I phoned three times and was handed from one person to the next . I wasted an hour in international calls. Frankly it is clear that phone banking is unwanted and no improvement in service will be forthcoming. I would suggest moving bank immediately to any bank but HSBC.
Absolutely amazing customer service
Absolutely amazing customer service! Staff was so knowledgeable and so friendly - specifically Martin Purnell! He helped me out with setting up a new global account and higher interest savings in less than 5 minutes. Really appreciate the help :)
Review Personal Finances…
Qur experience this morning with Chanshika a Universal Banker from the Camberley branch of HSBC was exemplary, so professional, she offered refreshments on arrival and gave us plenty of time to discuss our personal finances. Chan was very knowledgeable ,she explained everything in great detail and ensured we had a good understanding of the outcome
Bad telephone banking experience with HSBC BANK
I had to spend more than an hour on 2 different occasions, talking to an office in India, from my home in Spain. Trying to get some money transferred to my Spanish bank account. At the end of 3 different conversations, I was told I could not transfer my own money.
Very, very unhappy with the service and staff behaviour. Have been a customer of the bank for more than 25 years. Also, worked in Banking in London, where we always had to have a telephone answered.
I suggest the bank would be more popular if they were to employ a receptionist in each of their branches.

want everyone to see what HSBC is doing & continuing to do. After DELIBERATELY DESTROYING MY LIFE & HEALTH & leaving me AS A BED-RIDDEN CRIPPLE FOR LIFE AFTER TORTURING ME & MY SEVERE, INCURABLE HEAL
I want everyone to see what HSBC is doing & continuing to do. After DELIBERATELY DESTROYING MY LIFE & HEALTH & leaving me AS A BED-RIDDEN CRIPPLE FOR LIFE AFTER TORTURING ME & MY SEVERE, INCURABLE HEALTH PROBLEMS FOR MONTHS & MONTHS ON END TO SUICIDE & EARLY RETIREMENT DUE TO ILL HEALTH & TRAUMA - HSBC are continuing to abuse, lie, evade, obfuscate, belittle, mock & torture. HSBC know EXACTLY what they have done - & are trying to manoeuvre the conversation onto social media (where they immediately refuse to engage, causing further pain & trauma). You can expect to be hearing from the UK media if you have no already HSBC, as I have been in contact with them. My family members have been contacting HSBC as well - who are absolutely HELL BENT on CONTINUING THEIR SICK ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN OF IDEOLOGICAL & RACIAL DISCRIMINATION & FINANCIAL TERROR. These reviews will continue apace HSBC until you begin to account for what your organisation of bullies, Terrorists & psychos chose - & went out of their way to do to highly vulnerable people already suffering BEYOND BELIEF, as you were made fully aware. You evil, disgusting, Partisan CREEPS & SCUMBAGS
Worse bank on earth freeze accounts…
Worse bank on earth freeze accounts without even telling you its my main bank account left ne without any access to my own hard earned money moving banks as soon as this nonsense is all over dont bank with them
I am not able to order groceries online…
I am not able to order groceries online from Asda, called them and after making me wait 1 hour, they can't help me, and suggest the problem is with Asda. they offered me 15 minutes exception, which wouldn't help me with anything. I told them I need to shop online because I have health problems, but they can't help me. I hope I can finally change this bank these days, as they have been very rude in the branch too, and refuse to help me send £20 to a relative, saying that I have to do it online, which I wasn't able to at the moment. I am shocked by how unhelpful they can be.
Reliable and Secure Banking Experience
I’ve been with HSBC for 6 years, and it’s been a smooth ride. Even during my first year, when a fraudulent transaction occurred, the bank promptly helped me get a refund. Security measures can feel complex, but they clearly prioritize customer safety. Overall, a trustworthy and hassle-free banking experience.
HSBC are nothing short of criminals
HSBC are nothing short of criminals. They supposedly are going through their process of closing my account due to a check they say didn't clear. The check came from a trusted business, looks 100% legit, I have never had a returned item come back to this account not once since it's been opened. I am now told all my funds that were in the account are now being held hostage, interest free for HSBC and I can expect to wait months for my remaining funds to be mailed by Check. These are not people you want to trust to hold your funds, if they all the sudden feel like stealing your money, they won't hisitate to steal it. I have been on contact with an attorney and am planning to file a lawsuit with the courts this afternoon. We'll see if a jury agrees HSBC has the right to steal all your funds whenever they want to choose. I'm pretty sure they will side with me, the right side that doesn't steal from people. DO NOT BANK WITH HSBC IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN.
I cannot think of a worse bank
I cannot think of a worse bank. I wanted to check if I could get a loan, but the application didn’t clarify the interest rate I would be charged. Someone from HSBC called, but I couldn’t speak at the time so they said they would send me a phone number to call back. An hour later, I received a message saying there was no need to contact them.
When I called the bank today to decline the loan, the representative said that canceling it might negatively affect my credit record and hurt my chances of getting loans in the future. This is insane—I still wouldn’t even know the interest rate I would be paying. Essentially, you have to accept a loan blindly.
This is not my first negative experience with this bank. In the past, they mistakenly charged me £50. When I informed them, they charged me again instead of reimbursing the money. Additionally, when I moved abroad for a few years, they demanded I pay off my £80,000 mortgage within six months or sell the property or they would repossess it. I was paying my mortgage dutifully but they always have to push you in the corner to gain something.
While the employees themselves may be nice, they are working for an institution that repeatedly mishandles money and causes unnecessary stress. Avoid this bank at all costs—it is by far the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I am going to move my money to other bank as this one doesn’t deserve to handle it. They forgot I am the customer here. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Disputes dept useless….unclear instructions and difficult to contact and then understand
I had taken a car for MOT via AASmartcare payassit scheme…..but was charged all but £100 on the scheme and the remaining £800 came out directly from my account.
I immediately reported asking to stop payment…on the Thursday it wasn’t showing so too early and then Friday it was too late….today I find that the case is closed as I hadn’t given the information they asked for….a contract…..for a MOT and repairs???….i had called in at the branch having been told I didn’t need an appointment but I did and had to wait two hours….was told what to do …did it and now this….information not given…..totally useless….sick of banks using people in India who have no idea….i had been told I would get my money back and scheme then implemented but no…..it’s a disgrace….local branch was over 40 miles away…..banks are no longer interested in their customers
