Awful service - invalidate warranties too

Awful service 5 months on still battling to get previously agreed repairs completed. These policies are not worth the paper they are written on & the policies sold do not account for work being done by Kia approved repairers thus invalidating any warranty.

Heard this is a good site but been unable to get a quote as there doesn’t seem to be a way of getting a quote started on the website. Three of us have tried on different devices so it’s not us.

The worst insurance company I have ever…

The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. If you get into an accident where the other driver is clearly at fault. You’ll be blamed if you’re a new or relatively new driver. If you have opted to have the legal cover, they will refuse and ask you if you’d like to take the issue to court, you can pay and represent yourself. Nothing but problems with this company, the boxes they use are also problematic as they had left me stranded on 3 different occasions as they intermittently had cut all power from my car on one occasion and drained all the power from my car on the other two occasions. Genuinely nothing is good from these guys so I’d save yourself the headache and find any other company, even if they’re a little extra money, save yourself the time and hassle and enjoy your driving experience rather than being manipulated by an awful company like ingenie.

Nothing but problems with the claim…

Nothing but problems with the claim under my son's Ingenie policy - which isnt actually Ingenie as they are just a broker for Pukka Insurance.
Then Pukka Insurance do not actually manage the claim - thats done by Action 365.
It is impossible to get to speak to anyone as you get passed from pillar to post - no managers are ever available to complain to. They dont phone back when they say they will.
When you phone the Claims number you are put on hold for nearly 2 hours then get cut off.
I definitely would not recommend Ingenie as you will have nothing but problems trying to sort your claim out - isnt that the job they are paid to do !!!

KEEP AWAY

They are cowboys I had a black box insurance they cancelled my insurance in last week due to black box. Driving no different to how I always had.money robbing terruble customer service don’t go near.

Drive well, get discounts!

Had a black box with Ingenie for a year and have no complaints. Did a lot of night driving but this didn’t negatively impact my score, as I was assessed on the quality of my driving. I also got discounts every quarter based on how well I’d been driving. As a new driver the regular feedback assessing how I drive was helpful. A shame I couldn’t renew for another year, but I highly recommend them.

I found this company absolutely…

I found this company absolutely dreadful I had a black box for roughly 6 months before I received an email telling me to remove the box and send it back to them because of my good driving. Then , after I did as I was asked I received an email stating that my insurance would be cancelled due to breaching a contract . Then after a lot of anguish and many emails and phone calls I was forced to have a fitted wired in box . The problems went on for weeks with no reply for 4 days at one point . I had no real apology for this and never received any thing for all these problems ! Never use this incompetent company ! Please !!!

I would not recommend this company…

I would not recommend this company after cancelling my insurance I had a debt collection agency request £240 for me three months later. This makes absolutely no sense as my insurance was only about £80 a month and I was all up-to-date with payments. I had no explanation of this money that I so say owed, just had a letter telling me I hadn’t paid it and it was going to be sent straight to Debt collection! No prior request of the money. This is so unprofessional! You should not treat people like this, it may seem minor but it affects peoples mental health a lot.

Good customer service, cheapest quote for comprehensive, some important feedback

I got a quote from Ingenie and they came out as the cheapest. I didn't necessarily want a box because I was overly stressed about the box being strict, disruptive and possibly getting my insurance cancelled but after some reassurance hearing that Ingenie has some leniency and no curfew for driving at night, I was a lot more relieved and safe to say, as long as you're not driving like an absolute melon and driving moderately, they are actually quite lenient and good with it.
They couldn't care less what time you drive at and despite having had lots of melons cause me to brake harshly and take evasive action, I've still gotten decent reports back for the most part, same with cornering although it can be quite sensitive so I would recommend taking corners steady.
Acceleration is fine as well although they aren't too happy with you exceeding the speed limit by over 15-20mph but it seems that they'll only give you a dangerous message if you're doing well above the speed limit and consistently doing so to the point where if Mr Plod catches you, you'll lose your licence anyway. Nonetheless I am not trying to encourage speeding and am simply stating how Ingenie deals with speed because for a telematics company, they're quite sensible. I hear a lot of people saying their telematics causes a headache for them just doing 1mph over. I think Ingenie knows that people will almost certainly exceed the speed limit to an extent and are fine as long as you're not being silly with it.

Their customer service is very good and friendly, certainly helpful as well. It was very easy to plug the box in and they helped to confirm that the box was plugged in as well. They were also straightforward and helpful when it came to adding more miles to my quote even though it was quite pricey.

And here I have several issues with Ingenie; one thing that disappointed me was them axing their monthly discounts not that long ago; they were still the cheapest quote for me regardless but I just think it was something that made Ingenie stand out.
Another problem that I have is that they don't allow modifications at all and seem to be dead strict on it so I'm not sure if I will be with Ingenie next year unfortunately as I would like to retain my Focus and do some work upon it after I gain more experience and although they have certainly started off well for me, I've heard of people saying that even spray painted rims and tinted windows cause headaches for them which I find to be a big push away so unless I can entice myself enough because of a good renewal quote or sticking to stock, it might be difficult for me moving forwards. Another thing I'm not the biggest fan of is them not providing much at all for driving abroad, it only covers third party for 14 days so I find that a bit disappointing, I would ideally like to have more time and fully comprehensive insurance because it would be great to drive to other places in Europe moving forwards, as well as have that time and protection.

Overall however I am satisfied with Ingenie so far, I know some people may be iffy with going for a box and I certainly felt that way at the beginning but what I will say for Ingenie at the very least is that their box isn't that bad if you drive moderately and it does give you leeway for quite a few mistakes and mess-ups.

If you're fine with a box and it's going to save you racks then you should at least consider it. I have a bit of experience with the company having been with them for half a year now and the experience has generally been pretty fine, I can drive around safely insured and although I have certain troubling matters with a few of the company's lack of luxuries, a humble 4-star is very fair.

Hopefully after I get my first NCD, I will come back to this review and reflect on whether I had a good experience or not because so far, I'm pretty satisfied.

No...Simply No!

I feel the company are not informative enough and although happy to accept payments they are not easily available once this is happened. Once you do get through to someone they are only happy to send you to yet another department or person. seems no one can just be helpful or complete a task, even by email they then send back a request for you to do something else on your account as they do not. They have passed on incorrect info to 3rd parties causing many problems for myself which they did not want to help to rectify and due to this is now a lengthy process for me and ongoing issues. I will never use this company or anyone affiliated

Great service and friendly to deal with.

We have insurance and black box (which was easily fitted) and pretty straight forward to use.

We have been getting regular feedback and today i queried a speed issue.

They gave me the time, the speed limit and the speed the car was going. Now i understand the road and the limit i can address with my son

Sham of a company!!!

My son has has his insurance with this sham of a company. He had an engineer fit black box. He bought a new car and needed a new black box. Back in July we moved home address updated! Trak m8 have sent the black box to our old address but the insurance is at our new address!!
I have had several conversations and back and forth emails of reassurance that his insurance will not be cancelled because of YOUR error and several threatening emails.
Today I receive an email that his insurance is being cancelled due to him not fitting the black box that he has not received!!
AVOID THIS COMPANY AND DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR CHILD TO HAVE THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY INSURE THEIR CARS!!!

Had an issue with the driving app contacted ingenie customer services and was sorted within minutes never had an issue with them apart from the app which was easily sorted, good insurance company and great customer service by Megan.

To be honest I am not sure why people…

To be honest I am not sure why people give this insurance company this bad reviews. First of all I want to say thank you to Megan who always was helping in a very fast and professional manner :)
About the company. I have used Ingenie an year now, and I have chosen them because I held my UK driving license just a month before I wanted to insure my car. All other insurance companies were rejecting me or of course giving a huuuge price. Just Ingenie was the one who provided a decent price, and I have taken them, and never thought that is a mistake.
At the start is a bit difficult to drive knowing that somebody is watching, but I would say is not a problem at all, I can surely say that because of them I have improved my driving skills. In one year with Ingenie I have received 3 payments back because was driving well so my insurance costed me even less.
What can I say, if you are new and you are Ok paying a fortune just not to have a back box then go for it, if you are like me and you are Ok having a box, save some money and also learning a bit of driving then use Ingenie. Support team is amazing as I said and many times I came to them, every single time they helped in the same professional manner, what else do you need for a happy life...

Would recommend

Although the journey has had a few bumps along the way (my black box wasn’t recording properly), I have found Ingenie to be easy to contact and deal with especially Megan in Customer Services. I would recommend them to anyone.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. I got my first year of insurance with them, they charged my 500 quid to add more miles and the 500 quid to change my address. I understand I was 17 when I passed my test, but in the end they charged my £3000 for my car insurance. Where they think a 17 year old is going to get 3 grand I have no clue. Don't go with them, they are awful. I would leave 0 stars but I can't:).

Absolute worst insurance company…

Absolute worst insurance company without a doubt. Do not waste your time by getting insured by these clowns. My fiancée needed to speak with them about getting her car fixed. 4 weeks she spent trying to get through to them. They don’t reply to emails, calls. And then after a month she goes in a live chat and they say they’ve settled her claim and to take her car to a garage.. absolute shambles of a company. 1 star review is being generous because I can’t click anything lower!

Do not recommend the company

Have been in Ingenie for couple of months. At the start really enjoyed it, the app feedback process works good, tried to hit my targets to achieve discounts.

However, l had a black box, l needed to add extra mileage to my insurance, which costs a lot, not even the mileage, just the process of making a change in the policy.

Recently l bought a new car, tried to phone them to get a new insurance quote, the customer service is terrible, transfers you to an online chat. An online agent have said they can’t offer me anything on my new car. They still told me l need to pay cancellation fee, when it’s them that cancel my insurance. Then they said to me l will get a money refund for my black box, which was the same amount, as the cancellation fee. After the conversation l have received email with my chat history sayings “NON refundable black box” l phoned them to pay the fee, l have heard that the agent made an mistake, l am not eligible for an refund.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SHAM COMPANY!!!

I was a first time driver when I took out my policy with ingenie…. They have caused so many issues!!!! It feels like every couple of weeks there asking for more and more money. Threatening emails if you don’t buy more miles!!! After this happening several times my insurance was nearing £200 a month! Which is an absolute joke! The ‘staff’ haven’t got two brain cells to rub together! What company doesn’t have a phone number??? Everything is done on a web chat… they close the chat on you if you ask a question they don’t know or don’t want to deal with. I have cancelled my insurance with them 8 months in… now having to start again on my first years No claims because of there incompetence.

Now after I’ve written this review im gunna get a pathetic comment back telling me to email them and asking how they can help. Well…. Ingenie do yourself a favour and don’t waste your time reply to this! I have NO intention of ever speaking to you again!! I would how ever just like to inform you we own a very well know Driving school and I will be making a point to tell each pupil to not so much as waste there time looking at your logo!

At the start of a policy we ask you to declare how many miles you think you will drive in a year and discounts are applied to the policy based on this low mileage. If you go over the declared mileage we will of course ask you buy more miles and in some cases you may lose the low mileage discount.
