Hard sell for warantees
Registering was fine but hard sell to take out more warranties which I felt inappropriate as already taken out with Currys. Attitude of person dealing with call changed dramatically when I refused. Customer service was positive until that point. Hence only giving 4 stars.
Annoying sales call
After I registered, there was a phone call from your provider ? ?D&G . The speaker was very persistent and wanted me to take up an accidental damage insurance even after I mentioned that I was busy. I had to cut her off!

I waited for ever for the phone to be answered with my card pen awaiting to pop a number onto the card as proof I had activated the 10 year parts guarantee.
I then answered various questions and had to listen to the ladies sales patter for what felt like 10 minutes and when she said so can I sign you up? I said no thankyou and she seemed taken aback and asked why? I said I don't like direct debits, and could I please have my reference number. The lady then said Hotpoint no longer gives out reference numbers, so I had wasted my time, was all a bit of a con I felt.

8 month old fridge stopped working.
8 month old fridge stopped working.
An engineer visited who ordered two parts. Second engineer came to fit them but the fridge still doesn't work. We believe a third part has been ordered requiring another engineer visit but don't know when they will return. Visits were 8th and 17th so quite a while in between.
It's a 40 minute round trip to collect medication from family member's fridge.
Hard of hearing husband reported the fault by phone as I couldn't find an e mail address and somehow ended up purchasing a fridge cleaning product which wasn't needed. I'm not sure how much this cost in reality but when I've looked the product up I found it to be overly expensive. A hard sell on extended warranty too from which we received a further call several days later asking us to sign up.
To ensure quicker turn around for engineers, couldn't Hotpoint allow them to carry the basic parts required for the fixes?
If an engineer (not had a date given) attends next week and actually mends the fridge we'll have been without one for almost a month.

If Hotpoint were as good at sending a human being to repair a faulty appliance as they are at sending text messages and emails they would be brilliant - but sadly thats not the case. The repair man got lost, couldnt find my house and their attitude is thats MY fault! So now I have to wait another 2 weeks for them to send another clown who may also get lost...
The Hotpoint 10 year parts guarantee is a worthless piece of paper without a human being with the nous to fit the malfunctioning part.
