I picked up this desktop gaming PC on a President’s Day deal that was too good to pass up. The specs are fantastic, and once everything was up and running, it performed exactly as I’d hoped—smooth, fast, and powerful. However, I have to dock a star because of the frustrating setup process.

After installing a 5080 GPU as instructed, I kept encountering the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) repeatedly. I ran through all possible diagnostics but after 10+ crashes and forced restarts, I finally gave in and called customer support.

The first call was a disaster—I waited 15 minutes only to get someone who apparently couldn’t operate a phone properly and kept saying "hello, hello, hello?" before hanging up. I had to call back and wait another 20 minutes before finally getting Alex, who was helpful but dropped a bombshell: there was a KNOWN firmware issue with the Western Digital SSD and the latest Windows update.

So, let me get this straight—this is a known issue, and yet there was no notice, no email, no warning? The manufacturer knows exactly what components are installed, so why not preemptively inform customers or, better yet, fix the issue before shipping? Instead, I wasted time troubleshooting, then more time waiting for tech support, just to be told it was a simple update. This could have been avoided with better quality control and proactive communication.

Once I updated the firmware, the PC worked flawlessly, but this kind of oversight shouldn’t happen. A high-performance gaming rig should be ready to go out of the box, not require customers to deal with firmware bugs right from the start.

Runs modern games smoothly

❌ Cons:

Out-of-the-box issues that should have been caught in QC
Lack of communication on known problems
Customer support wait times and initial poor experience

Overall, I like the system, but the initial hassle left a sour taste. If you’re not tech-savvy or patient enough for troubleshooting, be warned. Manufacturers need to do better when it comes to quality control and transparency with their customers.

This was my first experience with iBuyPower and one of their computers... and it has been FANTASTIC so far! I absolutely love my new computer and the support that helped me along the way was so helpful and kind. I did a custom build and it came perfectly, everything was how it should've been & it was packaged very securely. I would recommend this brand to anyone who is interested in getting a new computer!

I have purchased multiple mechs over the years from iBUYPOWER and have always been pleased. Firstly, their price is always competitive with most custom PC builders online and the custom builds are easy to assemble from the website. Secondly, their systems are always built extremely well. Thirdly, their customer service is excellent. I just recently (2/2025) bought a new system and reached out to their customer service about changing the billing and it was super easy. I also called for tech support about a video card install and they were easy to contact and easy to work with.

Bought my first Gaming Laptop, Came with no operating system which was disappointing and had to file for RMA to get it looked at and I did everything to try recover the operating system abd even try installing window 11 but had no luck, They claimed to have tested before sending out the gaming laptop but they obviously did not, Sent the laptop back and i would check if there was any progress on RMA but nothing no action until this day but out of no where the laptop was delivered back to me and magically has a operating system. I say wouldnt plan on buying from this company in the future for how their tech staff and communications work and just unsatisfy about how everything came to be.

My pc runs amazing and it manages to run everything I throw at it its just over all an amazing pc but not onky that i got a free mouse and keyboard like who doesn’t like free stuff?
