Gunnercooke partner Timothy David Vincent Tyndall represented to the University of Oxford that he was acting for me.
No client care documentation was issued.
No terms of engagement were agreed.
No payment was made or requested.
No authority was given for the solicitor to act on my behalf or to be interposed as my representative in communications concerning that process.
The University relied on that representation. A degree-determinative process was conducted through Mr Tyndall. I was not included in the operative communications governing that process.
Gunnercooke, including its Heads of Compliance, Paul Meredith and Sarah Coyne, and Compliance Manager, Hassan Mohammed, was notified that no authority had been granted and that I was not acting through the firm. The position was clear and capable of immediate correction.
No effective corrective step was taken. The representation was not withdrawn in terms sufficient to displace reliance. No steps were taken to restore direct communication or to ensure that the record reflected the absence of authority.
The process continued on that basis, with material consequences for my degree.
Gunnercooke llp has stated that the matter has been “dealt with by our compliance team.” That is a mischaracterization. No corrective statement has been issued. The representation remains unwithdrawn.
GunnerCooke Solicitors were so disappointing in their customer care, useless- would never recommend them. They were our bridge finance solicitor so we had no choice and the person who dealt with our case resigned. After chasing and chasing, emailing, calling for weeks they still pushed me to the general inbox that nobody monitors and the solicitor who I was hoping can help told me she is not able to help at all. and nobody cared that I really need them to update simple thing, its not like a whole process. Do not engage with them.

Mr Nasir Khan’s name appears in materials referring to Asif v Ditta, Punjab National Bank (International) Ltd v Ors [2019] EWHC 89 (Ch), Naseer v Raja [2025] EWHC 2565 (KB), and Kingdom Bank Corporation v Moorwand Ltd [2023] EWHC 3069 (Comm). I do not go beyond the public record. In those materials, one judgment says that “Mr Khan’s evidence on this subject is not entirely satisfactory”; another records the absence of supporting records; and another records that a claim was dismissed for failure to establish the basic threshold conditions for relief. In Asif v Ditta, he defeated a wasted costs application against him personally.

Kelly-Marie is amazing to work with. She responds quickly, chases up on everything, and pushes to get the matter resolved as soon as possible. She is fast paced and gets things done for you. She simplifies everything by outlining and highlighting the key information in her replies.
She’s genuinely nice to deal with. Also, fees are extremely competitive. She’s everything you want in a solicitor: efficient, proactive, and great value. Thank you Kelly, I can’t recommend you enough!

other solicitors we know sadly we nickname
"snailmail" as they only do by slow emails , and if other side is the same things can drag on for months longer than necessary

Sam who worked so hard for me. I need the paperwork sorted out and I could not do it as I was elderly. He came over and supported me to get my project done. He was understanding and very good.

Having owned my business for 33 years I decided it was time to sell, I had no previous experience of selling a business so didn't really know where to start, my accountant put me in touch with Kyri Papantoniou of Gunnercook, Kyri and his team held my hand through the whole process, the professionalism and communication was exceptional, I also considered the fees to be very reasonable for the amount of work involved.

I have worked with Benjamin from the very beginning of his career as a solicitor, and he is the reason I chose Gunnercooke. He is sharp, on the ball, and a true professional I trust completely. Benjamin combines expertise with integrity and always delivers with clarity and professionalism — I highly recommend him.

Kelly Marie Bannister was superbly professional, accessible at times that worked for me as a busy professional and endlessly wise in her advice. My experience was honestly seamless and this is coming from someone who has spent much of their professional life dealing with lawyers on a daily basis! It was a really good all round experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend Kelly and gunnercooke.

Absolutely useless company. Website looks incredibly fake. Every single person who works there is supposedly a “Partner”. Had a Leasehold flat go on forever mainly due to the incompetence and unprofessionalism of their staff. Useless bunch of jokers.
It is no wonder they are not claiming this page. Clearly, this opinion is widespread!
I would like to take a moment to share my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional service I received from Gunnercooke over the past few weeks. The team’s hard work, professionalism, and unwavering support throughout a challenging process have been nothing short of remarkable.
The task at hand was not an easy one, and the timescales were particularly tight, yet Gunnercooke’s dedication and diligence ensured everything came together seamlessly. Their attention to detail and commitment to delivering results exceeded all my expectations.
I cannot recommend Gunnercooke highly enough as a solicitor. Their expertise and willingness to go the extra mile truly set them apart. Without hesitation, I will be recommending their services. My particular thanks go to Natalie for her very hard work and determination and to Ninos for his professionalism and support.
Thank you once again for everything, and I wish the entire team a very happy and well-deserved Christmas. Your efforts have been greatly appreciated, and I’m incredibly thankful for your support.
Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this firm. Their client (a so called managing agent) for a property I own the leasehold for commissioned them. They deployed underhand tactics to in my view bully people into paying, what we believe are unlawful charges, whereas in reality they need to challenge their clients to ensure their behaviour and approach is ethical / legal. The support to understand charges and process was non existent and follow up on the basics including things like a simple receipt were impossible. This is largely a no win no fee organisation which was evident from the approach of dragging out proceedings as long as possible to rip their clients off and those who unfortunately were saddled with their appallingly high cost. Working closely with the Law Society I can confirm so many better companies in London able to balance client needs with ethical and proper business, avoid at all costs.
Hired Sarah Armstrong to help with an employment matter. Sadly the advice wasn't helpful and instead I incurred fees without a successful outcome.
I stopped using them and settled the matter myself with an increased financial award.
Then their bills arrived charging for work Sarah decided to do without my agreement.
I would not recommend them.
I had Lucina dealing with my family matter and I have to say that she is so unprofessional and charges money for doing NOTHING.
She was never available when trying to get in contact with her. An absolutely waste of time and money!!!!
I had to deal with Margaret spencer, for the money she charges she was very rude
When I was buying a property through auction Gunnercooke acted for the seller. They tried to have me pay them three times the fees that they are contractually entitled to, they claimed repeatedly that the property was being sold “as is”, when the documents said vacant possession. I formally complained but received an evasive answer with no apology for their repeated errors. As a result I am left with the impression that they were deliberately attempting to charge higher fees and willing to deliberately misrepresent agreed terms to my detriment. I encourage caution and scepticism with dealing with them.
