Poor Quality Uneven Performance

Three times my company who did an excellent job installing my alarm and home theatre system came out to try to fix this Hikivision home security system they installed. It is the only app on my computer that never works well or consistently. Often only some of the five cameras work. Sometimes you can't log in. I can't afford an expensive service call everytime it acts up, so I'll just keep the cameras there as they might be a deterrent. It is a shame as they were not cheap. I even paid after the first year for a new receiving unit which they said was better and didn't help. Maybe another service call would help but I hate to sink more money into this if it will act up again.

I have struggled with hikvision NVR for…

I have struggled with hikvision NVR for 2 years and they are overly complicated, do not work well, and forget about remote access via Web. Crap company no support and you can see that they don't give a hoot as they do not answer anyone on this forum. Avoid their products.

I have installed 4 Hixvision 4mp…

I have installed 4 Hixvision 4mp cameras connected to Blue Iris and I can honestly say the only issue that I had is two cameras had to be reset once I updated the firmware to allow the white lights to be better controlled. I am not a CCTV installer however I am a HVAC controls engineer being technical minded. No problem whatsoever with the images day or night

Its a joke thats not funny

Customer service. Quote [did you read the manual ] the manual is 194 pg. and I did, you need a manual to decode the manual. Customer service QUOTE [ you should have a cctv service company come out and set it up for you ].

I would give this company .01 if I…

I would give this company .01 if I could. Absolutely no reliable customer support. Customer Service Representatives' favorite line is "We don't talk to end users." I was even told "This is a sophisticated line." I don't think so buddy or I wouldn't be calling for a problem that happens over and over and over again and nowhere near a resolution. Investment on this company's equipment and software is a complete waste of money!

Unreliable

Unreliable, playback frequently fails. Today people have been to-ing and fro-big from my house and no evidence n camera. Just rubbish. Cannot recommend it too lowly.

no customer service whatsoever

after a problem with a cctv doorbell, i rang them, was told to e mail service@, got a reply saying i need to e mail support@, got a reply asking if i was an end user, i said yes and was told we don't speak to end users!
ie their customers

Should not deserve even 1* Lawsuit anyone?

So I'm an installer who recommends customers to buy their products for me to install.

I installed a PTZ camera and have realised that Hikvision advertise their product as 4 region...but if you configure in different zones; they'll only be activated in the Field of View (FOV). So all other configured zones are redundant.

Call tech support...and they give their nonsense "unauthorised seller".

Who here wants to file a Lawsuit? Respond!!!

Total disregard for their customers

I'm sure I'm wasting my time reviewing this company but I think its worth adding more weight behind other disgruntled Hikvision owners.
I own 2 Hikvision cameras which are not cheap. The first thing to say is that they are well made and have proved reliable with good picture quality. That said, there is nothing good about their customer support. Never had a response from them in 4 years and updates and upgrades have stopped coming. The web access to the camera management and maintenance is still at HTTP security level not HTTPS which is a joke for a company dealing in internet exposed security devices. What is worse, access to live and recorded data is not now possible (since three years) as security moves on and Hikvision steadfastly refuse to update the web access to meet Google, Firefox etc new standards and leave users with the outdated, unusable NPAPI browser extension.
When the time comes I will certainly not be buying another Hikvision camera, especially as they have transferred their Hik-Connect servers to India!!

Insanity!

We recently purchased a building that already had a Hikvision system installed. I didn’t have any issue with the system until I tried to update the firmware. I called “technical support” only to be told I had to be an “installer” in order for them to send me the firmware since it was an older system. I thought that seemed a little silly but I declined and purchased another NVR since we wanted to upgrade that anyway. When I ran into an issue installing it, I called “support” only to be told they couldn’t help me with ANYTHING I needed since I wasn’t an “installer”. They told me I’d have to call a professional installer and they would walk THEM through it. Seriously? What a joke! I’ve installed multiple camera systems over the years (usually Lorex) so I’m used to a company actually supporting the product they sell. Now we are replacing our NVR with a Lorex NVR and will never look back. I’d rather support a company that cares about the consumer. This company is an absolute waste of space on the earth and I will NEVER purchase anything from them again.

HIKVISION - NO SUPPORT

Cameras in random order constantly go offline as buggy software and the Hik-connect app is badly designed and even blocked on the playstore. Hikvision support is non existent as support redirects customers back to reseller/installer. Only way to teach you a lesson is to become a detractor so I'm advising punters to buy another brand and refuse to install your products for anyone.

Very Disappointed with it.

We paid a lot out for this system, five cameras to protect our dogs. It was installed by good installers but for the cost it's dissapointing. If it wasn't that we have a annual maintenance contract and you need it with this system,
and the installers are lovely, we would struggle as several things which need tech support, like when it disappeared from our phone. Mouse stopped working twice though works when swapped with our PC.
When we have had tradespeople come onto our property it's not recording. If we knew then what we know now, we would have made sure they fitted a different system.
Great pictures, but you need a maintenance contract as your bound to get problems

Very poor UK customer service

Very poor UK customer service. Upgraded the firmware on an existing network recorder to get the latest features and ended up with no event notifications into the mobile apps. No explanation as to why this can happen from them. Notifications started eventually after a 24 hour delay, with the support technician not able to explain why they had stopped and instead asking for information he'd already been given. Also unable to explain why latest firmware on their support website will not apply to the recorder and gives an error message instead.. Very poor support for such a technical and feature-rich product.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They do not want to connect with their consumers at all! They would much rather feather the nest of their "installation" partners forgetting who in fact pays them. Terrible customer service with seemingly no training on basic human interaction. Robotic like response. Totally unsatisfactory. I won't be using them again.

Incompetent

I had an issue with with my nvr that required me to call customer service. Rather than get into all the particulars, let me just say that their tech support staff has to be the most incompetent people I’ve ever had to deal with. I don’t believe they get any training at all(probably on the job training).
