I created an account and was directed to join the Albatross membership of either: 3, 6 or 12 months.
There was no option for me to use the free basic membership to see how the concept worked. I was unable to create a profile yet. I received an email confirmation and I clicked the link to verify and it lead it straight into the membership options. Not a fan of this website. Quite on the sneaky scam tactic if you ask me.
No oversite on these groups or who creates these groups. People in groups can write anything on group chat about anyone and is allowed by InterNations. Even in groups that this person never interacted with. When reported the admins can't be bother to look into any issues and let these posters run wild.
THE responses to the negative comments are more telling than the comments themselves.

InterNations is a great community that brings together expats from all over the world with different backgrounds and cultures. I have met here, online and in person, many fabulous people and made wonderful friendships. We share our perspectives, learn from each other and laugh. I would recommend InterNations to anyone (ever) living abroad. I’m genuinely grateful for InterNations.

As a Basic, you have to give an email address to join the Community.
As an Albatross, any sales terms written on their site. The Community Support give a rate per country and per person. Bad pricing and no knowledge in marketing and sales.
As a Consul, you have to be without any experience organizing activities, like that the Community support can manage your actions. if you go more than that, the Community Support limite your passions to avoid give less importance to the old Ambassadors who never update their events, never share passions with other people (againts InterNations Motto) and think only in their own profit, because normally these people who hosts events, do not have a real work or they are searching for a job out of this platform.
As an Ambassador, if you do well the Community Support do not like and if it is too perfect you are fired (paradox) . The Community Support prefer to manage you all the time to avoid being better than them. Many complaints from members about the bad pricing on the site, that I had to decline to them because I was only volunteer.
I organized a lot of activities and events for passion out my real job. But I feel upset that my passion and my free time were used to give money to the Head Office based in Munich that use Consuls and Ambassadors as a volunteer to earn money. But the worst, with Christoph Markert who does not know anything in France and his leadership is a little poor... Hope that the staff will be soon like before !
I completely forgot to cancel my free trial and the same day I contacted them to please cancel my 12 months renewal since I am in a bad state economically.
They showed no empathy and understanding and kept insisting that it was my fault, which it is, but I was asking to see if they could do an expection. But impossible. Poor cusomer service.

I contacted the INTERNATIONALS support team and they responded to me quickly, asked for time to solve the problem, and finally solved my problem.
I can log in to my account again.
