Awful service.

Awful service.

I have had my account in HSBC France for 2 years now. During these 2 years bank managed to lose my papers twice. The first time - it was some loan papers, so it took 1 month to find them. The second time it was a new PIN code for a card, it took 1 week to reissue the new card and 3 weeks to issue a PIN code. If it would have been my only bank and account I'd have had some real troubles. Managers are responsive, but the information they provide is unreliable. For example, the bank forgot to change my address after a valid and proper notification, so that's how they lost my PIN code. And there are many other fascinating stories. The security system is just unusable crap, and if you forgot the answer "what is your favorite city" - you are screwed. Literally, if you have any other option, do not go to HSBC.

This has got to be the worst bank ever

This has got to be the worst bank ever. Customer care absolute rubbish, lightning quick to levy unnecessary charges. I have had a horrible three years with them. Finally had it and moving banks.
If I could give a zero star, I would.
Moving countries, I left Santander bank. Now I know how amazing the service is at Santander. If they had a branch in France, I will move there in half a heartbeat.

big fail

started the process of account opening online...all well up to step 4/4
Had a call with one of their agents...all fine

then a get an email, application declined. Ok, that's their choice. But why the f*%$ is this bank refusing to tell why. They are not even responding to a request for explanation.
But they may be able to help in the future... well i can tell you, there's no future for hsbc and me. I was willing to move all to this bank if it performed well..big fail

Should have quite way earlier, huge fees, no service, didn’t attend my loan request (no show for the scheduled meeting)

Not possible to do worse, run away from them

(By the way HSBC holding is not controlling anymore HSBC in France)

HSBC NO GO

From reading the comments of customers, I don't feel alone! I used to have an HSBC account in Canada - no particular comment. When moving to France, I inquired whether HSBC could introduce me to their French counterparts - I did get a contact.... who only replied to my 1 email and numerous calls after 3 weeks. By that time, I had already opened an account with an other bank.
Unfortunately, I have to deal with HSBC for a not-for-profit organisation which (really poorly) chose to work with them. I knew HSBC would not be adapted for such type of business - but accepted the legacy I inherited. After dealing with them for the last 5 years though, I still can't believe I am accepting their close to "non service", horrendous charges and then pitiful "commercial gesture"response which is basically saying "go look somewhere else".

Quite possibly the worst retail banking…

Quite possibly the worst retail banking experience ever.

Having been with Premier in the UK for 15 years, we hoped for a broadly similar experience with the French version.

HSBC France are beyond incompetent, quite useless and can’t get even the basics right. Cards take forever to arrive, the « advisers » ask you for endless documents - I was asked to provide bank account statements from my HSBC France account once (yes, really…).

No wonder HSBC is selling this dumpster fire operation to PE… surprised someone bought it.

We closed all our accounts and fled to a much better French bank after 3 months.

Stay well clear!

Worst bank I have ever seen

Worst bank I have ever seen
To open an account they ask for a lot of documents with generic names and without a clear explanation of which type of documents are.
The customer service is horrible because none know nothing and the "standard" reply is: "we will recall you in 48h".
I'm waiting for a call from 1 month at least.
A person called "Oceane DEUDON" after 3 weeks I was trying to open an account write me an email saying that I have to upload lasts documents on the website and the only reply to my request of explanation about some documents is textual words: "Please upload it your document from the site".
A stone would have been more helpful than her.

HSBC France of very bad customer…

HSBC France offers very bad customer service and provided me with misleading information. I clearly recommend against opening an account.
Before setting up the account, an Hsbc client relationship manager provided me with wrong information, in order to convince me to open an account at the bank. After I opened the account, it became evident that the information he provided me with was wrong and HSBC has taken no effort to resolve the issue. Instead, they simply do not respond.

Getting a working debit card is impossible apparently

Im a customer of HSBC UK which is wonderful. Recently moved to France and thought, oh I'll obviously go with HSBC France since theyre my UK bank too. Not a good idea :/
I've been in France now for over a month and still cant even use my debit card. They delayed sending it, I had problems changing my address from UK to French and during all this my advisor that I'm paying 3euros a month for went on holiday! And no one was there to replace her! I didn't get told she was going on holiday, I didn't have someone else take over her role or anything. I would email her and just get no response, meanwhile I'm having to pay loads of tax and currency exchange rate on my UK debit card paying for stuff. Finally I got my debit card, but they didn't send me the pin! It's been a week, so I thought, it's definitely lost, as the pin is supposed to arrive 48 hours after the card. So I call to get my pin sent and the 'replacement' pin costs 9euros.... even though I didn't get the first one in the first place. I paid it so lets see if this pin even arrives. I'll change bank if they keep messing me around like this I'm actually bored.

Problems closing Premier Account

In fairness, whilst i was living and working in France everything was ok.

Now that I have moved back to UK and I want to close my account it has been a nightmare. Taken about 4 weeks so far... promises made and broken. Asked for same information 4 times now...

Started a complaint - not holding my breath...

If your looking to open a French bank…

If your looking to open a French bank account take my advice DO NOT USE HSBC - customer service is appalling, I have had several meetings set up where they were meant to call me to discuss my account and they never do, also if you send them a message they never, never reply.

The online service is very poor

The online service is very poor, sometimes it would not let me log on to my account, claiming that I have entered wrong password credentials. This is the fourth time in two years. It's a horrible bank

Hsbc France is simply the worst bank I…

Hsbc France is simply the worst bank I have ever used. Rude customer service staff, archaic banking system where transfers take 48 hours to be effected. I have been pleading with this nonsense bank to open a CHF account for me for months now and no response till now . This is truly a horrible banking experience, I hate this bank passionately especially for the rudeness of the customer service team. Sad to leave this review as the ground staff I have met at my branch are actually quite decent . However the people on the phone are rude and mean

Money Laundering Bank + High Fees + No Customer Service

HSBC is famous for its money laundering practices. From El Chapo to terrorist organizations, this bank is maintaining the top headlines on lawsuits against them. In addition to that, they act as the most elite bank and charge very heavy fees and have no customer service. They will push wealth management services onto you while mismanaging your money.

It doesn't get any worse

When trying to open an account online, we failed miserably. We even had personal contact with Agence Grasse, Mme Celine Fachin, by email and phone. Final comment from her: "You can look for another bank"

I asked HSBC nearly 4 months ago to close my life assurance account, so far nothing has happened. They have a complains procedure where they promise to acknowledge receipt of a claim within 48 hours and to sort it within 10 days. I wrote to them 20 days ago and have heard nothing. If you want to see your money again don't use this bank.
