i ordered an item online to collect at my local store in Ramsgate. initially the payment was not accepted and was asked to try again which I did and payment went through. When I went to collect my item there were two! I explained what happened and requested a refund. After several phone calls and broken promises of a call back and after being passed from pillar to post I was eventually given the Customer Service number who said to contact my bank. I disagreed with this and after further discussion I was told my refund would be sent. I have received my refund today.This process took just over 4 weeks! I will not be using the online service again.

Edit - to their credit, Jewson did contact me after I posted on here, and gave me a refund. So amending my review here to reflect that. Thank you, Jewson Leicester.

Drove 160 mile round trip to Leicester to pick up doorframe for customer as size not available at local store. This branch were obviously out of stock too, so rather than saying so just gave me a random size instead. By the time customer tried to install and noticed, 3 days too late to return.

Bunch of dishonest twits. First and last time I use this company.

Went to Jewsons to buy a screw driver, screws and WD40. My wife and I were staying in our static caravan in Aberaeron South Wales. I needed to refit a gate going onto our caravan decking area. I had brought the gate with me to Jewsons. I had struggled to remove the metal hinges from the gate. Not only did Mr Tom Mumford, the Manager of Jewsons, sell me the bits and pieces I needed, he removed the old hinges and fitted the new ones. This was over and above any thing I expected. Mr Mumford understood the situation I was in and the difficulties I had encountered removing corroded screws etc. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Mumford and would certainly recommend Jewsons of Aberaeron to my family, friends and anyone else reading this review. 5 Star Treatment !

A skip lorry hired by my roofers, through Jewsons, knocked down my front garden wall last October. It was properly and politely reported to us and to the company by the driver, with photos and our contact details, but no-one then made any contact with me.

I had to search to discover their exact name/address details online (ETM Recycling, Bristol) and phone to demand repairs. It still took some time to connect with the right manager by email but they did NOTHING except delay and prevaricate.

Eventually, I got a local builder to repair the wall and sent them the bill, but they made no effort at all to help, insisted on photographic evidence, and in total it has taken nearly 6 months to complete the repair and get reimbursement.

They paid my builder's invoice eventually today, but have not offered any recompense for all the work and effort I had to put in myself, to clean up the damage after them, and to arrange the repairs myself, nor for the long period of living behind an unsightly collapsed front wall.

I have a long string of email correspondence from Nov 23 to March 24 which demonstrates their attitude throughout.

ETM Recycling, Bristol, deserve NEGATIVE stars- do not use them, even if suggested by Jewsons!

Went to hire a braker gave me the option to collect at local store….then turns out local store don’t do hire (even though it was an option online!?) so I have to just have it delivered instead a pain but no biggy gives me the opportunity to get it delivered tomorrow. Few hours later I am told they ain’t delivering this week (once again why have this week as an option to have delivery ?!). Never will I be going to Jewsons again. Very poor service from start to finish.

Ordered one box of vinyl flooring online, on Saturday, with only stock available in Rutherglen depot available for collection at 7.45am on the Monday. I got a telephone call on Monday at 3.30 from Rutherglen depot to say sorry there was a glitch in the system and they did not have this in stock. They agreed to refund my card. I then got a text message on Tuesday to say my order was ready for collection from Rutherglen. I called them and they said 9 boxes arrived yesterday but for another customer. They also told me I would have to contact the website myself to request a refund. However the email I received with my order confirmation is a "no reply" address. I will now have to take this up with my credit card company to chase my refund. If I could rate zero I would.

Clearway Pest Control Services often need quality materials for our pest proofing work and Jewson have got the lot!

Do not go to Jewsons if you do not have an account. Their prices are nearly twice what you would pay elsewhere eg Wickes, Shields in Tavistock etc having just compared my latest purchases.

I normally do not do reviews, however this time I'm so impressed, that I really feel obliged and would like to let other people know. For the past year I've been establishing my new business from scratch in Swanscombe. I was building facilities and cafe for my customers from ground up. At the beginning I tried various, well known building materials suppliers and every single one I've approached was an utter let down and disappointment, until I walked in to Jewsons in Dartford. This review is not about the quality of materials or prices, which are good enough for my needs, this is about people who work there. I've never been in Dartford branch before. Warm welcome from the doorway, wealth of knowledge and expert advice and really caring attitude from every single member of the team. They went above and beyond of any of my expectations. I'm no special, they just made me feel like one! Priceless! David, Sue, all lads in the shop and yard - I'm very grateful for your support throughout! Please, keep up the good work and in my next project your branch will be my only point of contact.

I closed my account if 40 years last month. Now I see I was right.

I have seen the Jewson reply.
After my review I complained to Jewson and their reply was.
" That's the price we cannot support you." Guess that means cannot help me.
I have now bought the timber and my opinion is that Jewson are greedy and overpriced beyond reason.

Jewson's delivered to a neighbouring property on 10th January. When leaving they damaged our large established hedge. We reported the damage and a MSN visited from the store, confirming that it was caused by Jewson. Despite many attempts at chasing and being fobbed off with an insurance claim number, we've heard nothing. I would avoid deliveries from Jewson where possible, as it seems reading the reviews, we're not the only ones experiencing this problem!

But I bought a roll of "Hippo" masking tape - the worst masking tape I have ever purchased in my life.
Virtually no glue whatsoever - it could just as well be paper strip.!!
In future I will go to a local merchant for all my stuff, where masking tape (just as an example) is HALF THE PRICE and VASTLY SUPERIOR QUALITY.

Asked about tool hire and was put through to Dave, who was totally inappropriate with me just because I don’t have a penis (I am a 56 year old hetero female). Have emailed customer service about this and was promised a reply within 48 hours. That was two weeks ago and still no reply. Very unimpressed. And the prices were outrageous. Borrowed the ladders/platforms I needed off neighbours, and was pleased to gift them wine and chocolates as a thank you, rather than bolster Jewson profits

I went to my local Jewson’s to get some 47x 125mm treated timber and was charged £4.58 per metre! I complained and was told this was a trade price! I had a roof open so had no choice but to pay this. I have since checked with other builders merchants and Jewson’s are more than double the price. Avoid them at all costs if you need building materials.

I would like to say a great thanks to Luke at Winchester branch.
Very knowledgeable and understanding of the product that we need and a great help. We will be happy to use Jewsons again. As long as there's people like luke. thanks again luke for your all your help. Darren

Called into St James northampton branch today and was served by Gareth. Very friendly, helpful and a credit to the company.

This company bumped into my car while making a delivery, the manager came out to look at my car which he wouldn't have bothered to do unless the driver admitted it, but since he investigated and realised there was no CCTV or proof he decided the company wasn't going to pay for the damage to my car! What an honest company, don't go near them with a bargepole!
Pretended to investigate but I knew they would cover for their driver, what a disgraceful company, don't use them they are the pitts!

Jewson Whiteparish Depot - very helpful, polite and understanding. Service with a smile.
