Overall, it was a smooth proces
Overall, it was a smooth process. It saves the time of trying to locate the best lenders and rates and also all the hits on credit you would otherwise take. Make sure to give adequate lead time, depending on the request it can take over a week. For larger loans, give yourself a couple weeks just in case and in some cases it may include an interest filing with the state on the installed items - its not always 100% unsecured but they are upfront about it in the process - read the contract, but its a great option if you are not keen on taking a home equity loan. Rates are probably close to a HELOC and far less than a straight personal loan saving a lot of money over the years. Makes a lot of sense if you plan to remain in your home for many years.

Terrible
It took 2 months to get funded. I had to upload the same documents 4 - 5 times. The customer service representatives don't know what information is needed on the documents because it turns out HFS is just a middle man for an actual lender. I almost gave up and used a different company alltogether. The loan finally went through and both the interest rate and monthly payment were higher than quoted.
