I purchased a Kim+Ono kimono for my wife at a premium price. Within one week, the stitching holding one of the inner ties came loose. The inner ties were never used, so this was not caused by wear or misuse.
I contacted Kim+Ono support and was told they do not cover “normal wear and tear.” Stitching failing within a week on a lightly worn, expensive garment is not normal wear and tear. It is poor construction.
Within the following week, additional stitching in the inner lining unraveled. My wife only wears this kimono while relaxing at home. The most strain it experiences is laying on a couch.
Kim+Ono ultimately stated there was nothing they would do, offering only 20% off a future purchase. Their solution to a garment actively falling apart was to encourage buying another one.

The issues are clear:
- Low-quality stitching
- Rapid structural failure under minimal use
- Customer support that dismisses legitimate defects

I will never buy from Kim+Ono again. For the price, this level of quality and support is unacceptable.

I was so excited ! Í bought my robe on vacation in Chinatown in San Fransisco CA less than a year ago and it was so beautiful and comfortable unfortunately after one gentle wash the stitching around the arms has started coming apart . Went to chat trying to see if they would fix not wanting money back just wanting to see if they were able to fix it and after chatting a little bit I was asked for my card information and then a $50 charge a month not sure what for ? Definitely seems like a scam so I chose to post my experience instead . The robe is gorgeous and so comfortable. The reason for low score it’s sewn poorly and bad customer service . I wanted to buy for all the women in my life but unfortunately poorly sewn and not good quality . I’ve had a Victoria Secret robe for 20 years that’s still going strong and is my favorite .

Horrible customer service. I’ve emailed them twice and never received a response regarding my return status. Their return policy sucks and they charge you $60 for shipping if you return an item.

Also, for the price point you’re paying, you’d expect real silk not cheap polyester.

Really disappointed in this company.

I love my long wrap kimono. I have had it for about a year and recently ordered 2 more, one for my mother and one for my daughter. I'm considering the washable robe for myself soon. I did read a negative purchase about the color fading. I think it's important to follow the instructions for care. In my own experience, the old washers that aren't open inside used to ruin all my delicates even on gentle and cold setting. Maybe take your item someplace else to be cleaned if you happen to have an older model washer/dryer. I've had no uses and my robe has held up for a year. I wear it around the house. I've had it on cleaning and doing chores. But for the most part just lounging. It's been washed several times and still like new. 🙂

I ordered a Kimono for my daughter's birthday! It was very vibrant and beautiful! The pictures she took with the robe were amazing!

I did not receive my product, and never was issued a refund when trying to contact them about it.

I had to dispute this with my CC company.

I like bed in Japan for a decade and I travel extensively in Asian countries, so I have a large collection of silks and kimono. These are subpar quality in every way and not worth the price. The stitching is poorly done and although the patterns are pretty, the material is cheap. Also, they close on the funeral side (right over left) which is just cringe and shows a lack of respect and commitment. I regret this purchase.

They are beautiful robes but are clearly not intended for everyday wear. More like a special occasion article of clothing. I only wear mine for an hour or so in the morning but I have gone through 2 in one year. The material is very delicate and stretches and rips eventually.

I would like to thank Alexis and her team for their assistance in going above and beyond for us to receive our order in time for my daughter's birthday. Through my own fault (improper name input thru Chrome autofil) DHL was not able to ship my package and unfortunately it took many many calls to DHL US and DHL Canada (who do not communicate with each other very effectively) by myself and Alexis and her team to figure out what was the cause of the delay. Alexis followed up everyday and she got to the bottom of the issue and kept me in the loop at all times which I really appreciated. I felt taken care of. Thank you Alexis. So looking forward to my daughter opening up her gift this week end.

This is the second kimono I have ordered from KIM + ONO. The quality of the silk is superb and the colors and designs are very vibrant. I highly recommend.

I have ordered two washable silk robes for my mom and I. I washed it once as per the provided instruction and the robe lost it’s colours, the shine and firmness of the fabric, has white lines all over it and looks absolutely poorly. Not the quality I was expecting for the price I paid.

Thank you, the order came quickly and I love this wrap. I love that it has pockets. I think the sizing is kind of off. I was wanting a wrap I could wear out, but these seem pretty long for streetwear, and big. I wish I could say I'm a tiny little thing, but I'm not. Anyway, I do love the wrap for the house and I'll probably find some glammy way to wear it for the holidays.

Beautiful products and store, very very nice people and super quick service.

I love the fact I can split up my payment so it doesn't feel like i'm going way overboard and helps balance out my budget :)

The robe is beautiful but didn't have two key features that every robe should have....a loop to hang it from and pockets. When I bought it I didn't even think to look for those two things expecting that any quality robe would have those two things....wrong!

Shipping was fast…The Robe is beautiful but I’m not sure I would order another. The material is just O.K…the color and pattern is beautiful but the stitching is really bad. Why put out the effort to make a masterpiece and then stitch it like a Walmart garment? I’m so disappointed…this was a expensive splurge for myself and I’m really exhausted over top dollar pricing for mediocre products. To much money for what it is:(
