I like the flexibility, I like the friendships formed with the members, but I dislike that I only get for mileage while I drive with the member. My work is limited because a lot of members live too far and I won't pick up the visit, because I'll use too much gas to get to the visit. I'm upset that we cannot provide transport to medical appointments. The app has a lot of issues and finally the PAY NEEDS TO BE INCREASED. Also if someone urinated in your front vehicle seat, we dont get compensated.

I had a papa pal come twice and she was good but she was not doing much but rushing through simple jobs, loafing the dishwasher and mopping the floor. I watched her and the way she was working. I have scheduled for 2 hours because I needed the work to be done probably. I was not happy I ended up reloading my dishwasher and drying up my floor because it’s was still wet after she left. That was not the worse part. She started getting comfortable on the couch and was starting to tell me about other clients she’s been to and how bad their places are and all. I was uncomfortable with that. I don’t want people to talk about other clients because that should be confidential. I reported it to papa pal’s office and asked that I do not want her to be a pal or signed up for me.
I scheduled another one for 7/11, this pal called at 9:30pm Thursday night to introduced herself. No only was too late for that call but the voice in the other side of the phone was very much like much older person than both me and my husband. I politely asked her of her age, sure enough she was 73years old. That was very concerning and sad. I wasn’t going to let an older lady, sounded very tired to come and help us with housework just because I needed help either my Alzeimers husband and also I broke my shoulder and needed help. I kindly explained to her my reason why I was going to cancel the visit. I contacted papa pal and talked to them about canceling the visit.
I told them please, nothing against people over 70 but I would not have anyone 70 or older as a pal especially when I specifically asked for help with light housework and transportation. They might be good for companionship but not for cleaning,
To me, it’s For safety reasons, my own personal opinion.

I had been using POPA for approximately three years. I was always satisfied and try to be courteous. My neighborhood is not the best but I keep my home very clean. One employee said it looked like no one lives in my house. The young man who took and picked me up for cataract surgery was very kind and I was very nervous. I am 71 and realize seniors can be a bit much at times.I had been sole caretaker for my 101 year old mother for years and along with chemo at the same time so yes I was a jittery client at first. I always gave good reviews.I was in disbelief at my last appointment.I have only ever used POPA for medical transportation. The last guy was very nice and I asked if he could come again. He said I could request it. So I called at least a week ahead of appointment. Well several days before I called and they said he was sick and hey were working on it.This appoint required someone bring me into office and stay throug procedure. A cortisone shot. Afterwards I was fine and required no assistance afterwards. Mad because two days before procedure I called and they said they were working on ride.Day before they told me they had no one and could they send an Uber which would have been fine with me but state law requires someone be attendance when any procedures like this are done. Night before I had no one and so I contacted a friend.I was in the office at 8AM and at 8:15 AM received a call that no ride availability. I had scheduled this appointment one month ago and absolutely needed to be there. I was left hanging. When I called back the person I talked to was very callous. All the other times good service but this was very important and I was left holding the bag. I don’t think I want their services any longer. A few people were wonderful but this upset me badly. So I hope I never need them again.
I’m so glad I found Papa! It’s a great way to make some extra money when you have time to do so. The flexibility and being able to help people in need while developing good relationships with clients is what makes this job so awesome.

Phenomenal experience. My members are great people whom build trust, relationship with. I listen to their concerns and provide improvements or solutions. Great company to work for. They ensure my safety and improve on services and scheduling to meet my needs and the needs of their clients.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The work being done to help people in need is beautiful and fulfilling, however, the customer service is abhorrent. I’ve been in a back and forth with them for over a week because they don’t want to reimburse me for the tolls I’ve paid in order to complete the visits. If you live in an area where you have to take toll roads, i would be very weary of taking those visits. I’ve spent more on tolls going to and from visits, than I made from the visits. When you call them out on this, they simply close out the request with no further word. Very disappointed that I will no longer be able to take visits outside of my city, and the connections that I made with clients will be lost. Such a shame.
papa Pal has opened a door of care ministry in overall relationship with various age of people who need assistance. Since the pandemic, I had been looking for a second job and thank God, I found one that is catering to me, and I can cater to other.

I really enjoyed working with my Papa member today. We had a lovely conversation. She was so very grateful for the help with cleaning and making sure that I took the time to make sure that there was no falling or tripping hazards. She was so happy to spend a few hours with someone that really showed that they care about her and her safety.

I liked talking with the woman with whom I was there for companionship and house tasks for. I found out we had the same hobbies. We both love singing, card games and reading. I vacuumed the house which gave me my meditation time and exercise. It helped my mind and body and I also helped someone else in the process. What is better than that?!

Lots of disorganization with this service. I was sent on several timed appts that had already been covered by someone else that they had contacted. Company never notified me after I had committed. Waste of my time and gas with no reimbursement. They do not pay mileage to the clients home, which can really add up. You will only be reimbursed if you take them from their home to an appt and back home. The other issue I have is the service that you are to provide may be for say, light housekeeping. Some clients will book misuse the term “light” housekeeping and require very physical tasks. I recently went to a new client and she was 100% physically able to do housework, and did. It was fall and she was moving in the spring. This was a very large house. She wanted floors steam cleaned, 3 bathrooms completely cleaned, I mean on hands and knees on the floor scrubbing, vacuuming all stairs and carpeting throughout house, dusting each room, and much more. She booked for 1.5 hours and she was relentless, right behind me watching if I missed a spot. This, I felt, was NOT light housework and it was not set up appropriately. I feel that many use it as a maid service and that is not what the service is meant for.
