Plenty of handy easily accessible…

Plenty of handy easily accessible locations. A big bonus is the rate reductions after 8PM.

App not working, wouldn't charge

I put 20 credit on the instavolt app and it still wouldn't let me charge. So I had to use my contactless card and not benefit from the off-peak rate to 54 pence in porthleven, Cornwall
Had to pay 87p. Despite it being after 8:00 in the evening when it's supposed to be 54p

Unworthy to download

I have tried with the app in both liverpool and London but didn't get and best. It kept me waiting till I fed up. I have called the customer service however that was not useful . On the end it was time wasting.

I paid 45 pounds for ten minutes

I paid 45 pounds for ten minutes. only got from 7% to 33%. then the charger malfunction. I now have to wait five to ten days to get my money back. This is not what hard working people bargain for. much to expensive for this type of service.

Please may you provide us with your email address so we can check the charging session and confirm the charger is working as it should? We have sent you a request for this through Trustpilot.

Just to clarify, the £45 you saw taken was a pre-authorisation hold. This is not a charge for ten minutes of use, but a temporary amount reserved by your bank to validate your payment card. The actual cost of the electricity you used will replace this amount, and any difference will be released back to you automatically, usually within 5–10 working days depending on your bank.

We completely understand how frustrating this can feel, and we’d like to make sure everything is working correctly for you, please do share your details with us so we can investigate further.

Have I missing something or do you have to input your card details in the app every time?
How long does it take to pay back?

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are glad to hear you found the unit easily and that the charger worked well.

When you set up the app you can choose between a pre-payment account, where you add funds to your wallet in advance, or a credit account, where your saved payment card is billed automatically later that day or the next working day.

Please note that when you first add a card to a credit account a £20 validation amount is taken, but this isn’t a fee, it is added to your app balance and can be used for charging or withdrawn back to your bank. You won’t need to enter your card details each time.

Poor process

22/8 Financial charging process is unclear and very slow. Immediate taking of deposit but unable to process what charge has actually been used in a timely manner. Also, the getting of a receipt at charging point is unclear. Added charge nearly an hour ago and no idea what it cost. No details with my bank yet and not able to get receipt. Poor customer experience.

Now some 8 hours or so later, still no confirmation of charge amount. 🤔

24/8 - 48 hours gone now and still no detail. Perhaps it was free?

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we do apologise for your experience. We completely understand how frustrating it must be not to see your charging costs and receipts clearly.

When using our chargers, a pre-authorisation deposit of £45 is taken to ensure there are sufficient funds available. Once the charging session is completed, the final amount is confirmed and the unused portion of the deposit is released back to your bank. Depending on your bank, this can sometimes take up to 5-10 working days to appear clearly on your statement, which may explain the delay you’ve experienced.

When paying by card, receipts are not issued automatically at the charger. To obtain one, you can either use our online receipt generator or email our team at info@instavolt.co.uk with your session details, and we’ll be happy to provide it for you.

If you use the InstaVolt app to start your charges instead, all of your session receipts are stored automatically within the app for easy access.

We understand how important it is to have clarity on payments, and we’re continually working to make the process as smooth and transparent as possible. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at info@instavolt.co.uk so we can provide the receipt for your recent session.

I wish you would include a route…

I wish you would include a route planner in your app. If you have then I am sorry but at the moment I am constantly swapping between Google maps, Waze and the electro verse app

I struggled to start the charge with my…

I struggled to start the charge with my app so used a card.
When the charge was complete I tried to get a VAT receipt via the Receipt Generator and then by phone and lastly by email which proved impossible.

Unfortunately TrustPilot don't let me give more than 5 stars.

Really happy with the charging experience.

I rock up in my EV and park.
I pop the charging cable into my EV.
I go to the app.
Select the Charger.
Press and hold Charge
App / charger authorises.

My EV gets electric and InstaVolt get money.

To date I've used InstaVolt into double figures and have not had any issues. Would like to see prices come down though.

InstaVolt is my "on the go" charger of choice.
