Dealing with holidaycottages.co.uk was simple and straightforward. The property matched the description on their website, so there were no unwelcome surprises. We would definitely use them again when looking for somewhere to stay on our next annual family & dogs holiday.

Lovely location , ideal base for exploring North Devon , very clean and well equipped , very spacious and comfortable, 10 minute walk into Appledore , plenty to do around the area ie pubs food etc , highly recommend !

Travel information and key safe code is provided in good time. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Location is central to Tenby and several good beaches.

My daughter and I had a lovely week at the Stables. So relaxing. Great for our dog too. He loved it in the meadow. We also found it easy to get to other places like Newquay, Fowey and Charlestown to name a few. Jo is so friendly too. We're now looking at when we can go again.

Super easy website to use and find accomodation. The range is massive and will suit all needs.

The app is useful but nothing that the website did not provide. I ended up deleting the app in the end.

I had originally booked a property in Fowey but this had to be changed last minute. Holiday Cottages were so helpful, very quick to respond and honestly couldn’t do enough for me. We booked another property just further down the road which was all sorted on the same day.
I spoke to people in the office, actual people not an automated message system and that makes all the difference. Website easy to use as is the app.

The cottage was fabulous. Beautifully furnished and equipped in an amazing grounds of the farm. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for Ruth and Michael. We hope to return.

Lovely homely cottage, peacefully located but near to Grantown for village facilities and a great base for exploring the Cairngorms.

We had a mixed experience during our stay

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the cottage. It is clearly in need of some TLC and a much-needed facelift, as it feels very tired and worn.

The facilities were very basic, with limited crockery and cups — and only one egg cup. Several light bulbs were out, the sofa was extremely tired, and the oven door was broken.

The dishwasher also still had items inside from the previous guests, which was disappointing on arrival.

The outside space was also neglected and littered, which made it difficult to enjoy what could otherwise have been a lovely area.

We were also surprised and disappointed that there wasn’t even a toilet roll or any milk provided on arrival. These are small touches, but they make a big difference, especially after a long journey.

The cottage has potential, but overall it needs considerable attention, cleaning and investment to bring it up to a comfortable and welcoming .

However, we did notice a few maintenance issues and felt that some areas of the property were a bit tired and could benefit from updating. The cleanliness and general upkeep were not quite at the standard we were expecting, and the outside space also felt like it could use some improvement.

The entrance to the property is also very narrow, and if the neighbouring properties are occupied it can make parking difficult, particularly for larger vehicles. We would advise being mindful of this when booking.

We were also a little disappointed that some basic essentials were not provided on arrival.

In addition, it’s worth noting that there is a relatively steep hill down to the beach, which may not be suitable for less mobile guests.

With some investment in maintenance, cleaning, and a few finishing touches, we believe the cottage could be greatly improved and better reflect its potential.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable. Right next door to a chippy on the harbour. Not located with a view, but still nice to sit outside. Dogs loved all the walks in Amble. I would book the cottage again.

Simple booking process, good property choices and great customer service.

We have used holiday cottages for many years and it is always really easy to book using their website. When we have had a problem it is really easy to call the office and they are always more than happy and helpful to sort any problems that you have. The information we received when booking was good and then the extra information sent out a couple of weeks before the arrival date is really helpful too. There are a range of lovely properties all over the UK to suit a range of requirements.

This place, holgan farm fisheries is very underrated, it’s spotlessly clean, amazing fishery and has amazing owners, Ian heaps is adorable and so is Margaret b&b, Scott is fabulous in making sure your stay is above & behold amazing, I can not recommend this gorgeous overlooked amazing place more, I have already booked for next year thank you sooo much for the experiences that only a true legend Ian heaps can give you, also got to give fellow anglers appreciation for helping, understanding & giving advice x
