God awful

God awful. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

£130 per hour rate.

And they charged £90 +VAT (£110) for a replacement part, when it only needed a part worth £30 from screwfix.

Pathetic robber barons. And when called out on it by anyone who remotely knows what they're talking about, they get unpleasant and defensive.

Never use these awful, awful people.

This company is a con

This company is a con. My daughter called them out last night. They charged £49 and wanted to put her door in or drill the lock and quoted £250+ Thankfully she didn't let them drill the lock or bash the door in. We got a proper locksmith out who got in with no damage.

These are scammers. I have called the number advertised asking they repay the money. The woman reckons she needs to speak to a manager and hung up on me as it was the emergency line.

Avoid

One star is too much for these!!!!!

Should not even give these one star as we have been ripped off completely. Yes we expected a call out charge which is £45.00 but the final bill was over £200 just for replacing a simple straight forward lock which took them around 30 minutes max. We are pensioners and they have trust pilot on their site with good reviews which we trusted completely. We wish we had asked every item to be written down at the beginning
because he said that was the charge at the end.

They lure you in with fake websites…

They lure you in with fake websites that are highly prominent on Google. The best thing you can do is find an independent locksmith yourself; these people take inflated commission and I would recommended avoiding.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE... I THINK NOT

If i could give a lower start rating i would.
I was working away from home and my wife rang me in tears that she had locked herself out the house and our 15 month old son was in his cot
a neighbour googled and found these poeple who say they will be here within 25 minutes
They took over an hour to turn up and then charged my wife £130 for drilling a lock
I asked to speak to the manager which took him a day to get back to me and then he tried to justify the charge and said if we were to use them in the future i would get a discount. not worth it in my opinion

OK I £130 is alot of money but I was more annoyed that they did not bother to keep my wife updated with where they were and then when the manager phoned me he tried to use all the excuses traffic, time of day, what jobs they have etc
He also attempts to say that the price was discounted already as that it should have been around the £180+
The manager also states he will speak to his locksmith and get back to me which was about 5 days ago

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

A bunch of Charlatans and con artists

A bunch of Charlatans and con artists. £49 call out changed to £89 then charged £125 for a £12 lock.
I have reported then to Trading Standards, HMRC (not VAT registered but say they are a National Company!)
Join me in creating a campaign against this firm to put them out of business. Oh yes and Adam at Locksmiths.co.uk you are a coward for not returning any calls. You cannot hide forever!
Bunch of rip off artists, con men, chances and rogues. Oh yes! Also entered my house withiut a face mask so, not Covid compliant, no sanitise and also threatened my wife to pay immediately! STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AND PASS THIS REVIEW TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. And Adam, this isn't a competitor trying to sabotage your company, I'm real, very real!

Absolutely avoid!

Absolutely avoid these! We called these out and got a price over the phone of £49 and a little extra depending on the lock.

The locksmith arrives ( my keys were on the mat on the opposite side of the door )

The locksmith started chatting rubbish about the type of lock I have and said he would need to drill it?

Alarm bells started ringing so I began to record the encounter on my phone

I asked him how much, he said how much did I get quoted over the phone to which I said £49

He said £85

So I said that’s ridiculous, you’re trying to scam us! £85 to drill a lock?

He then said that’s not including the new lock, which would be an extra £25

So I was like you’re having us off!

So I asked him again so how much are you charging us!

He replied it’s £120 but you have to pay about £25 for the lock

He kept changing his prices, he could easily picked it if he was a professional locksmith or fished the keys through the letter box, I eventually told him to leave and that I don’t want his service

Someone else came out who charged £50.

Honestly avoid this company as you will get scammed.

Cowboys

Cowboys. They charged £188 for a poor job. Called them over ten times afterwards for a bill I needed to get reimbursed from my landlord. They never got back to me. Don’t go with this company.

Overpriced scammers. Avoid.

They'll send someone out who will be half an hour late. The "locksmith" they send will give you a sales spiel telling you that the lock you have has 6 anti pick pins and that it is impossible to pick. They'll tell you that the only option is to drill the lock out and replace it - when you ask them for a price they start adding imaginary numbers together that suddenly form £130 to £200.

When you call another company for a second opinion, the "locksmith" will get very angry and tell you that what you're doing is very disrespectful. If you're lucky - they'll decide it's not worth it and the £49 callout charge will suddenly not exist anymore and they'll walk off.

The other locksmithing company picked the lock open non-destructively in a few minutes. The only reason these guys get business is via google ads and by exploiting the vulnerable.

Avoid at all costs.

Overpriced Rip-off

I Called this company yesterday as the lock on the doubled glazed door had droped, I was told there was a £43.00 call out charge, this only covers the engineer ringing the door bell, he then took approximately 30 minutes to refit the existing door lock plate,(no spare parts required) I was told that was an additional £83.00, So that would work out as £166.66 an hour or over £364,000.00 for the year, the Mayor of london is getting less than £150,000.00 Be aware they also have software on there website that shows they are local, they are probably based in london

Totally overcharged

This is a London based company by the address on their invoice. Totally overcharged. Was quoted £49 fee, then £129 to take out the mortise lock and £89 for a new lock which you can pick up at Screwfix for £15. Total £263!! My own fault should have used trusted trader rather than first company who use advertising on Google. Wish I’d read their reviews first. Advise use a recognised local company

Avoid! Absolute rip off!!

I am absolutely appalled that this company is allowed to operate. I called a local number to arrange for the replacement of two locks , a simple job. The person who was sent told me that tit would be £395 to replace a simple Yale lock and £279 to replace a standard mortise lock. He removed the mortise lock but then informed me he didn’t have a replacement with him. He then said he would return the next day to finish the job. He then pressured me into paying a deposit of £150 and left door unsecured.
I immediately felt I was being ripped off and cancelled payment with bank. It subsequently turned out that the number I called was not a local firm (even though the area code suggested it was) but a call centre call Lock Sub who then pass on the job to companies such as this! How this is allowed I really don’t know! Totally unregulated industry!
Used Which Trusted Trader and found a genuinely local person who charged £180 for both locks.
If you have paid and are unhappy you can ask your bank for a chargeback for the payment. It can take a few weeks but would be worth the wait.

AVOID!

AVOID!
I had a faulty lock and was unable to get in to my house, the only good thing I can say about them is they arrived quickly on a Saturday night during lockdown.
After working on my lock for a short period (that's where the problem was) he said he would need to break in to the house. I told him it was a brand new door I'd only recently bought and if he could find another way but he told me he would cause no damage. After placing clamps on my door he's damaged my whole frame and scratched the front door which was all brand new.
He then reverted back to the lock meaning the damage to my door was all for nothing!
They charged me £339.00 for this too which is outrageous, I have since tried to gather answers but they have completely ignored me. I am looking to take court action as they are scammers, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

book with anybody else!

Woman on the phone told me that the charge would be £49 call out and then £25 for the part. When the engineer came he said the part is £150 and he needs the cash up front and would not leave the premises otherwise. When I called the lady on the phone she said she told me it had to be a cash payment which was an obvious lie. Would not leave the premesis without paying and my Tennant felt uncomfortable as the mechanic came across aggressive. When calling them back after to vent my frustration and speak to the manager the lady whom I spoke to and booked in with put the phone down. This very much feels like a scam.
