My experience with Landing (HelloLanding.com) raised serious concerns about privacy, transparency, and billing practices.
The first major issue is their handling of personal information. In order to even browse available properties, they require users to provide sensitive contact details such as a phone number and email address. What is not made adequately clear is that this information will also be shared or sold to third parties, including major data brokers like Experian and others who may further redistribute that data. This can include your name, phone number, email address, and even location preferences based on the cities or properties you search for.
What makes this especially concerning is how difficult it is to remove your information afterward. Deleting your Landing profile alone is not enough (which alone is a multi-step process that requires several days). Users may need to submit multiple separate data-removal requests through various affiliated data firms, many of which request even more sensitive information — including scans of government-issued ID — before processing deletion requests. In practice, this creates a system where protecting your privacy requires surrendering even more private information to additional companies. The process feels extremely predatory and unnecessarily invasive.
The second major concern is the lack of transparency surrounding membership enrollment and recurring charges. During checkout, there is a checkbox that appears to ask whether you want to enroll in their annual membership program (roughly $199/year). A reasonable customer would assume leaving that box unchecked means they are declining enrollment. However, elsewhere in the required terms and conditions are provisions effectively stating that by proceeding with the booking, you are still agreeing to membership enrollment and recurring charges regardless of whether that checkbox was selected.
That kind of design is deeply misleading. Important financial commitments and recurring billing obligations should be presented clearly and unambiguously — not buried across multiple legal agreements while the visible checkout interface suggests otherwise.
Overall, my experience left me feeling that Landing prioritizes aggressive data collection and subscription enrollment tactics over transparency and customer trust. Anyone considering using the service should carefully review every agreement, monitor their billing closely, and think twice before providing personal information simply to browse listings.
I enjoyed my stay at the 52. Everything was amazing from the loft, to the crystal pool. It was super quiet, you rarely see your neighbors and everyone minds their business. The location was quiet, and I was able to get on the interstate with ease. It was only a 30 min drive to the beach! I am planning to stay here for every trip I take to Pensacola!

Instructions to find the apartment at Wauwatosa Wisconsin weren't great but once we found it, it exceeded our expectations. It was truly a home away from home, as it was immaculately clean and had everything needed for a fuss free stay. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning for a longer extended stay!

I loved my stay at the Railyard in Denton TX. The apartment was well laid out, clean and comfortable. The area was close to downtown as well as I-35.
The staff that I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely put this on my list of places to stay in the future.

I’ve been retired nine years and during that time have used Airbnb exclusively to live in various places, with no “permanent” location. Using Landing for the first time now has been smooth going and I look forward to explore new locations. The unit is comfortable and fully equipped, much more to my liking than the other option.

The Landing has helped me twice in the last year and both experiences were great. I rented in Atlanta with a convenient location to work, nice facilities and very generous with the furnished items. There were necessary tools as well as extra decorative touches that made it feel like a home.
Every employee I spoke with in both rentals were great with an especially helpful and kind man named Brendan who listened to my needs and helped every time. He followed up on maintenance issues and was a great middleman between the Landing and the apartment management itself so I didn't have to slow down and make the calls. Thanks to him and his team! I highly recommend The Landing!

My daughter is a travel nurse on contract in Seattle and she is in a Landing apartment. Her apartment was broken into yesterday. The external door has a FOB. The apartments say Landing has multiple FOBS but won't disclose how many. My daughter's contact at Landing, Pablo, is either unresponsive or gives empty promises (lacks follow through). Pablo is either overworked or incompetent. I'm not sure which but either will land the company in court. She cannot submit a work order or ask for a solution because Landing is the Leasee and they must do it. But they don't! I will hold Landing liable if anything happens to her. Not only has someone gotten into her apartment, her refrigerator has been out of commission for days, spoiling her food and no attention has been given to that. This company has no customer service and disregards the safety of their tenants.

Joe from Landing was so very professional and informative, you really don’t get a Customer service like that anymore. Went above and beyond to help set us for our next reservation. 5 stars ⭐️ all the way around. He also spent some time with us and answered all our questions regarding the membership. Thanks Joe! And thanks Landing.

My stays with the landing standby program are nothing short of superb.
I was a little bummed to see that Danni Nguyen was moving into another role. She was truly a difference maker but have been super impressed with Linhchi’s professionalism and follow through.
The Landing has brought on another winner and I am grateful for her support!

Update: I have not been contacted by anyone to resolve this issue as of 5/26 as indicated by landings response to my review. No one has reached out to address the $1795 I was charged after I moved out after 1 month.
This review is specific to my experience with a standby membership in the Austin, Texas area and Landing’s attempt to charge me $1,795 after I moved out before completing a full 30-day stay — despite repeated issues caused by Landing’s own lack of quality control and transparency.
My first move-in experience at Bridge at Henley was awful. The hallway leading to my unit was piled with trash, furniture, books, and random debris, as if a nearby eviction had occurred and no one bothered to clean afterward. The smell in the hallway was overwhelming and nauseating.
To make matters worse, the pool — one of the main reasons I selected the property — was drained and under construction upon arrival. This was never disclosed before move-in.
I later transferred to The Monroe, where I encountered another major issue: a unit with a strong cigarette smell that made me physically nauseous. Despite raising concerns, there appeared to be little to no urgency in addressing the condition of the unit or the broader pattern of quality assurance failures. They did offer to send a clean crew to help get rid of the smell but without shampooing all carpet and upholstery plus replacing linens the smell would continue to be an issue.
At every step, the experience reflected a lack of inspection, disclosure, and basic attention to livable conditions. For a company marketing itself as a premium flexible housing provider, the gap between advertising and reality was significant.
I’m happy to provide further details if Landing genuinely wants to pursue a fair resolution instead of attempting to impose additional charges after repeated service failures.

This place was amazing! We have stayed at alot of landings resort and this was one of our favorite. We brought our 3 kids from Canada and stayed for 2 months! The place was quiet, safe, walking distance to Starbucks and kneaders. Our GM Amanda Young was wonderful to deal with.

From the very beginning of the application process, Landing reached out to assist with any support I needed. Stephanie was extremely helpful in getting me checked in to my apartment and she was very responsive whenever I needed anything. The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable. Everything you need is here and it felt like home right away. I am so glad I chose Landing when I needed temporary housing. They have been great to work with and I feel safe and happy here at Atlas Blue Hill.

Landing staff are super to deal with by phone! The apartment I rented has been perfect for my needs. The only thing that makes for confusion is the method of charging 50% at booking and the remaining 50% 10 days prior to the move in/check-in date. Please consider a new method of providing receipt of payment for your rentals. (Suggestion)
