this as they had in previous months. In August they canceled my plan, also without telling me, and I only found out after my dentist's office called me the day before an appointment to let me know that my coverage was not active. I again had to call to pay the premium for July, which was significantly higher than in previous months.
As an anesthesiologist navigating…
As an anesthesiologist navigating surgery at Kaiser for family members I am negatively impressed. Do not recommend. Multimodal pain control is mediocre at best which is inexcusable in this day and age.
A Good Day at the Doctors Office
Today I visited my Primary Care Doctor, Dr. Millay, and her Nurse Keesha in Santa Monica. Dr Millay has been my doctor for about 10years. Seeing her is like visiting an old friend. We catch up on what has been going on in our lives. And she explains in terms that I can understand what is going on with me physical. Her Nurse Keesha was very warm and friendly and caring, much like Dr. Millay.
Thank you for a good day at the doctors office,
Jackie
Anxiety instead of treatment.
They will fill you with anxiety in their attempt to keep costs down. They do not care about you, they care about the bottom line.
I have a couple keretinosis spots on my scalp and the doctor thought it had to be biopsied and let me sit in suspense for a whole five weeks before telling me it was just a minor skin issue AND the policy of Kaiser wasn't to treat those kinds of things?!?
A year later, it grew larger and I went to a non-kaiser doctor who immediately saw what it was and zapped it with liquid nitrogen and fixed it in just a couple minutes.
It really does feel like Kaiser hires all the people who fail medical school.
Worse, they make you wait for 3-6 hours for an APPOINTMENT you made, in an unventilated room filled with sick people. This cannot be for the good of the people, definitely for the good of Kaiser's pocketbook.
If you can afford someone else, stay away from these butchers and non-doctors doing cosplay as doctors.
UPDATE: Also, their website, which they REQUIRE you to use, is inaccessible to anyone with disabilities, which is a slap in the face of ADA laws. Site is difficult to use and pretty much only an advanced engineer is going to be able to safely navigate the site.
Cindy in Gastroenterology, Kaiser, Roseville, Eireka
Kaiser; Roseville, CA, Eureka location, Station 24, Second Floor. Gastroenterology department. Cindy checked my wife in and clearly gave me specific information and instructions as the driver for my wife. She was exceptional with her manner, and was most polite, and friendly. She is clearly an asset to Kaiser. She’s a people person and as I sat waiting I saw her warm welcoming enthusiastic manner with many Kaiser patients. Please take a moment to commend Cindy for her excellent and exceptional customer service.
New member -First Call - Not a great impression
As a new member, my first call with the new members service team was with a person who clearly was rushing the call, her tone felt quite annoyed. Although she kept saying if you need anything just call, she was overusing it in a way to just close the call. Perhaps put some more effort in supporting new members booking their first appointments?
Absolutely the worst
Absolutely the worst. I needed surgery and they postponed me for 8 years in pain. They want more money no way. They want to raise wages they have enough money it's ridiculous. They suggest only natural teas to live.
Kaiser is steadfast and excellent
I had visited what I thought was a reputable optometrist not affiliated with Kaiser yesterday because my right eye was blurry and scratchy and dry. I spent over two hours where the doctor looked closely in my eyes, measured, dilated and took pics. She kept saying something is different about your right eye. It’s gotten worse, referred me to an ophthalmologist for a cornea check. Later in the day, 7 hours later, both eyes were almost still fully dilated! I called Kaiser advice and talked to a nurse. She made an appointment for me for this morning. Within ten minutes of arriving at Kaiser optical department and every tech and assistant being knowledgeable and friendly, the optometrist took me back and looked in my eye with a scope and said, “do you realize you have a contact in your eye?“. I was completely shocked; we removed it quickly, and I got instant relief. Apparently, when I was trying on contacts two days prior, I had put in two contacts instead of one from a used container of mine and quickly removed the one contact because it was uncomfortable never realizing I had put two in the same eye. I’m so thankful for the level of knowledge and professionalism Kaiser doctors always exhibit and I’m a proud member for over 25 years. Thank you Kaiser; no telling what could have happened to my eye if I had not made an appointment with Kaiser for that second opinion.
Drew Colagrosso at the Westminster…
Drew Colagrosso at the Westminster Facility provided kind and caring service. I am so glad the Chiropractic care is included as part of my KP coverage. I had never been to a Chiropractor before and I am very pleased with the results. It was a long wait for a physical Therapy appt. so I chose this in the meantime and my symptoms are much better. Please continue to offer this service.
Kaiser Permanente seems like they do not care!
I have been a Kaiser member in Oregon for over 11 years and I am so fed up with the "customer service" or actually lack of it!! I was on a "waiting list" for 1 year before I could have my hip replacement surgery. I have tried to schedule my dermatology appointment 5 times and each time I call I get the exact same thing "we are all booked up" but you could go to Longview WA in Oct if that works. NO, it doesn't because I live and work around Tualatin Oregon and I can't take that much time off of work. I asked them if they would refer me out to a different place like the Portland Clinic and they said no we do not do that any longer. This has been the case with any doctor I have tried to schedule an appointment with including my annual mammogram. I don't understand the lack of care I have received from Kaiser. I sure wish I could afford to get a different insurance company.
Kaiser has certainly gotten worse after Covid
I saw Dr. O…,DO in Urgent Care Southwood for neck pain x 1 week 5/20/2023. I explained to Dr. O… I was in constant pain in my neck area x 1 week. The doctor felt the need to order a drug Screen (did not inform me). My belief is when doctors hear pain they believe immediately that patients are drug seekers and some are. That’s why you should always take the time to read the patient’s chart. I wonder if they read the patient’s history before they make up in their mind that patients are drug seekers. Yes the word called pain makes some physicians feel that before getting to know a patient they automatically feel patients are drug seekers. No where is there an indication that I am nor had I ever been one in my past. I’ve had Lupus, liver and lung sarcoidosis since 2013. I’ve had osteoarthritis and DDD for a few years as well as other autoimmune disorders. That’s why I say again it’s good to read the patients history before you pass judgment. I Saw Dr. L…,5/23/2023 due to neck pain. I informed her that I had a chest x-ray and it was discovered that I had DDD and osteoarthritis. She ordered a MRI of my neck. I called radiology and they informed me that the next available was 7/17/2023. I thought to myself but I’m in pain. 5/25/2023 and 6/4/2023 I left 2 messages for Dr. L…, saying that I’m still having severe pain and could she possibly put a stat on the MRI so I wouldn’t have to wait until 07/19. Her nurse M…M, NP responded by medical portal on 5/25 and 6/7. I was very displeased with her messages. Dr. L…., decided to call 7/3/2023 after I left the first two messages in May and early June in the medical portal. And had been to urgent care several times. I think at times people forget you are human and yes feel pain at times. I don’t have to take steroids or pain medication if I don’t want to. I worked in the medical field for several years with different specialties. I had the pleasure of working for an excellent surgeon. I saw what pain meds can do to people. It can cause severe constipation and I already have IBS. While steroids treats inflammation it also have other serious side effects. So why would I want to take either one. I had so many steroids in my system that I became pre diabetic. But did any doctor read that in my chart before prejudging me. I remember I was constantly told you should always smile when talking to people over the phone. I clearly knew Dr. L…, wasn’t smiling while she was speaking to me. She started asking me where was my pain. Im thinking to myself she should have been more concerned to hear I’m still having pain. And the fact that I’m still having pain whether its constant pain in my neck or upper back who cares: I’ve been suffering with this pain for over a month (I thought she could have acted like she cared). She basically said without saying she would not order a stat MRI. She also told me not to go back to the ER. I assumed because I refused to take opioids or steroids. Sometimes it’s not what you say but how you say it. I thought she was rude and unprofessional the way she spoke to me over the phone. After being with Kaiser almost 6 years come September I’m really considering leaving Kaiser. I just don’t understand while some of their doctors are excellent (my doctors that are treating me now are the best) others act like they don’t care.
KP commercials are lies! All they want is your money! They don't care about serving you
I made an appointment for their behavioral health department they said the next available appointment was a month and a half before I could do a video call with a doctor. The day of the appointment I received a phone call stating that the appointment was not a "real" appointment with any real doctor and that the earliest real appointment wouldn't be available for another month and a half! Thankfully I'm not suicidal! But Here's the real outlook in this, the government demands that we have to pay for insurance but the insurance companies are NOT required to provide you with the coverage you pay for! The insurance company made it mandatory by the government to get your money legally BUT there isn't any thing you can do to make them provide you the service that you pay for!!
KP has yet to do anything for me.
