Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 150 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently reported that products, such as shoes and clothing, were of exceptionally poor quality, often made from cheap, flimsy materials that did not match descriptions or advertised images. Many found items like orthopaedic shoes to be uncomfortable and poorly constructed, with strong chemical smells or incorrect sizing. Reviewers also noted significant discrepancies between advertised materials, like cotton or suede, and the actual synthetic fabrics received, leading to feelings of being misled. Additionally, people experienced considerable frustration with delivery, as items often arrived late, sometimes weeks after ordering, or were not delivered to the correct address. The return policy was a major point of dissatisfaction, with many discovering they had to pay significant costs to return items to China, often facing difficulties with the process or even lost shipments. Many consumers felt deceived about the company's origin, believing it was UK-based when products consistently shipped from China.

Total scam. This is a cheap Chinese warehouse, not a Brighton-based shop. What were advertised as top quality orthopaedic shoes barely meet 'middle of Lidl' quality. Their returns policy means nothing... See more

DO NOT USE!!!!

As per everyone else on, I've been duped. 19 days before delivery and then different colour and a dent in one of the toes. Could probably have got better on Temu. The only good thing about the shoes I ordered is that they fit but THAT'S ALL!
Do the women in their ad even know they're being used???
Dreadful scammers - DO NOT USE!!!

The shoes arrived

The shoes arrived, not from Brighton as their advert suggests but from China. The shoes are a different colour, different design, have a flimsy soul and smell terrible!
You cannot contact the firm direct, the email address does not exist. Hazel and May are a disgrace, not to be trusted and you would be very disappointed (as was I) with their product!

Misleading website and poor quality products.

I thought I was buying from a UK company in Brighton going by the website. Shoes took ages to arrive and I decided to return them because they are poor quality and give off a strong unpleasant chemical smell. Only then by looking at returns policy did I discover they came from China and I would have to pay to send them back there. Closer investigation on the website, I saw reviews for many items are by the same customers and yet there is no way of leaving a review at all. Completely misleading website and low quality products. To be avoided!

Complete scam

Complete scam! This is not a British company. Shoes took months to come. When the did anrrive they were very poor quality and the wrong size. To have a replacement pair in the right size they wanted to charge me an additional £14 for postage! Don’t go near them!

Completely misleading. They claim to be in Brighton but there is no address or phone number. Email communications is awful and orders don’t arrive. Wish I’d checked here first.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. The website is misleading - picture of 2 cheerful ladies stood outside a shop. Truly thought I was buying from a UK company. Shoes looked lovely on the website. I ordered the shoes on 28 October, had to chase them with their customer services 3 times and they eventually arrived on 14 November. They looked nothing like the picture on the website. Cheap, nasty, absolutely awful. Returns have to be shipped back to China. Complete waste of money. Please learn from my mistake.

Don't bother

Don't bother. Wish I'd read the reviews first. Long delivery time, bad quality goods, terrible returns policy. China based. Good for nothing but the bin.

Cheap nasty fabric

Cheap nasty fabric. The delivery took 2.5 weeks. The top says it’s marked down to £50. I wouldn’t value it at more than £10. Cheap nasty fabric & poorly stitched together - very disappointing quality.

As people have said already

As people have said already. DO NOT BUY from this company. They are a facade. There is no shop in Brighton. Their website is a total lie and dig a little and yes, entirely China based. Delivery takes forever and the quality is beyond shocking. And Returns are to China. Please just don't touch them.

Poor Quality; misleading advertisment

Delivery was delayed, and when the shoes arrived, they appeared to be made of poor quality materials
The construction was not bad, and they may be lined with leather, but the flat black soles are an odd plastic which is emitting a strong chemical odour
The uppers are made to look like suede, but are synthetic and the button on the strap has sharp ends poking through the strap leather
I suspect that these shoes are probably worth £15 or less, and the price has been inflated to £39
Definitely not worth the £100 that the advert stated that they were worth
Misleading advertising - I suspect a scam

Scammers

I ordered shoes from a shop based in Brighton UK. The shoes have taken too long to arrive from a UK shop. There was no indication when buying online that this wasn't a UK shop. Lots of emails back and forth, reassurances that the shop is in Brighton but goods have to come from, you've guessed it China!! Shoes gave arrived today and are of extremely poor quality not fit for purpose at a price of £39.99. It's ok I'm going to get a charge back from the bank but please beware of this quite elaborate scam
